Friends recommended the Lettuce Wraps, Sticky Ribs, and Thai Beef salad. We ordered the first two and discussed the Beef salad with the waiter, worried that it might be problematic because of a tooth issue. Finally we decided to order the sliders instead. The salad was the first thing delivered, oops. He took it back. Drinks came after that along with the first two dishes which were deliciious. Flavorful, fun to share. House Gin Martini was heavy on vermouth and pedestrian with cruchy ice floating on top, wouldn't order it again. A beer from Scotland stored in Rum Barrels, on the other hand, was delicioiusly flavored and a really good accompaniment to the dishes. The little plate of free munchies (sirachia popcorn and picked cucumbers) came after the first dishes were presented. It would have been nice to have the drinks and munchies first but it didn't change the really great taste of the food. Time for the bill. Remember that salad, still on the bill, had to ask them to remove it, which they did. Our friends told us that the restaurant sends out cotton candy at the end of the meal. I saw one table get it, ours did not, neither did the table next to us. Very pleasant meal, restaurant wasn't crowded, pace was slower than I woudl have liked and too slow for managing when the place is full. In fact, I don't know how they survive when it is. We plan to go back. Sunday night seems like a good time.

This was her first time at BAO. We took the kids and everyone enjoyed their meal. The food was great. They use some exotic flavors that really work with their dishes. My only disappointment was with the waitstaff. The tableside service was very good but the casual staff conversations off to the side were a bit inappropriate. I'm sure they were they thought they were out of ears reach but we could easily hear their conversation which consisted of several four letter words. Normally it would not bother me but because my kids were dining with me I thought it was inappropriate. I would go back and give it another try because the food was very good and the service was equally good at the table.

After searching for a nice restaurant to take my wife to for her birthday I settled on Bao. We had passed it several times and admired the waterside seating. While the videos on their website are a bit intimidating you have nothing to fear. The staff was friendly and attentive. The ambiance was unbeatable. Live entertainment added to the experience rather than overwhelm it. But the real star was the food. Joined by My son and his wife we decided on an assortment of tapas. Everything was cooked to perfection and beautiful. I especially recommend the charred octopus. I have never tasted octopus that was that tasty and tender enough to practically melt in your mouth.

Party of 4. We had a great time. Excellent service. Food was fresh and well prepared. The issue is sugar. I thought I was the only one but a poll of those attending brought up way too sweet from everyone. Just about everything served is covered with very sweet oriental glazes. Even the 2 Americans in our party did not react favorably. Aside from not tasting all that great, it completely masks the flavor of the main ingredients. I don't mind interpreted Korean cooking and we understand Americans can't get enough sugar, but this is extreme. Of the 4 of us, 2 would not return and 2 are not too thrilled about returning. Pity as the menu is excellent, the ingredients and cooking is excellent, the service was superb, a lovely location and within walking distance from our homes.

Bao was great! We are visiting Fort Lauderdale and this was our first time there. We will go back next time we visit. The server was knowledgeable and her service was excellent. And everything we had was delicious -- especially the sticky ribs, the Bao buns (we had the chicken), and the sushi. Yum. Plus the five-spice popcorn before and the cotton candy at the end were great treats.

We were looking for sushi and found this place. It was an excellent dinner in a very nice setting. The poke salad was terrific as well as all the other dishes. The waiter was very good. We ate on the deck next to the waterway and that made it an even better experience.

Bao is now on my go to list every time I'm in South Florida. We opted to share a bunch of the tapas, and that was a great idea! We were able to try a bunch of different dishes, which were all incredible. If I had to choose just one, I would probably say the Chinese sticky ribs (which fall right off the bone). The wine list is pretty extensive, and the mojitos are delicious! Being one of the few restaurants on Las Olas to have waterfront seating, it's a great place for a romantic dinner. Bao really does have it all: amazing food, wonderful service, and an ambiance to die for.

A beautiful setting, perfect for a quiet or romantic evening without being pretentious. Service was attentive. Food was good with the salmon and octopus being exceptionally good. Menu is more limited than appears online and has lost some of the interesting variety. Spicy tuna sushi roll was only ordinary.

The service was terrible, the server just vanished, We were in 4 customers and we had to ask several times to get some attention, the drinks as OK, maybe was a bad day .....but our first impression was so BAD, the place and views are great. I hope one day we can return and vanish this bad impression . The manager was very polite and sent for us the dessert , the manager change the server to fix the situation.

Great location on a canal and finger licking delicious food. They welcome dogs outside and the ambience was amazing. If we lived closer to Ft. Lauderdale (we're in Miami) we'd be regulars. Either way, I know we'll be back. Highly recommend!!!

The service was extremely poor. We said we did not want anything fried, but when we ordered the sesame chicken, it was deep fried and like shoe leather. I had to ask 3 times for salt and most of the evening the waiter was no where to be seen. Too bad since this place has great ambiance, but nothing much else to be desired.

My overall review is good and if you love asian tapas you should definitely check this place out! Food was really good but our particular waiter must have been new or inexperienced. He forgot a lot of our order and several other things we asked for (water, wet naps, drink). The atmosphere is really cool and they have nice seating outside by the canal. Prices are reasonable and we would definitely go back(as long as we didn't have the same waiter). Although we went there for tapas, I was a little disappointed that their menu online included some main dishes that sounded really good but when arrived the menu only had tapas. So if you're not in to tapas, I would pass. Overall, good food, prices are reasonable and I would recommend!

The food was excellent and the variety was outstanding. The wait staff was experienced and pleasant. However, don't eat inside the restaurant as it looks like aregular small bar with a few booths. But the outside area is beautiful and is along a canal with lots of greenery on the dock .
