Diner Reviews
  • "7 of my girlfriends and I went here to celebrate my birthday and we had a fabulous time. The Earth, Wind and Fire tribute band KALIMBA puts on a wonderful show and makes it so entertaining. People can get up and dance too, which we did!"

  • "Considering it was a Tuesday, Bake's was moderately busy. Love the atmosphere! The food was wonderful and there seemed to be some great choices. We had the Pork Nelly and the Duck Sliders. YUM! Drinks were good and our first server was very knowledgeable of food and cocktails. We did order wine, but our server noticed the cork was dry and thus the wine was not suited for drinking. Overall the service was good, seems like we caught them in some transition, as there was confusion checking us in and one of our many servers mixed up our bill with the table next to us. Fortunately, a nice young man noticed the mistake and saved me nearly $30! I'll definitely go back on a more lovely night and check out the music."

  • "Love Bake's Place. We enjoy the late night shows after dinner when we can have a cocktail and enjoy the excellent line-up Bake's always seems to have. Excellent stage and sound. Best for people who really want to listen to music - it's a show, not background music so don't expect to do too much chatting while the show is going on. Staff are very amiable and efficient. We have eaten dinner there only once, and it was good. But we really go for the music."

  • "Felt so spoiled getting to see a favorite NW band in such a lovely small intimate setting with really good food & service with a little space to get up and dance even when the right song played along! Enjoyed clams, pumpkin gnocchi, and mu shu to eat after lovely french onion soup-very fun and tasty all. Attentive server, even with large group also in his section especially since he and we recognized once the music starts the serving essentially starts so we can enjoy the show so he worked to get us taken care of before show. Love this band and can't wait to see them again at this lovely intimate music loving location."

  • "This was the right spot for a Friday with friends. The Gotz Low Duo played a mellow compilation of cover songs from modern artists. The tempo was upbeat and just right. No cover, but tipped the band for what it was worth. I got the feeling that there's an "in" crowd at Bake's. I was lucky enough to book a 6:45 reservation for 4 people the night before. I had broccolini and lightly battered fish while my wife had the seafood risotto. The bacon-wrapped figs were a nice appetizer, but there was unfortunately very little to them. Drinks and food were slightly on the high side, but tasty nonetheless. No mint for a mojito, so bring your own or order margaritas. I had a beer and a Hendricks & tonic. All together the bill ran us $$$107 with tip."

  • "Our group of 8 had great seating right near the stage, but a bit too near the speakers too. The smaller venue was great for the Paperboys though because they are so personable, and they love fans to sing along and dance. Dancing: space very limited and not really compatible with dinner/dining. The fine-dining was outstanding and the staff was able to keep up with the pace of serving during a lively concert."

  • "It would have been nice to have some open area to dance. We did dance but had to navigate tables. At one point, virtually everyone on the main floor was dancing but we had to navigate tables. One lady, who was there for her birthday, was a challenge to dance with and that combined with tables made me very concerned. Fortunately, I have dance experience and held her carefull y as we danced to the blues band."

  • "If that is possible. And it is there. Great find and a hot secret."

  • "This was the best corned beef I have ever had. By far The best! The band was excellent, but was semi-Irish."

  • "We went to have a fun date night and to go see Kalimba, this is a Earth, Wind and Fire tribute band. Kalimba made this experience 100% more fun. If this band comes to this venue again we will again make the hour drive to come see them again. The service is fantastic, and the food was yummy. I believe this was one of the top 5 calamari appies that I have ever had! Their brussel plates are amazing too."

  • "Went here for my husband's birthday party. Great band Kalimba played. Food was awesome only drawback was they didn't separate the checks. A real pain when it comes to paying.otherwise, wait staff was patient and got everything right. Maybe they should let big parties know about the one check rule when reservations are made."

  • "We went to see a musical group that was very entertaining. Unfortunately some of the patrons that night were not very considerate. The couple next to us alternated between whooping painfully loudly for the band and then talking loudly during the music. Several people danced between tables right in front of other diners, blocking their view of the performers. I would recommend the venue if they had a no dancing policy as there is no dance floor. Otherwise sit in the balcony where no one can block your view of the stage and there is room to dance behind the tables if you feel so inclined."

  • "First time visit for me and my special lady. We had dinner and stayed until closing to hear the music. We had a very enjoyable evening and plan to return on a regular basis. A friend of mine recommended Bake's and now I see why!"

  • "Not enough lunch items on the menu and very little for pescatarians or vegetarians. I ordered the house salad with salmon and it was good. The salad seemed fresh. I presume it was farmed salmon. I would like to see them expand their lunch menu."

  • "Enjoyed a very nice New Year's Eve at Bake's. The food was very good and the R&B group that played was very enjoyable; talented and entertaining. Both my wife and I ordered a steak dinner as our entree and both were over-cooked beyond the doneness as described to us by our waiter. However, overall the food, from appetizer through dessert, was above average. I'm sure that we will go back and give them another chance."

