The atmosphere wasn't quite what we expected. Overall, it was a little below our expectations for a pricey fine dining experience.   • "Our group's first time at the Bald Headed bistro was nothing short of wonderful. We had reservations for a party of three on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was not crowded, but the patio bar was alive with people. I ordered the cowboy ribeye with blue cheese crumbles. It was cooked to perfection with great marbeling, and it melted in my mouth. One, if not the best, steaks I've ever had. The grilled asparagus side I added was nothing noteworthy, but a good compliment. The dessert selection was also outstanding. The service was impeccable. I will definitely be returning, albeit with an expectation of spending more than a typical restaurant outing."

  • "The BHB is a bit unusual in two ways. First it has a western ambiance coupled with southern charm and secondly the location is surprising. I was at first put off by the thought of going to a high end steakhouse in a strip mall but that thought quickly faded when we were greeted at the door by a smiling member of the service team. That set the stage for a very enjoyable dining experience. After an excellent cajun oyster appetizer we all enjoyed our dinners of very good steaks, fresh salads and excellent wines by the glass. We had a wonderful evening and we are looking forward to our next visit."

The wine list was discussed and that chardonnay which was served was something magnificent. The presentations of the food, beautiful! The synchronization of the servers was an artistic act and deserves accolades.   • "I travel up and down the 75 corridor on business frequently. This time I was with my wife and decided to stop somewhere for dinner. OpenTable helped me to identify a place to stop. We were delighted by the outcome. I am convinced that I would never have stopped at BHB if it weren't for OpenTable. BHB was not visible from the street, it was in a strip mall that did not speak to finding quality dining, and was not near a major city. Like Alice in the Looking Glass, we entered a different world when we arrived there. The service was excellent, but surpassed by the food that we were served. We recommend going out of your way to dine here, you will not regret it."

  • "We enjoyed one of the most memorable dinners in quite some time! Who would have known Cleveland, TN could have a first class dining experience. A little difficult to find since this is not a free standing restaurant but tucked in a shopping mall. The signage could have been better since your GPS will get you close but will not get you to the entrance. The Bald Headed Bistro's signature log exterior helped us to find the place. The covered mall walkway hosts the "bar scene" and it was very lively while the interior remains sedate, comfortable and enjoyable."

  • "We have been many times. It has always been a special place to go. It was Valentine's day. I had gotten reservations several weeks in advance. We were put in back room, which was ok, but not great. They put tables even in the doorway in order to get more people in there. The servers just seemed rushed. Our waitress was sweet, but very busy. Our water glasses stayed empty more than full. The maître d looked right past us several times when she was filling others glasses. My husband's New York Strip had more fat than meat. Lots of gristle. Worst steak he had ever had. The dessert was the best thing we had. This place is very pricey, usually worth it. This time it was not. We will try it one more time. If it is bad again, we will not return."

I appreciated my server asking the chef to accommodate a special request I had for my dinner. It was all fabulous and so much food. We ended up with leftovers.   • "We saw Bald Headed Bistro on Tennessee Crossroads a while back and last week it came up on my Open Table as restaurants around Chattanooga. I remembered it and we decided to try it. We ordered the tuna appetizer and it was fair. Everything else we got from the Crab Bisque to the filet and ribeye were wonderful! We had a great waiter, Justin. He was very nice and attentive. We will definitely visit them again."

  • "With 9 close friends and family, we converged on the Bald-Headed Bistro with my own bald-headed son! We came from Farragut, Maryville, Knoxville, Dandridge, Rockwood and Cleveland. We wined and dined and thoroughly enjoyed the food and fresh adult beverages. Ryan was our waiter and he was superb. The ladies wore dressy apparel and tiaras and the gentlemen were appropriately attired in suits. Many pictures were made of the food as it was camera-perfect. Can't wait to go again."

  • "Previously we have had excellent service and food so much so that we brought our good friends to dine with us last Fri. That experience was not the same. We were seated promptly and then sat for 5-10min before my husband finally got up to find a server. Our server spent a lot of time talking about her cat to the 2 top next to us.....We were definitely not a priority. Why is there a tv between the 2 lovely booths? Very distracting and our request to have it turned off was ignored. We will come back but will request Ryan to be our server! Our meals were great but 2 of us were hoping to have the elk which was not offered."

We were delighted with our waitress, Bonnie. She was so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She assisted in our wine selection which was a great choice of Reisling.   • "We went for a date night on a Thursday. It was very quiet. Not a lot of diners in the restaurant. I was between 3 different bottles of chardonnay. Our server gladly got the tasting notes on the wines I requested in order to help me decide and let us know that it was half price wine night for any bottles. We got a salad and split the porterhouse and we were full before we were halfway through. It was cooked almost perfectly. Ended with Crème Brulee that was pretty good, but not the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is always nice there and it's a beautiful restaurant."

  • "Even though friends spoke highly of the Bald Headed Bistro, this was my first time there. All of the personnel were attentive from the doorman to the waiters. The waiter expertly spoke about the menu items and the food items chosen were expertly prepared and very delicious. The variety of menu items was good. The ambience was conducive to creating a relaxing mood. The only distraction was the loud voices coming from a table of 8 patrons next to us."

  • "Great Service and notable food choices. Everything was wonderful though my Ribeye could have had an extra kick of flavor. Had appetizer, salad and dessert. Would definitely go back. You can tell thought went into the detail of the food to the decore. Fun, romantic place. Would definitely go back,l. Prices of apps, salads and desserts were very reasonable. Your steak came with a choice of one side. Price of steak higher than typical, but that is based in their quality of meat and origin. Great experience."

  • "The atmosphere was very good for our group (si parties) and the service was very good. Our food for the most part was very good; however, one of the gentlemen in our party ordered a ribeye steak and the steak was very fatty and not the quality of beef we would expect for this restaaurant. While the chef and the manager did stop by and apologize, not until the suggestion was made that an adjustment should be made on that individuals check did they agree to do so. I would think that suggestion should have been made by the wait person, the chef or the manager right away without the customer having to suggest it."
