Bahrs LandingBahrs always brings me backWent to bahrs as a child with my grandparents for all special occasions. After a 20 year hiatus living and dining in NYC, I have returned to the area and have dined here twice with family-Have yet to be disappointed. Husband exclaimed "this has got to be the best Manhattan clam chowder I've ever had". Menu packed with seafood, local catches, and "landlubber" section. watching the fisherman bring in their catch entertains all.Last visit was 4 adults and 4 kids under 4 but service was accommodating, efficient and friendly and our table by the window provided ample amusement for the kids enabling adults to enjoy themselves too. The view was great and the service people were the pride of Jersey's shore. The place was so packed last Mother's day and yet the staff remained calm and stayed very friendly. I'm a pretty picky eater so when I looked at the menu for Mother's Day it was NOT like the regular menu I saw online. I was very disappointed by that. The food was good but our waitress did not know a lot about the menu. We asked her about one of the dishes and her answer was I never had that one. Other wise she was fine and came to our table to make sure we did need anything also she came back to find out how the grouper since she had never had it. Both our meals were delicious. While waiting for your food, have a cocktail and enjoy the view of Sandy Hook...After dinner, have a specially brewed coffee and a fantastic chocolate parfait.
