The best salmon I have eaten came from Bambara, as has the best chicken I have ever had. The filet is always prepared nicely as well. Service is consistently good and the atmosphere is great for a romantic dinner and/or special occasion. The last two times that we have been (both in late Autumn and sitting near the window) it has been a bit cold. Bring a jacket, coat, shawl, scarf, blanket or Snuggie just in case.

Bambara has become one of our favorite restaurants in Utah. Everything on the menu is fantastic. Our latest visit was not as great as previous visits, but still good. I always love the Filet dish, but it appeared that something was added this time that gave it a weird aftertaste. The pear salad was to die for and I LOVE the chef-made ice cream sandwich. It is one of my all time favorite desserts.

Having read such good reviews for the restaurant, we had high hopes. Thankfully these were clearly justified, with a wonderful menu a, a great service and most importantly, fantastic food. As someone who takes dessert very seriously, I was very pleased by the delicious choice. The chocolate brownie/cake was one of the best I have ever had, which is very high praise indeed. Look forward to attending in future again.

Our waitress inquired if we were attending any shows so she could help meet our time constraint. Always a good sign. She was knowledgeable about the entire menu, made suggestions, seemed to always know when we needed something. We were on a date, both in suits, and she was attentive without being too much. The food was excellent as it has always been. We both had the daily Hawaiian fish and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. The bar made off-menu cocktails at our request and knew what they were (another sign of a great restaurant). The service and food are well matched for the price.

We stayed at the Monaco Hotel in Salt lake City, and rarely eat at hotel restuarants as we are generally disappointed with the quality of the food. We consider ourselves foodies from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Lovers of great food, not necessarily fancy, but fresh, seasonal ingredients. We decided to sit at a table in front of the open kitchen, and had a great time chatting with the chefs. We were treated to a special creation by one of them, and thoroughly enjoyed our whole dining experience. The food is delicious! The portions are on the large side and very satisfying, and the menu is perfect for the fall season. Returned for brunch and it was great, but personally i prefer the dinner menu versus breakfast/brunch options.

My husband and I were in Salt Lake City for one night and I'm glad we chose to have dinner at Barbara. I had the filet mignon with leak puree and fingering potatoes. The steak was so tender you could cut it with a fork and the flavor was amazing. My husband got the vinson with cauliflower puree. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the puree was delicious. The charming redheaded server was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Great beer and wine selection. I would definitely recommend this place for a special occasion, as it is a little pricey, but well worth it.

I wasn't sure what to expect with such mixed reviews, and this is a hotel restaurant. My husband and I went befor ethe opera and were very happy with our food, the service, and the overall experience. The wedge salads were great. I had iron skillet chicken, which was fabulous. My husband had steak frites, which he enjoyed very much, as well. Good wine list at reasonable prices. Ignore the naysayers and give this place a try!

Bambara is one of my favorite downtown SLC restaurants for lunch. I had never been for dinner until this last visit. It was absolutely amazing! Blue cheese house chips were fantastic as was the tuna tartar. Steak perfectly cooked served with house Frittes that are piping hot and perfectly seasoned. Sorbet was light and refreshing to finish. You won't regret your dining experience.

I started by going to the Vault. I almost had a heart attack when the bartender told be my margarita was $18.50. After I got over the shock I went to have dinner with a friend. Overall the dining experience was good, but the bar tab was over the top. The Vault is not For Employees Only and this is not New York.

It took 45 minutes of sipping on water before I decided to find and ask our waiter to take our order. The whole night was like that. The menu sounded delicious, but when my lamb came, it was tough and flavorless. The utensils were dull qnd old. It couldhave been so good. It wasn't for anyone at our table. Dessert was the only good part. If you want delicious qnd expensive food, go to Copper Onion or Log Haven. Not Bambara.

This was a wonderful place to celebrate my wife's birthday. When we checked in, the hostess wished her a Happy Birthday and we received special menus that said Happy Birthday (wife's name) on the top of the menu. Went to Bambara for my 3 year wedding anniversary. The service was excellent and the food is some of the best I've ever had. My only minor complaint is that we weren't quite sure where to walk in. We entered through the east-facing door and there wasn't any staff there. It felt like we'd walked into the back room, so we walked back out and went around through the hotels main entry. I'm sure it was just bad timing, but still, a nice sign to direct people would help.

We celebrated my wife's birthday here. The service was excellent and they brought a special dessert for her. New menu and the food was good but it was pretty expensive for 5 people. Our son got married at the Hotel Monaco. We preferred to take the wedding party to Bambara but it was Valentine's Day and they could not accommodate us. I like this restaurant but I think, they need to look at entree prices - $41 for 5 scallops I thought was a bit much.

Went here on the recommendation of a colleague. Started with the corn soup, nice and creamy, and the stuffed peppers, a little bland. She had the scallops, the corn/bacon medley it was served on was very good but a little salty. I had the pan seared chicken, excellent! The chicken was cooked perfectly, the skin was crispy and the grits and spinach were great partners on the plate. Overall, a good meal, would good back if invited.
