  • Goodbye to Bailey's
    Mosey
    Dined on 6/3/2012
Unfortunately, we visited on their last night. They were out of a lot of food, and the staff (I suppose understandably) seemed distracted. The air conditioning was not working properly and we were very uncomfortable by the time we left. I wish we had left when we found out it was their last night. The food they did have was well prepared and tasty however, with the exception of the chocolate cake which was stale and had a disagreeable fruity undertone of flavor--like it had been stored too near something else. When we complained about that all the waitress had to say was "I never liked that cake either."

Bailey's was a hit again! Took another couple who had never been there and they loved it too! Between the garlic rolls and the chicken fried lobster stuffed avocado appetizer, who wouldn't love? Just as beautiful as ever and the service was great!

Bacon wrapped shrimp is delicious but it's hard to mess that up. We had the salmon which was ok but the real treat was dessert. You must try the carrot cake. It's all made in house and was absolutely amazing.

We went for lunch and sat outside and it was so enjoyable! The salads were delicious ("That" salad was recommended by our waiter. The maple sherry vinaigrette dressing, the fruit and candied pistachios made it very tasty). The bar inside looked very upscale and nice. Will definitely return in the evening to try out the happy hour and dinner.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 4/28/2012
We celebrated my boyfriends birthday on a Sat night at 7pm. Requested to sit by the water area & they accommodated. They surprisingly weren't very busy for a Sat. night. Place is a little pricey for the food not being excellent. Steak was wonderfully tender but not much flavor. The bfs steak was overcooked but we did not tell them. It's an inconvenience to send steak back. The bread was amazing. They signed a card and presented it at the dinner table when we arrived. Also gave a desert after out meals to celebrate his birthday. Would go back of they offered a 2 for special.

I was pleased to get last minute reservations on a Saturday evening, and I'm still very happy about our experience. Seated promptly in comfortable table, the restaurant has a "friendly upscale" feel. My scallops were delicious, and my husband ordered melt-in-your-mouth prime rib with the best mushroom side dish I have ever tasted. Our server, Mary, was delightfully friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and course preparations. One appetizer came to table under-heated and Mary took immediate action to return it to kitchen and they preapred us another one and took it off the bill. That is what I call good customer service. I will return, with friends and colleagues.

This was not a fine dining experience. The service was horrible, and they were not exceptionally busy. The waiter told the table next us about the specials, but not us. We were not offered a wine list, we had to ask about the selections. When the waiter came back to the table on a rare occasion and a second glass was ordered along with bread, the waiter never returned with either. The calamari was vey chewy, and when we mentioned it to the waiter he thanked us for telling him and did not offer to do anything about it. We got the impression we were not welcome and were being ignored. This was the first experience, and the last.

We meet friends at Bailey's for my husbands birthday. Everything was very enjoyable, the only thing is that the server dropped a steak knife that landed just to the left of my lap, as he was cleaning of the table. He was great other than that, he maybe should not try to carry so much at one time. Other than that it was a nice evening.

I took some work colleagues here a few weeks ago at the recommendation of one of our other colleagues and I was so impressed that I had to take my wife back on our date night. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is exceptional, and it the staff do an excellent job of providing excellent service without being right on top of you. The restaurant is upscale and cozy. Quiet enough to be able to carry on a conversation, but it doesn't feel too quiet or stuffy. The location is right in the middle of the 7th street corridor area near the Montgomery Wards plaza area that has been recently revitalized, so it is a great location for a night out. This is our new favorite find.

  • Better Options Out There
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 2/25/2012
The restaurant was extremely noisy and not very intimate or private. The food was, for the price, nowhere close to what you would expect. Given all the competition in the area for higher-end dining I expected better. Places that top my list are Del Frisco, Bonnell's, Eddie V's, etc, and based on the pricing, expected Bailey's to be in that category. Nowhere close. We both had the beef filet and mine had gristle, and the mashed potatoes were extremely bland. Given the competition, the service would be considered average. On the positive side, the bread was unique and very tasty, and the bar scene is very lively for a younger group. All in all, ther are much better values out there in this price range.

When we checked in with the yound gals we asked not to be placed in a corner booth. Be very careful what you asked at Bailey's. They seated us as far back in the building (back ballroom)as one could get. The serivce was good but the food took forever to get to our table even after asking our waiter to help us out. The bread was what we made most of our meal out of that night. (4 baskets full) The food was not our favorite. The BAND called The Mix was what made the night to remember. This is a great dance place but not sure I would spend the money to dine again.

Everything was perfect!! Our server Cody went above and beyond for us. The lobster avocado is an absolute must! We both had filets (6oz and 10oz) which were cooked to a perfect medium rare. The crimini mushrooms and cream corn were also knock outs. The wine list had a little bit of everything on it...we went with Cody's pinot noir suggestion. All in all everything was awesome! Recommend this place to anyone who wants a steak dinner better than del frisco and bobs. We will be back
