A word from Bacon Bros Public House
Bacon Bros. Public House is an innovative gastropub where farm fresh products from Coal Fired Farms serve as the focal point. The seasonally driven menu of the new East Greenville restaurant offers a delicious selection of small plates and entrees, with most items priced under $15. The decor is warm and rustic with a dining room that features reused wooden pallets, an element that compliments Chef Gray’s passion for sustainability. Diners can catch a glimpse of the curing chamber, where menu items like the Bastardo Salami, Coppa Ham and Bresola are seasoned and aged to perfection. Simply put, Bacon Bros. is a great place for a relaxed dining experience with friends and family, or to meet for small bites and a craft beer or glass of wine after work.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Casual dining. A bit rustic, purposefully. But for the food the BBQ style restaurant is "upscale". Dry rub ribs, shrimp and grits, collard greens, best I've ever have had. They even have a vegetarian plate of grilled vegetables that is worth the trip! Great beer and Bourbon selection. BBQ and Boubon that won't disappoint. "

  • "Met up with friends here and all had a great time. Our server, Desirae, was quite knowledgeble about the menu items and attentive in her service. We started with the sausage appetizer....rabbit (different), andouiille (a little heat) and kielbasa (tasty). Then we had the BBQ Sampler which almost took up the whole table when served. Ribs were outstanding, as was the brisket. Even the chicken was sublime. Pulled pork was just ok and the kielbasa was again tasty! The sides were quite good (turnip green, BBQ beans, slaw and pickles) with the only complaint the quantity of these sides weren't enough to be shared by 4 adults. Will come back again!"

  • "you don't have a heart condition ;) The food is amazing, but healthy is not what they're aiming for. The various types and uses of bacon throughout the menu are phenomenal. I tried the beef bacon sandwich and loved it. We also had the pimento cheese with bacon jelly appetizer and a couple of sides with our entrees. Great food, decor and atmosphere in an unexpected place in town."

  • "Great place for lunch. Took about 45 mins, and had a great lunch, not rushed and the food was great as always."

  • "My husband & I went here for the 1st time for my husband's birthday this week. We got the pimento cheese w/ bacon jam, pierogies, and fried pickles for appetizers. While the pimento cheese was okay, the bacon jam was absolutely amazing. We were fighting over the last bite! My mom got the italian sausage w/ onions & peppers and she thought it was great. The rest of us either got brisket or ribs and those picks were each amazing. The ribs were really tender and flavorful. They were second best we've ever had next to Authur Bryant's in St. Louis, MO...and that's saying a lot."

  • "This is a great place for a stellar burger, rings and a beer. The menu has many items I would like to try, but I have to say the number of burgers on the plates coming out of the kitchen had me convinced that is what I needed to order. Food is great, bar is always full and can get noisy. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a nice casual evening out. Good food, service good. I would definitely recommend calling ahead for a reservation especially weekends, as it can get packed."

  • "We tried Bacon Bros. for the first time. The food was pretty good although we felt the portions were small for the price, but that wasn't a big issue, it was the service. We ordered salads and entrees and the whole experience took 1 1/2 hours! The people at the table next to us came after us, ordered appetizers and entrees and were leaving when our food finally came...but never got an apology from the server. Luckily as we waited 10 minutes to pay the bill...he disappeared and I flagged a guy down to pay our bill who happened to be the manager. He was very nice and made it right, but it was just luck we talked to him...but still left there with a very average experience."

  • "This is the third time that I have been there. I had eaten at the bar two previous times. I sat in the main dining room, and was served by Josh. He was very knowledgeable about how the food was prepared and what we could expect. The place was packed, it had a very good atmosphere, and really could not ask for much more. Definitely recommend to anyone."

  • "Try the pimento cheese-crackers with bacon-jelly appetizer. Very unusual but tasty. Have dined here several times on business nearby and found it to be a pleasant experience. Good job!"

  • "Loved this restaurant! The interior was cool. The wait staff was attentive, knowledgeable and very passionate about the food. The food was outstanding. Would definitely return when I am in that area."

  • "We walked in on a cold rainy day to the amazing smell of smoked meat and BBQ. The brisket was outstanding and the pork BBQ on a waffle was unique and tasty. Definitely recommend."

  • "Excellent food and service. My elderly mother was with us and could not hear the server describe the various offerings. He went to her end of the table and squatted down to her level and graciously went over things with her. She was very impressed and appreciated his extra effort, as did we all. In addition to the attentive, but not intrusive service, the food, wine and craft beers were all top-notch. A definite "do-over" for us and we all would recommend this restaurant to anyone."

  • "I'd heard great things about this restaurant so I wanted to give it a try. While the service was amazing, and food was great (with the exception of the grilled shrimp, it was fishy) I feel like it was slightly over priced. It's a traditional BBQ atmosphere including picnic tables out front, but the menu is more upscale. I'm glad I can say that I've been there, it was a neat experience but I'm not sure I'd go back."

  • "I have been to Bacon's for Lunch several times and it was always good. Decent service, interesting food, good concept -- not your typical barbeque joint. Took my wife for Dinner last Saturday - disaster! Painfully slow service, they screwed up my wife's order and did not even bring her entre. My "special" suckling pig was both spicy hot and taste-wise bland. Should have stuck with the menu choices. When we realized the second entre was a no-show we did not ask for a fix due the slow service. Order was probably messed up due the high noise level. Skipped desert. I will probably go back again for Lunch, but never again in the evening."

