But everyone was so nice and accommodated our rush with a quick and absolutely delicious pasta.   • "We've had High Tea at the Wedgewood for several years. The last few visits have been a little disappointing in terms of the quality of the food. The bread is sometimes dry and on the last occasion (Mar. 30th), the scone was inedible. With one glass of Sparkling wine, it comes to $110.00 for two. I'm not sure this is a good value anymore. The one thing that is still outstanding however, is the the ambience of the Bacchus Lounge - nothing else like it in Vancouver. Another item worth mentioning is the good service."

We each chose something different from the menu and none of us were disappointed. We ordered a couple of different desserts to share and one was brought with Happy Birthday written on the plate and a candle in it. That was a nice touch. Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Bacchus and would dine there again."

  • "We went on a Friday night with our reservation at 7:30pm. The server was very attentive and knowledgable of wine and recommended a good Italian red. Our party of six ordered steak, Halibut, Veal and kids meals, desert. Food was very tasty and price was very reasonable. Will definitely visit again next time we are in Vancouver"

  • "You can't go wrong with going to Bacchus for a nice brunch on the weekend. We were here for a birthday celebration for a party of three. We were seated very quickly and the maitre d' gave us a choice of different seating locations. The food was great as usual and they were very accommodating to my gluten-free preferences even though none of the food items were listed as gluten-free on the menu. The only complaint that I have is that our waiter wasn't very attentive. I asked for gluten-free bread and it didn't come until a half hour later even though the regular bread arrived promptly. He was also very slow in bringing us cups for the tea we ordered."

The place was full of people and yet the service made you feel you were the only customer. It was difficult to select an outstanding entrée from so many tempting choices. The Servers will help you.   • "I love the atmosphere of this restaurant, very calm, elegrant and romantic. Everything was amazing, from check in to check out. Our room was beautiful, stylish and very clean. Dinner at Bacchus was very enjoyable, although the restaurant was busy with Dine Out we did not feel rushed thanks to our waiter. I had the Keta Salmon and my husand had the New York striploin both dishes were delicious. Breakfast the next morning included in the package consisted of granola, fresh fruit, fresh juice, coffee and pastries. Our expereince was so enjoyable I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel and will make a point of returning soon. Thanks to all for a great experience!"

  • "We went for dine-out, so the place was packed. Even so, with tables very close to one another, it managed to maintain a romantic, elegant feel. The waiter was lovely, and the service beyond reproach. We had the mushroom soup and pate as our respective appetizers, and both were delicious, the pate was rich and delicious, melted in your mouth and definately left me wanting more. We followed this with the tenderloin (cooked to a perfect medium rare - so many places can't seem to get this right!) and chocolate creme brule. The wine pairings were also very good. I have only been for lunch in the past,and the regular priced dinner menu is not cheap, but will be adding this restaurant to my "special occasion" list."

  • "My husband and I tried the Bacchus for dine out. We very much enjoyed our meal, salmon and beef tenderloin. Our server was excellent and overall service outstanding. We enjoyed a warm, comfortable atmosphere (fireplace, comfy seating and a quite bar scene which gave the room a little more energy, which was good. Our only slight negative was their PRICEs on wine. Yes, they did have some nice ones, but we felt the prices were defintely over normal for a restaurant. We had a CA Pinot Noir Moenie (not sure spelling) which is priced at $24.99 at Everything Wine. We paid $82 at Bacchus. Overall nice experience."

All of our experiences were enjoyable from the start and ended with the most enjoyable meal of all at Bacchus Restaurant. The food and the service were both oustanding. I might have selected a little different table if I had been given a choice, but other than that it was the best meal of our Dine Out 2014 experience. We're looking forward to next year."

  • "My wife and I dinned at the Baccus Resturant t and the evening was exceptional. The decor is opulent and the service warm, meticulous and friendly. We dined from the dine out Vancouver menu and all was excellent and in particular the desert was exceptional and so was the wine paring. It was a Thursday evening and the restaurant was pretty full, which was lovely with a very tender and loving waiter (Roberto) . All round a great experience. Must go again and recommend to friends."

  • "Went there for dinner on January 31. Extremely noisy there. The striploin was too chewy and small portion, mushroom soup was too salty for us; we so far like duck confit was crispy and juicy, chocolate cream brulee. If the waiters stop kicking and rushing my chair.. it'll be fine.. there's a lot of space behind me..still can kick me.. beside I saw few waitress broke glasses while they set up another tables without picking up small pieces of glasses from the table. its pretty dangerous. Another blonde hair lady was so rude to tell me wheres the bathroom is.. food and services are not good as the others .we wont go there again. They rude my Chinese new year dinner. We rather go to le Crocodile instead.."

Our experience (coming from one who has been in many restaurants of the world) started with the worst table in a dingy small room, perhaps in part because of the booking through Vancouver dine-out 2014. Waiter was very unwelcome and didn't even bother to ask how, e.g., one would like the stakes to be. He seemed to be on the run to finish quickly as possible. I noticed similar behaviour with the adjoining tables. It seemed that they had clubbed together all Vanvouver dine-out 2014 customers. I think OpenTable should have negative stars in its rating. My rating for Bacchus is minus **. For french food, I will highly recommend "Old Surrey Restaurant". Bacchus is nowhere close to it in french cuisine."

  • "Our group adores the lounge area and the 4 of were extremely lucky to be seated in the lounge area in what we feel is the best location in the lounge - beside the window at the end closest to the front door. The ambience of the lounge is superb; However the TV is out of place. Our server Shaina was the most wonderful attentive person without giving the felling of being constantly interruped. She is a gem and the restaurant is very lucky to have her."

  • "Dining companion thought Bacchus usually has better food than a lot of downtown high end restaurants. Our Dineout salmon was nicely cooked,(not overdone), but the seasoning was very weak. My duck was so overcooked that I almost broke my tooth on several hard pieces. We 4 thought all of our entrees were not very flavorful. The liver pate was excellent and the chocolate crème brulee was lovely but the fruit crumble was much too sweet. Our waiter was not very charming or attentive, even though he did serve us properly .We did have a lovely dining experience, in spite of the average food and service, probably because we 4 were so happy to be dining together."

Service was as expected, may be a bit slower given it was during busy dinner hour. Food was decent, certain parts were bigger highlights than others.   • "Considering it was dine out and the restaurant was very busy the service was excellent. The waiter was attentive and we didn't want for anything. The wine was paired perfectly with the meals which arrived quickly. The steak was wonderful and my partner enjoyed the duck immensely. Despite the fact the restaurant was full we had no problems carrying on a conversation. The atmosphere was cozy and warm."
