  • "First time here for Restaurant Week,, 3 courses for $30 until 7 p.m. Made a 6:45 p.m. reservation on Open Table, arrived at 6:40 p.m. Told the reservations weren't normal reservations and we have to wait 20 minutes, even though the walk-in wait was an hour. Asked if we could still get Restaurant Week promo, hostess said to check with waitress. We heard numerous people being called for tables, hard to believe that they were all reservations and not walk-ins. I checked after 30 minutes of waiting and was told we were 2nd in line, which was a lie. We then watched 5 more tables get called before us. Finally, after waiting 55 minutes we were seated. The waitress was kind enough to allow the promotion. Never returning."

  • "Had dinner this past weekend at Bahr's Landing. As always, the food was excellent - crisp cold salads, delicious fish! The blackened Mahi mahi was great - stuffed shrimp was enjoyed as well as the Fisherman's platter. We enjoyed everything!"

  • "One of the main reasons we choose Bahrs for different occasions is the combination of seafood AND German food...both outstanding! Wonderful friendly staff. Of course, great location and view"

  • "I had great expectations for this place. Although the location and view are unique neither the food nor the service are worth another visit. It was my dad 's birthday so I pre ordered a cake which was terribly overpriced and the waitress was very unfriendly. We felt we were bothering her when we had questions about the menu or needed something extra. In addition, the cake was supposed to be a surprise and she brought it to the table without a candle and asked whether i wanted it cut in front of everything. The food was not as good and fresh as it's claimed. I really regret choosing this place to celebrate my dad 's birthday. I normally tip my waiters gladly but this time i just did it out of courtesy."

  • "i know this place is popular and is always crowded on weekends, but it really needs an inside overhaul; dark, shabby and reminds me of an outdated catering hall, it's a hit or miss with the wait staff; everyone is friendly and helpful but i think they could use more help; the food is always good but i wouldn't call it special."

  • "We try and go there once or twice a year. We've been missing our seafood fix due to the cold winter and just needed to fill up on their excellent food. So a trip was taken. They just don't disappoint."

  • "Great Sunday afternoon lunch/dinner watching the ice float by on the river. What a view from just about anywhere in the restaurant. The food is what brought us here and it was delicious with their signature cole slaw and biscuits a bonus. Our first time here and we will definitely return!"

  • "This was our third trip to Bahr, we usually go for Sunday brunch and have enjoyed amazing seafood and that beautiful view. This trip we tried the potato pancakes along with the crab cakes and the outstanding chowder. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who lives in or visits New Jersey. We will be back!"

  • "Bahrs is an old well-known restaurant of which we don't go often but as it was a holiday we treated ourselves. Great experience. Used Open Reservations for call ahead, did not request window seat knowing it would be crowded. Maitr'd had us wait a few minutes & gave us a great window seat! Food was great, they did not rush us, view of the water so nice, overall a great experience. Definitely would go again for an occasion."

  • "Mom turned 85 and we wanted to do something different so we gave her a walk down memory lane starting at Bahr's - a restaurant that her and her parents frequented 60 years ago! The place looks great considering the age and storm damage. Staff were nice and made the visit great. Food is very good - crab soup, lobster bisque, friend shrimp, crab cakes, lobster roll, and on to the deserts were all enjoyed by our group. Since this was a special occasion it was nice that we could purchase mementos in their gift shop, which I normally do not like but Bahr's has some quality items."

  • "If you want to dine at a fabulous family-owned restaurant, Bahr's is the place to go. Daily specials are mouth-watering fresh; my arctic char Sunday lunch was fantastic. Superb wait-staff, bartenders Jeanne and Karen as well as manager Steve - who has a magical touch with decorating. Mr. Cosgrove and son Jay are always welcoming, friendly and genuinely happy to accommodate the loyal patrons. Highly recommended by the locals of Highlands."

  • "This is the second experience our book club has had with meeting for lunch at Bahr's and it was just as wonderful as the first time we lunched there. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, the sea food delicious and beautifully presented and, the atmosphere wonderful. Everyone in our group wants to return for our June outing."

  • "Pretty bad, food was pretty awful and service was too. At first we were put in a small room with one huge party, it was strange, who would want to be the only other table with a large group of 30 people and it was so noisy. Then, once we moved, no one was assigned to wait our table so we sat there for like 15 minutes trying to hail someone down then the food was just terrible."

  • "Bahr's never disappoints - hot biscuits and great seafood are always available. Their salads are big enough so you might want to share. Appetizers were great - the escargot, calamari and artichoke crab dip were all delicious. No complaints - always friendly service and lots of choices."

  • "We had our thanksgiving meal around lunch time, and several of our guests were going on to other thanksgiving meals. So some of us had the traditional turkey, stuffing, etc., which was quite tasty and a decent portion size. Others had fish, soup, salad or other meals and everyone was pleased and well fed. The service was excellent-- attentive but never overbearing. Prices were fair and reasonable. And the setting, above the marina, made for a very attractive scene. I would definitely bring the family back to Bahr's Landing."

  • "Went for Thanksgiving. I ordered the prix fixe. My dining companion ordered off the regular menu. My "turkey special" was dry and tasted very bland, the stuffing was dry, the cranberry seemed to be from a can, carrots were just okay - needed more butter or honey. Mashed pots. were only okay, needed more cream and butter. Just okay. My dining companion liked his lunch off the regular menu."

  • "Excellent experience. Although known for seafood, German food is knock your socks off good! Great views from table to marina. Service was excellent. Did not rush us out when done,"
    Dined on 10/12/2013
  • "Food was good, not great, though soups were very good. Reservation thru open table is not really a reservation and just a "call ahead" so when we arrived there was a minimum of 35 min wait. Luckily they were able to seat us outdoors right away because it was a chilly night, otherwise I would have been very unhappy! Also too expensive for quality of food. Would I return? possibly."