  • "Loved the menu. All the dishes I tried were better than described. Particularly liked the deviled eggs - delicious! The vibe of the place was very energetic & warm. The only negative was the service we received. We had reservations, but waited almost 30 minutes for a table. Our server may have been new, but she seemed to lack confidence. Spoke very softly & was not very attentive. Would have probably ordered more if she had asked."

  • "Was in Greenville recently on business and happened to have good friends moving there that day. We met for dinner here and were blown away. The food was fabulous and the beer options plentiful. I had the 12 hour smoked brisket and it was as good as I've ever had. One friend had the brisket mac and cheese which had a spectacular kick to it. It should be ordered and shared family style. Her husband had the pulled pork shoulder on waffles. Tried that as well and it was a great bite. Highly recommend Bacon Brothers if you visit Greenville or if you live there for that matter."

  • "Love all the in house cured and smoked meats. Sides are delicious! Banana pudding super yummy! But please put some alcohol in my $9 cocktail."

  • "The food is very unique and delicious, although a bit on the salty side for our taste. Most everything has a delicious smoked flavor to it. Very interesting and unique drinks, using liquors specially formulated by the restaurant. the service is very good and everyone is very friendly and attentive."

  • "This was our first time at this restaurant. Food was very good. We had pimento cheese appetizer, brisket platter, burger, and fried bologna sandwiches for main course. All meals were delicious. Would have given it 5 stars except that it was a bit too salty for my liking."

  • "We keep going back because it has some of the best food in the region! In addition, the staff are very pleasant and efficient. The manager is paying attention to what's going on and the maintains a quietly friendly atmosphere. Everything they offer is high quality and creatively prepared."

  • "My third visit, and the food was delicious. The restaurant was very busy and LOUD. It was hard to hear the food server as it was hard for the food server to hear me. I did feel a little rushed."

  • "We had reservations for 8PM and were told when we arrived that they were "Running Late". We were seated 45 min. later only when we decided to sit outdoors. It was another 15 minutes before our waiter took our order. Ordered a drink from one waiter we someone finally came outdoors. Drink never came. When we aske dour waiter about it he said Oh that drink was for you guys. I thought it was for another table. Anyway we are out of it. The veggie plate came with rice and another gnocchi and two green vegatables. Not what I was expecting for a "Vegatable Plate". Probably won't be going back anytime soon."

  • "Great new place. Informal but good for almost any kind of dining. Superb food and service. Has character and is friendly with excellent menu, read the details. We love the meats and the roasted turnips. The Dinosaur Kale salad was amazing, with pecans, pomegranates and more!"

  • "A server from another very good restaurant in Greenville recommended Bacon Bros. to us and he was spot on! Our meal was terrific and the serving team was right there but never intrusive, a great recommendation and find - sharing other family that travels and Que as well."

  • "The place is awesome. They make everything from scratch from the bacon to the crackers. We had an awesome burger with a fried egg & of course bacon. The pulled pork & waffle is a wonderful combination. Bacon Bros Public House is definitely should be on your list of favorites. Its on mine. Better make a reservation the line can get long. Because everybody loves bacon."

  • "I loved everything about this place. From the interesting cocktails, great beer list and amazing food and desserts. Went with our 3 year old son and everyone had a good time and enjoyed their food. The pork belly pastrami is one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. Usually don't go for desserts but we couldn't pass up the banana pudding. REAL pudding folks...no instant stuff here. Just awesome all the way around and I can't wait to go back."

  • "The restaurant is very good if you like pork. The pimento cheese appetizer is my favorite. Nice bar area. Kid menu which is nice for the little ones. I recommend making a reservation because the restaurant is small and you will have a long wait if you don't."

  • "We started out the evening at the bar, fun times, moved on to dinner, even better! There was a question about one of the chicken wings (just one) and the next thing you know we aren't charged for them and got some free popcorn. It was YUMMY! Great staff, great food!"
    Dined on 11/15/2013
  • "Contrary to the name, this restaurant is not just about meat! Although the meats are excellent. I go for the fresh farm-to-table vegetables. The "pre-chosen" vegetable plate they offer is always interesting . . . and good. Or you can select your own vegetable plate from the Sides menu. It's a bit noisy but guess that's part of their casual charm."

  • "Great menu with interesting interpretations of southern classics. Have been here a few times now for lunch with clients and we've always had great food and great service."

  • "We tried the chef's selection meat board, the potater tots, and deviled dust eggs to start. We ordered entrees, although we were already too full to totally appreciate them, along with a side of Farro Verde - boiled peanuts, field peas, and hominy. Everything was uniquely prepared and delicious - even the cocktails. We've already been spreading the word to friends and family that Bacon Brothers Public House is a "must" on their restaurant to-do list!"

  • "We loved Bacon Bros. We were given an excellent table after booking through opentable. The menu was exciting and diverse. The food was all excellent. We would appreciate it if they would mark the spicy foods on the menu, though, as my palate is quite sensitive, and something unexpectedly too spicy can hurt my tasting the other foods. We will definitely return to this restaurant, as well as recommend it to our friends and family."
