Food was very good as was the service: attentive without overpowering. Good basic Italian menu. Kept replacing great tasting bread basket for hungry teens without even asking and filled water glasses. Reasonable price point for quality and quantity of food. Seafood Risotto was excellent with visible pieces of lobster, scallops and large shrimp. Gnocchi was also tasty. Portion sizes were large and service was well paced, not too fast or slow. Enjoyed raspberry ricky martini with real raspberry puree. Seating in upstairs was airy and light with windows looking out on N. It's the place we take out of town guests because the food is consistently excellent. It's not just standard Italian like chicken parmesean, but more creative Italian yet not intimidating. Hubby had veal parmigiana with ceasar salad & I had chicken piccata with caprese salad. Everything was amazing! Wine selection was greay too. Plus, the service was fantastic! From our hostess to the waiter to the bartender, everyone was friendly, attentive, helpful and all had a warm smile on their face. The only things I didn't like were very small things: stairs to go upstairs to seating (not that I didn't like it, just didn't prefer it, my boyfriend has a hard time with stairs) and the fact that the tables were so close together. Both my boyfriend and myself were touching chairs with the people behind us.

The food was very good. One main course was not quite hot enough.

While I thoroughly enjoyed my food and libations, my 8 year old did not at all appreciate the menu. They do not serve pizza (unless you pre-order when you make a reservation), fries, ketchup, or ice cream. To quote my 8 year old, "what kind of Italian restaurant doesn't have pizza?!" LOL! My recommendation is to leave the kids home & enjoy a night out with more seasoned companions!
Bon apetite!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friend and I enjoyed ourselves.My friend and I enjoyed ourselves. The food was great and our waiter, Ben, was outstanding! He went out of his way to make our experience a memorable one. He was friendly and pleasant and made us feel like family.
When we visit Boston again we will surely make it a priority to have dinner at Bacco's!
