We were seated promptly, our drink order was filled in a very quick manner, and all of our food came out at the perfect time. We never had to search for our waiter because he was always readily available and very attentive. The atmosphere was chic and modern, and the BBQ was outstanding. We will definitely return for another noteworthy meal and will recommend Bann to all of our friends and family. Thank you!!"

  • "Our dining experience was good -- not great, but good. We expected a bit more authenticity in the food; especially seeing the menu (we ordered from the regular menu). From the apps (ex: mandu dumplings, which had little of the Korean flavors we were seeking, though they were nevertheless very tasty) through the shared main, it all seemed a bit "tamed" for the Western palate and therefore a little lackluster. This is not to say the food was bad -- it was very tasty and nicely prepared -- so in the world of Korean dining in America it was good. But from the people who brought us Woo Lea Oak from years gone by, I expected it to WOW us with Korean flavors and authenticity. It missed the mark there, though we still had an enjoyable meal."

  • "Came here for Restaurant Week for dinner and was seated immediately. The servers were very attentive, filling our water glasses before they were even half empty and often checking on us to see if we were doing well. The waiter answered all of our questions and even gave suggestions of what was good. Quick service. Cooked our own food which was a great experience for a first time but next time I will let them cook it because it took rather long. The portions are a good size and for the Korean BBQ the sides seem endless. If you run out of something they will bring you more. I liked the ambiance and the decor. Would definitely come back to try their happy hour. Cute little spot in Midtown for Date Night, Girls Night Out or Family Dinner."

  • "We had never been to Bann before and went with a groupon for the first time a few days ago. The restaurant's ambience looked nice. Food was a bit expensive but tasty. What we liked the most was the service. The waiter was very attentive and didn't treat us any differently because we had groupon. We were not sure how much food to order and asked for his opinion. He didn't try to sell us more food than we needed. It turned out what we ordered was just right for us. We appreciated that. He also showed us how to use the BBQ and how to make a wrap with veggies, meat, and sauce. Their BBQ equipment was clean and non-smoke. We had fun experience cooking at the table. Overall, we had a nice time at Bann."

  • "We had a pre-matinee lunch at Bann - delighted with how it worked out. Having just returned from a trip to Korea, we craved the pickles, the soups, the tender meat and fish, the delicious kimchi. We both had bento boxes, one with fish and one with kal-bi beef. Everything was absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared, and it was a nice calm, quiet place to relax amid the bustle of the theatre district. We well definitely return."

  • " This place is great for large groups. It can accommodate large parties, and the food and prices are good. After our meal, it started to rain outside, so our group moved to the bar for after-meal drinks to wait until the rain died down a little more. The only complaint I could give is that the server did not come around enough to ask us if we wanted any more drinks. If he had, we would have surely ordered more!"

Waiter did not advise us that portions were large, so we ordered 4 entrees for 4 people, 2 of whom were children. We ate less than 1/2 of the food. Probably best to share. Soft shell crab roll was excellent as well. Would definitely go back."

We have dined at Bann many times over the years and have never been disappointed (except for the one time early on when we foolishly tried to barbecue by ourselves at the table. That's what chefs are for). Our recent meal consisted of a spare ribs appetizer with a marvelous sauce, short ribs, which are always good, and a crispy rice dish with chicken (Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap). The food was excellent, as was the service. Indeed, the server was very personable and quite helpful. We will, of course, return."

  • "A group of us went to try Bann, who was listed as part of the NY Asian Restaurant week. We chose very well. Food was great. I had to try their chicken korean barbeque. It wasn't dry and it was flavorful. Their pork rib appetizer and the noodles (appetizer and entree) were really good. We loved most their beef stew (sorry, I couldn't remember the name), it was just yummy! The dessert was good, we got a strawberry dessert and a banana pudding one. Service-wise, it was good. It was just funny that one of the busboys would go ahead and take your plate off without asking if you're done. It wasn't a busy night so I hope we weren't too rowdy that they're trying to rush us out. But still, they were pleasant overall."

  • "I didn't think the food was worth the price and even if it was less expensive, I felt it was off the mark. The service was good but when the product isn't there, it really doesn't matter. The tuna tartar was the big disappointment. The presentation was amazing (ie block of ice) but I couldn't eat more than two bites. The rest of the meal was ok as it was cooking my own beef and tuna so not much to pull the experience up. I wouldn't recommend the place but also wouldn't argue with someone if they liked it. It fell short of Korean BBQ standards in my mind."

Grill at the table or order cooked from the kitchen. Wanting to try the entire menu, we're only a small way through after delightfully dining over the past three years. Yummy!"
