"I hadn't been to BC in quite a while to eat, have just gone to meet friends for drinks. The staff were attentive without hovering, the food was served without delay which was hot, and above expectation great. Went there with a date so the booths and the romantic lighting were a total plus. Oh and the price point was excellent - rare in this day - lots of tasty food without being robbed. I will definitely be going again soon."

"The Balboa staff delivers finely prepared American classic cuisine (hamburgers, steak, pasta and fish) in an elegant room. The wait staff is attentive, informed and dignified. It is the sort of restaurant where you could take your rich old uncle from Pittsburgh or your goofy sister and her kids. Despite the name, it is a restaurant - not a cafe or diner - with a bar. It seems busy, but with an early crowd. By 8 PM, things settle down."

"Two lovely dishes--the Mahi Mahi with North African Spices, and the Loch Duarte Salmon -- most excellent and affable servers, and terrific wines by the glass made for a great meal preceding some great live music a block away. I could eat the cauliflower accompanying the Mahi Mahi dish on a daily basis. Making me very pleased to have moved back to Marin after 30 years away!"
