He and I came in for dinner during vacation. We loved that you could view the menu items on a tablet at your table in full color and then ask questions if needed. All the items we ordered were well-prepared and delicious. We actually came back for lunch the next day when we biked to the Santa Monica pier. Perfect location too!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service at this sushiThe service at this sushi spot is EXCEPTIONAL. Everyone is so nice and helpful with ordering and any questions. I called on a very usy Saturday night to say I was running 10 minutes late and they said no problem and seated me as soon as I got there. My friend was very impressed and loved it too.
The food is really fresh, tasty and very reasonably priced. I only wish I lived closer so this could be a weekly destination for me.

I will certainly be returning.2/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA Welcome Addition to Ocean AveHaving been fans of Ozumo @ Santa Monica Place, we were happy to hear that Bamboo Izakaya was taking its place -- and in a much better setting. The new restaurant is beautifully designed and gives off a fun vibe without being too noisy. The revamped menu now offers a lot more small bites, along with some obvious concessions to those who pass on sushi (mini-cheeseburgers). But the quality of the sushi is excellent (as were the rolls and tempura) and the wait staff was warm and friendly. And the private rooms make it easy to throw birthdays and other celebrations there. Now we're just waiting to see if Bamboo offers some of the "locals' nights" that we loved at Ozumo!2/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
