Delicious New York-style pizza! The crust on the pizzas is whisper thin and cooked to perfection. The toppings were fresh and delicious. The pear salad is also not to be missed. We had a wonderful night at Baonecci celebrating our daughter's 13th birthday with her.

Baonecci is a little find in little Italy! It has great food, good wine, and the service is right on. You definitely need to make a reservation as it's a small place and fills up fast. I think they have some of the best Pizza in Noth Beach. It's definitely Roman style so thin flakey crusts, and wonderful fresh toppings. They is no heavy sauce involved. We've had lasanga, egg plant parmesian, plus a few different pastas. Every thing has been great. So make a reservation and enjoy!

We were in San Francisco for the marathon and found this restaurant through Yelp! It was close to the marathon expo so we agreed to try it. We were not disappointed. The food was good and priced reasonable for San Francisco. Average dinner was around $16. We will come back again when we are in town.

Great place and very accommodating. Last minute trip to SF for a long weekend with my wife and needed a place to eat after the Giants lost. Open Table listed them and there was room available. Sat us right down and they were very friendly the food was good and atmosphere was just what we were looking for. Yes we will go back.

A friend of mine introduced me to this restaurant when I first moved to SF a year ago, and it is the one place I continue to go back to. Bottom line: if you haven't been, you need to go. And also, the pizza is beyond, I mean, BEYOND. It's a place where you feel very at home, and I love that.

The food was amazing. The pizza is way better than Tony's down the street! My only issue with our experience was how hot it was in there. I was sweating just sitting there and downing as much water as possible. AIr conditioning would be a great investment for such a packed restaurant!

Upon entering I was excited because of all the good reviews on several sites and then saw pictures of Tuscany and Lucca thinking maybe we would experience some of the food memories of Italy. We got pizza with sausage and onions-the onions too strong. I enjoy thin crust, but this crust was so thin it lacked any tooth. The eggplant parm was good, not impressive and not cheesy. Good salad, clean dressing. The service was attentive and personable. While the meal was fine, it was not the special find I was hoping for. Not sure why everyone else gave 4.5 stars, in SF??? Liked the homey, family feel.

If this is the best pizza in SF, I quit. Nice enough staff and fast enough service. White house wine was barely palatable. Margherita pizza was too thin and short on flavor and cheese. Lasagna was excellent. Might be worth trying again if there weren't so many other choices around in SF. I felt misled by overly positive reviews.

This family run restaurant is a one and only. Every time we visit San Francisco, we come here at least once. The atmosphere, service, food is like stepping into a bistro in Italy! The pizza dough is impossibly thin. Ingredients delicious. Have to say that all we've had is pizza, but the other items on the menu look as good. Authentic salads, antipasti, pizzas. You really can't go wrong. And, the sons who work the front of the restaurant are so kind and happy. They make you feel at home. You will not go wrong coming here...skip the trendy restaurants with tables on the busy street. You will not be disappointed stepping into this little neighborhood gem. Thanks as always for a great meal!

Via an insider tip from a San Francisco local, I got the address of this cozy small family runned Italian restaurant. It is situated on the nice area around Greenstreet. Pasta is freshmade by the lady owner, who comes to check inside the restaurant if everything is alright! Her two sons serve at your table and are extremely friendly. I had dinner with my son, we both loved this place.

... if you like the thin crust-type... This is my third critic of my favorite Italian dive in North Beach in less than a year's time. Baonecci has never disappointed me, and everyone is just so friendly! I'd give a "high-5" on everything if it wasn't that the pies weren't so overpriced. I mean, a Margarita, the classic naked pizza, or the Pizza Napoli, another classic w anchovies and capers, so w v simple toppings on them, how can they cost 18.99 bucks? They should be 10 or less! It's just a dough! Maybe NB prices are hiked by the yuppies invading SF, but this still is a charming hole in the wall, totally un-fancy - take a look at Stefania's kitchen. This is all well and fine and part of the experience, but please, get your prices right!

One important thing to note is that the restaurant does NOT serve "secondi piatti". It only serves appetizers, salads, pastas and pizzas. We both ordered pasta dishes which were very good, but also very expensive. The glass of red wine was served refrigerated, but at least they were willing to replace it with something else. The noise level was minimal on a Wednesday night, but only 3-4 tables were occupied. The dining room is small but charming in a rustic way. However, at $50 per person (one shared salad, two pastas, and three glasses of wine), I thought it was overpriced.
