Bann RestaurantGood happy hour at the barGood happy hour at the bar and good food at the restaurant.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMUpscale Korean BBQ!I always take my friends here before Broadway shows. The flavors are authentic Korean in an upscale setting. Go for the bbq cooked at your table, the meats are marinated deliciously and every bite is delicious!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistant qualityWe dine at Bann several times a year. The food is consistently good, if you know what you are ordering. Korean food, as with many ethnic dishes, is prepared with a variety of spices and seasonings, with varied degrees of "hot." We shared a Dol Sot Bi Bap (hot sauce on the side, because to me it is really spicy) and short ribs. Both were excellent. The service was excellent, as usual. I would suggest asking the kitchen to prepare the the dish unless you are expert at barbecuing at the table.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMNice spot with good food. This was my first time doing Korean BBQ and I loved it. The marinated ribeye was delicious and easy to cook. It was fun to cook the food as you ate and delicious. I will be going back.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious upscale Korean food.Authentic flavors with a modern twist. I loved the ddukbokki, the sea bass kimbab roll, and the salmon bbq. Everything was yummy and the service is always great. Looking forward to my next visit!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to Bann for lunchWe went to Bann for lunch before going to a nearby theater Sunday Matinee. We had little experience with Korean food and looked at the various online reviews before we came. The restaurant was not particularly full. Our fellow patrons contisted of family goups and some solo diners. There was only one waiter, though busy, was most pleasant and quite helpful showing us how the bbq worked and describing the side dishes. We ordered and shared the cellophane noodles with meat to begin with and then shared a "small" sized plate of two types of meat, shrimp, onions, and red pepper to bbq. For the two of us, bbqing our meal was fun but somewhat labor intensive. The food was delicious and it was worth the effort.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMBann offers a unique KoreanBann offers a unique Korean barbecue experience that is both delicious and makes for a fun evening. We ordered the full course for 4 people for $110 and were served a tremendous amount of food that had been pre-marinated and which we then cooked ourselves on the grill that was imbedded in our table. There was shrimp, salmon, duck, and three kinds of beef - all delicious. Plus a salad and rice of course. The restaurant itself is very attractive with its wooden tables, chairs, floors and walls. A very warm feeling. For something a bit different and good eating, I would certainly recommend Bann.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious Korean food in aDelicious Korean food in a lovely, modern, decor and surroundings. We ate early before a 7PM theatre. The resaurant was lively and full before we left. The built in BBQ is always fun to do yourself, and the tastes of the food are varied, fresh, and delicious. Service was attentive, friendly, helpful and not at all overbearing. We will return.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, excellentExcellent food, excellent service. The tabletop grill is great fun!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was terrific. ServiceFood was terrific. Service was outstanding. Blackened cod dish was phenomenal. Will absolutely make this a regular stop.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMVery impressedAll I can say that it was an excellent introduction to Korean food. The decor, the staff, the food... I couldn't have hoped for better or more.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. The "hum" near the window left us guessing that there may be a subway line beneath the place. Other than that and having to wait an inordinate amount of time for one of three entrees, the place was great. The vegan in our bunch found it easy to eat here. Another in our group does not like Korean food, but loved the food here. That says it all.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe barbeque is unbelievable. The barbeque is unbelievable. Finish it off with molten choclate cake. Great for groups. Tons of food! Really good apps as well3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Bul Go Gi BunThe Bul Go Gi Buns appetizer was amazing, So delicious. The Barbeque was also very good, but you have to cook it yourself on a small table grill. Still very tasty, but not my idea of going out to dinner. Wait staff was very attentive. If you use the coupon from groupon be prepared to be confused when you get your bill. There was only two of us and they included the gratuity. Als because you essentially get two bills which makes it difficult to see how the coupon was deducted and how much gratuity was added. Still a great place place with a calming type atmosphere.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMService was really good whenService was really good when we actually sat down but wasn't that great when we were waiting for our seats. Otherwise food was really good!!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMy mouth still waters thinkingMy mouth still waters thinking of the food at Bann. Our waiter was also extremely accommodating of vegetarian preferences, and he made sure to bring us our food quickly so that we wouldn't be late for our Broadway show. The only reason I can't give the service an "Outstanding" is because we had to wait twenty minutes or so to be seated, even though we had made a reservation through OpenTable. That made me extremely nervous about our Broadway show, and it made our meal a bit rushed.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGood experienceA unique experience with cooking the authentic korean barbecue. Waiter was friendly and helpful. Had to wait for 20 minutes even with the reservation, though. Price was right for a NYC restaurant. Will do at least one more time.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMI was new to Korean bar-b-qI was new to Korean bar-b-q and the waiter was very helpful in explaining the process and helping us select the best menu items for our introduction. We had a fairly short timeframe due to theatre - he made sure we got our food quickly so that we could enjoy the meal without feeling pressed.
Food was delicious. Try the Korean potato vodka.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
