2nd family birthday celebrated here in the past month or so. We love the food & the kids especially loves grilling their own meats. The duck BBQ is the best ever. And the dol sop bi Bim bop is also a favorite. Something for everyone. Can't wait to come back.

It breaks my heart to give this review because we have been to Bann several times before and sadly this will be our last. I specifically asked for a decent seating location since it was my Wife's birthday. We must have been sat in the worst location of the house, high traffic area by customers, waiters, everyone. I asked the Maitre D (Tall Korean Man with glasses) if we could please switch to a location that had recently become available, (this is before we even ordered) and he rudely tells us no that it was already reserved by another.... How, the space just became available. As any husband who has tried to make his wife's birthday special knows, you absolutely do not need some Maitre D messing up your plans.

My girl and I went to Bann and then Les Miz. A great date! Dinner at Bann was excellent. We started with shrimp dumplings and spare ribs. The sauce on each had a nice spice level. The ribs reminded us of brisket. We will most definitely order them again. For the main course we ordered vegetables and rib eye for the barbecue. The ribeye steak was marinated beautifully and exceptional when combined with the miso paste and some veggies on a lettuce wrap. The salad dressing (some combination of sesame and ginger) is fabulous. The veggies were wonderful. I particularly enjoyed the shiitake mushrooms (I will order the shiitake as a stand-alone dish next time). Overall-a wonderful meal with attentive service. Loved the green tea to go with.

Bann was great for our family of four (12 year old son & 16 year old daughter) with a pleasent staff and a diverse menu. The smokeless grill on the table is a fun option for us to play with our food and fire at the same time. My daughter ordered the eel which was incredible and cooked on steaming hot rocks. We enjoyed shrimp and filet mignon cooked the way we liked it. The creme brûlée and coconut ice cream was the perfect desert. We also made use of the good wine selection. The noise level of the restraunt was just right makeing it a fun place to go with a boisterous group. The only negative to report was they were out of salmon and tuna by 8 pm on Sunday night.

We were a large party of 9 who trickled in because some were late. The staff was very accommodating. The appetizers came out hot and delish! Scallion pancake, rice noodles with veggies, ribs. We ordered the large Korean Barbeque for our main course, which ample amounts of different cuts of steak, salmon, shrimp, and a side of chicken too. We each got a fresh salad, with rice and 3 little dishes of accompaniments. Cooking our own little bites of food on the smokeless grill at our table was a fun way to interact with each other. We also order the Korean crispy fried rice which had tons of fresh veggies in it. Can't remember the name.... but everything was DELICIOUS! The service was excellent - our water glasses filled frequently.

The staff is highly efficient at taking your order and bringing your meal to you very quickly, therefore, you can start on barbequeing your food. The table is fitted with a mini BBQ in the middle of the table. You are also served rice, a salad and veges. I had the filet minon and my friend, the shrimp. Delicious! It was crowded, with a birthday party going on, so it was very noisy. However, it wasn't so bad that we couldn't carry on a conversation. There is a bar area, which is good for before dinner drinks or after stopping by after a Broadway show. Very clean, and great staff.

Great value for happy hour with appetizers. I highly recommend: marinated beef rib eye & spicy daikon on steamed flour buns; spicy chicken wings; baby pork ribs slow roasted in a tangy soy & chili barbecue sauce. These appetizers are flavorful, not too spicy, paired perfectly with complementing garnishes and very well executed. For dinner, the KALBI JIM beef short rib (off the bone) with kabocha braised in a sake ginger soy glaze was so tender, very tasty and the portion size was very generous. Check this place out!

Hard to find Korean barbecue in Connecticut, so when we happened to be coming in for a play we took a chance and booked an early dinner here. While the appetizers were genuine and tasty, the real star is the broad range of choices for cook it yourself barbecue. We opted for the large mixed platter, which came with perfectly seasoned and sliced variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, and of course garlic paste and lettuce wraps, and three kimchi's. We proceeded to enjoy the next hour grilling various choices and wrapping them up; a very casual, social, and pleasant way to dine. Pleasant bonuses were the variety of drinks - including a quality "100 year wine" and soju lemonade, and even bigger surprise were the delicious desserts -

Visited because of a Living Social deal. Service was attentive, friendly, and quick. Cocktails were good, and they have some good happy hour specials if you sit at the bar. Overall, though, the food was just OK. I've had a lot of Korean BBQ in K-town, and it's much better overall-- more banchan (which is my favorite part) and better variety. The one nice option you have at Bann that you don't usually have at the K-town places is a bigger variety of meats-- we got duck breast which was delicious and not widely available.

Went here for restaurant week dinner- great time, great food! Some of my party were running late, so we enjoyed $5 Happy hour. Cocktails not strong, but tasty for 5 bucks. When the party was in full they seated us quickly. Not necessarily the friendliest service, but attentive. Food- yummy! Great portion for restaurant week! didn't feel cheated at all, which sometime you do some places for RW. We ordered an extra seafood pancake which was tasty, not too oily like it can be.We all had BBQ although In hindsight we should have each ordered a diff meat, since it was so much for each person. Could have given more variety of the sidedishs(banchan?), only 3 given, but we did have leftover meat and rice. Will def return for regular menu!

I brought my friends who tried Korean food for the first time. We ordered Korean BBQ, which is great, but service was poor. Food servers just take out our dishes which we even did not finish. also, when they put our food on tables, they kind of threw dishes on the table. One important error of BBQ here is that they did not give tones to handle meats. I should use chopsticks, which is not convenient to grill meats. What if your customors are not able to use chopsticks at all? Even I am very familiar with using chopstick, it was not easy to flip meats on the grill. What a laborious work is.... In addition, it is not easy to check if meats were ready to eat because the place was so dark.

We went for lunch during Restaurant Week. The atmosphere at Bann is spare and elegant, the waiters are charming and cheerful. The noise level -- at least in the afternoon -- is merciful. My spicy chicken wing appetizer was very good but not spectacular. The main courses were another matter. While the portions were copious, the overall effect was surprisingly bland. My friend put her seafood noodle dish aside after several bites, and declared it fairly devoid of taste. My Bann noodle dish had the promised taste of sesame and soy, there was not much more to say about it, other than that the beef was slightly tough. This is a lovely restaurant, close enough for B'way shows. If only the food could be more exciting, it could be a mecca!

The menu was full of options, and as a lover of Asian foods, I have seen a lot of menus. App and entree presentation was wonderful, and the place was not full of tourists. Could tell by the orders around me that diners were well-aware of Korean food choices. Service was great, and we would def come back. Just out of the way of the horrid Theater Dist food options, but close enough to do pre or post-theater with reservations. Good find (look for them during Restaurant Week - great value).

We arrived on time with a party of 6, then waited over 40 minutes to get anything more than water while a neighboring table of 4 women (who arrived after we did) and another table on the other side of us were served course after course. When I complained, the waiter blamed it on the kitchen. (I suspect our order never made it there, and the servers who finally arrived with the food were obviously not given chair numbers, since they had no idea who had ordered what.). Eventually we were offered a free bottle of overpriced wine as compensation. (Twice what it costs at the liquor store is okay. Three or more times is definitely not.) A pity because the food was generally very good. Even desserts (except for dry carrot cake.)
