Back Bay BistroThis was our first time andThis was our first time and we were totally "wowed"! The food was fantastic; the Diver Scallops melted in your mouth, the Crab-Stuffed Salmon Pinwheel--well what can I say--where would you ever find something as luscious (and beautiful) as this? The Seafood pasta had more seafood than you could count--wanted to lick the plate. The prices were great too!
And sunset on the bay with the roof cranked open--priceless.
We will definitely be back, even with the 50 mile drive!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMI noticed the menu has hadI noticed the menu has had a few welcome updates. This is a great casual spot for breakfast or lunch. It has a very nice ambiance with a back bay view. A plus is the outside patio dining is pet friendly too!
The only downside was the noise level inside. It was difficult to hear our conversation at times.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat way to start your day!Our group of 6 was attending the Newport Beach Jazz festival on Jun2, 2013 and we wanted to get together for breakfast before the concert. I found Bay Back Bristo on Open Table. It was great because the festival parking was in the same lot as the restaurant. We parked and walked a few feet. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the Head Chef and then, the waitress guided us to our table which had a view of the bay.. We placed our order and the food came out very quick, hot and delish!. We will return.. The highlight was on Monday morning news, the Head Chef that we met was on there cooking a Sefood Boil for their SeaFood Month special...6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBack Bay BistroFirst time there. We made reservations, but it was totally unnecessary as only about 1/4 of the tables were occupied when we got there at 7:15PM. The views were great, the food was very good, but service was a little slow, especially at the beginning. Took a little too long to get our drinks and some bread to munch on before ordering. After ordering, however, it was not so bad. Everyone was very nice. We will definitely give it another try.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMReally enjoyable experienceatmosphere was very very enjoyable, food was terrific, our group had the Seafood Pot Pie and Kobe Burgers - both were really really good. View was very nice with sun setting over the water. We'd go back for sure.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat locationWonderful unique hidden spot.
Food was just average, but the location Makes it worth the trip.

We asked for patio seating on the water and it was so nice and quiet. Recommend a light jacket or sweater for the evenings.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLove to go by our Duffy toLove to go by our Duffy to Back Bay Bistro. We had a wonderful time! The variety of the lunch is great (waffles, French toast, shrimp, crab, prime rib, fruit, cake, etc). We were having such a good time, we transitioned to the bar area for cocktails. It was a really nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAfter 10am on Sundays, thereAfter 10am on Sundays, there is no menu. You have to eat the buffet.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ViewCelebrated a wedding anniversary here with excellent seafood, cocktails and a surreal sunset. Seafood pasta was a hit. Nice varied choice of wines and great atmosphere.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I went here forMy wife and I went here for lunch while visiting Newport Beach. It had a great view. The fish tacos were excellent and our waiter was very attentive. It was a little chilly, but on a warm day sitting outside would be great. The only negative thing I can say is that it was a bit hard to find but all you have to do is drive to the far back parking lot by the water.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday Fun DayOverall was an excellent experience. I was able to easily find dock space for my boat for Sunday brunch. Was spat immediately with a great view of the water. Scott and the bartenders had great customer service and were fun to be around. I recommend Saturday and Sunday brunches!!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience as always.Great experience as always. The food quality has been improved.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Sunday BrunchI've been to the Sunday brunch twice now and expect to do so again. A very nice selection of food but could do with addition of a bread selection and toast points for the smoked salmon.

Irvine4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGood brunch spotSunday brunch with friends was fun at this spot. A decent selection of buffet items to please a crowd. Unlimited champagne of course is quite nice. The ceiling lets a lot of natural light in--just FYI. I wore my sunglasses while I ate.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNice brunchVery good food and service. Beautiful view and helpful personnel.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBack Bay Brunch! We went ot back Bay Bistro for Easter brunch and had a wonderful time. The restaraunt is very open and airy with beautiful views of the bay. The buffet was excellent and included smoked salmon, made to order omelets, oysters and all your breakfast/brunch favorites! The service was top notch and it could not have been better. This was our first time to the Back Bay Bistro and I would highly recommend it to my friends and family.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat setting, excellent service.Great setting, excellent service. The brunch price was high considering some of the
Food trays were empty and the desserts were nothing exceptional, We were the first
seating.and the displays were still being set up. The champagne was delicious and free-
flowig, however!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMA fabulous array of deliciousA fabulous array of delicious food in so many different categories for the Easter brunch. Very attentive servers...and really DID seem to be endlessly pouring the champagne. Our server, Trevor, was especially wonderful in making sure the Easter Bunny didn't miss our table. Lovely to dock the boat and sit outside for Brunch along the water. This is our second consecutive Easter Brunch at the Back Bay...both years were perfect!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper Birthday LuncheonA group of four women celebrating birthdays had a delightful lunch at the Back Bay Bistro. Upon arriving, we were immediately struck by the ambiance. Our waiter was so friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely return again.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMKleinhans Wine PairingI attended a wine dinner w/Chef Kurt Schaeffer & Sommelier Joey Kleinhans. Of the 9 wines served, I was only underwealmed by one domestic Zin; The rest were outstanding, Especially the Chateau Petitie Bocq and the Sangiovese. The food was excellent: The reduction sauce (served over lamb,) micro greens garnish and artichoke gratin were lovely. The mushroom bisque and the poached scallop with lemon cream sauce were so very delectible. I liked the cheese cake, but could hardly take more than a bite or two after the richness of the meal & would have preferred something lighter. The sauternes served with it was delicious.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA very large group of 20+A very large group of 20+ went last Sunday for a birthday brunch and we had a fantastic experience! The food was delicious and the service was awesome! Will definitely recommend.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch on St. Paddy's DayBrunch on St. Paddy's Day was great. However, table I requested was not available.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMQuiet, food was great, viewQuiet, food was great, view is great. It is always nice to sit by the water and have a great meal.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat location, food meh.I liked the restaurant and it's location. The food was great, but the crab cakes were just horrible. The lighting on the outside for evening dinning was almost nonexistant, and the lacked warmers. The silverware was in far worse condition and in quality that Olive Garden. The fillet mignon was outstanding. This wanna be tamale that accompanied my fillet was just a crime to put it in the same plate as the fillet mignon. The server was outstanding and the supporting staff as well.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMA Relaxing Sunday AfternoonOur 24 year old daughter loves it. Her boyfriend took her to Sunday Brunch here and she fell in love with it. We had dined here before, but never for Brunch. When we asked what she wanted to do for her birthday, this is where she wanted to go and take some friends. So, my husband and I took my 92 year old mother, our daughter and some of her friends for Sunday brunch for her 24th birthday. EVERYTHING was delicious as usual. We definitely be making it a habit! The food is so fresh and tasty and who doesn't enjoy free flowing champagne...not to mention the beautiful view...=)3/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