  • "Overall we had an outstanding evening! Our one complaint was that the lamb burgers (ordered by both of us) were not cooked as requested. They were both well-done when we ordered medium rare and medium. We ate and enjoyed them anyway but expect we would have enjoyed them more if they were made to order. The calamari, salad and wine were excellent."

  • "My family went to see Tiller's Folly perform on a Sunday night. The performance was fabulous with the stage close-up and personal without being overly loud, plus the food was scrumptious."

  • "Great band (Ventura Highway Revisited), Food, Drinks, etc. My only objection is making diners also pay a $15.00 cover charge for a "cover band". We spent a lot on food & drinks. I can understand if it was some big-name act, but we saw this same band for only $5 at another club, and they had an actual dance floor for patrons to cut loose on (as it appeared many people there wanted to do but there was no room)."

  • "This is an awesome jazz club that is an unknown gem. Baker gets great acts and the place rocks every night. The food is also surprisingly good! We'll be back!"

  • "It was pretty loud could hardley hear my wife sitting across from me. The food was great and the wine was wonderful. music was good and service great."

  • "This is so much more than a jazz club. Food is excellent, atmosphere is wonderful, jazz is outstanding, biggest screen on the eastside - a classy place to cheer on our favorite sports teams!"

  • "We have been searching for a good jazz club since moving to the west coast........over ten years ago! There are a few decent places around Seattle/Portland to hear good groups. We haven't found any that have gotten the feel down..........until Bake's Place in Bellevue. Bake's is what a Jazz club should be. Excellent atmosphere, great food, pricing that makes sense, fully stocked bar, courteous/attentive wait staff, off-street underground parking and amazing, amazing bands. Just go, experience, and come back here and copy-paste my review.........I'm sure you will feel the same. Have an amazing night!"

  • "First time at Bake's. The food and music were much better than expected. Really like the balcony except for some loud talkers behind us who were able to be heard over an amplified 10-person band called Nearly Dan."

  • "First time there for dinner and show. Great viewing and sound quality. Quite a few servers and it was hard to keep track of who was taking care of us from initial order, delivery of food and bill. But it was fine and we had a great time."

  • "Bakes brings in some great musical groups but the food is lacking in variety and serving size. The portions are small for the price so eat before you go. The venue charges a cover charge and has a minimum $20 service charge per person. The appetizer menu doesn't have much to choose from so you end up ordering an entree which will be on the small side anyways."

  • "Three of us had lunch reservations at 2pm and spent a relaxed couple of hours catching up and planning. Great food-I had to share some of my parmesan kale salad it was so unexpectedly good! Soup was a corn and chili packed thai chowder, and my mates shared a wedge salad w bacon and tomatoes and more. Only the mu shu pork was really forgettable. Service was attentive and pleasant, and she had great menu advice while keeping coffee and tea updated as we talked. Ive been here before for dinner and shows, and love it. Knowing they are open all afternoon is fantastic! Oh, parking is only validated from 4pm on. Bakes was perfect for a long lunch to talk w great food in a great venue w a great Beatles' soundtrack on a sunny day. Thanks Bakes!"

  • "Bake's is a great place to go if you are looking to catch either a free show, which is really great music, or pay for a show. It is a small and liniment venue so you can still have a conversation. I didn't eat here but looked at the menu and there were a variety of options for vegetarians."

  • "I've gone to Bakes for a romantic evening, or a fun evening with visiting parents and wife, or a rockin' party with friends. Quality food, wonderful ambience, amazing sound system and lights, very friendly with great service - I cannot say enough what a special place we've got now on the Eastside."

  • "Great evening of food and music with Dr. Funk. Attentive service and everyone in the place had a smile and was dancing in their seat or by their table while listening to the funk, R&B, and soul from Dr. Funk. They are there the first Saturday of every month and are worth the cover."

  • "Great venue for a show or just drinks and dinner. We had many drinks which were made perfectly, burgers - the best, and risotto, wonderful. Craig and Laura Bake have put their heart and soul into delivering a wonderful venue for listening to a great group and choose their performers wisely. This evening was "Kalimba" the tribute band to Earth, Wind and Fire. The place was hoppin" Don't miss an opportunity to make Bake's Place your go to place. We love it there!"

  • "We had a guest in town and brought them to Bake's for dinner. Five minutes after we finished dinner a band was coming on and the waiter asked us if we wanted to stay and watch the band, and if so it would be $15 per person. Seeing as how we just dropped $225+ on dinner and drinks for 3 people we thought it was pretty classless to ask us to pay to stay. I have been to several restaurants, some less expensive than this one, that never asked us to pay or go. Bad business decision on their part since there were several open tables downstairs and upstairs and we would have stayed and ordered more drinks, which would likely be more than others dinner tabs. Lesson learned. Regarding menu-not very expansive but food is decent."
