BabylonThoroughly enjoyedI have passed Babylon so many times driving through downtown Raleigh (easy to do, it tends to sneak up on you) and was always intrigued by this little gem tucked away off a busy street. My partner and I opted to go there for dinner a couple of nights ago. The restaurant is beautiful, and the outdoor dining is great. The food was wonderful and our server was patient and attentive. He told us that they have a DJ on the weekends, and we will definitely be back to experience that.
Great experience, highly recommend!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and the staff wereThe food and the staff were absolutely amazing. Prices were reasonable and the ambiance is spectacular. In a city with more restaurants than I can count, Babylon has now become a top five!!!!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food & AmbienceThe design of the outdoor seating is beautiful. The food was delicious.
I will definitely recommend it to my friends and go back.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe outdoor patio dining experienceThe outdoor patio dining experience at Babylon is one of the great dining treats of the Triangle. Exotic, exciting, and romantic as the evening turns to night. Decent food at reasonable prices, accommodating service. A great time. This is our 3rd time out on the patio and all have been wonderful, memorable times.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMA perfect evening get awayWhen you step through the doors of Babylon, you're immediately transported to a place where the tribulations of work and time dissolve into the beautiful atmosphere of a seductive Moroccan restaurant and lounge. The inside is exotic and warm, with exposed antique wooden beams, intricate ornate tile ceilings and hand-made metal lamps. The reflection pool and exotic outside terrace set the mood for perfect al fresco dining or an evening cocktail at the hand-made mosaic tables or covered outdoor bar. Amazing food, attentive service and a great wine list add to the list of features that make Babylon a remarkable find in the heart of downtown Raleigh.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMRUN, Don't WALK, to BABYLON!As first timers, we had heard several good things about this Moroccan eatery, and all proved to be true. The only "bad" thing was that they had run out of the particular tempranillo wine we wanted. But we just ordered another one! All the appetizers were incredible, including the mussels (which are often not). The tangine pots are beautiful, and the treats within so yummy! We ordered a variety: the lamb, the vegetarian couscous, the steak. Our server, Andi, was a pure delight and so knowledgeable! Josh the bartender even checked on us! All of us were positively delighted with each and every dish we ordered, and we cannot wait to return!!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for Sunday brunch. We went for Sunday brunch. The word brunch implies 2-meals yet our portions didn't qualify for 1. The food was good but insufficient in size. Recommended for smaller people, not average sized.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMVery much worth the priceMy husband and I heard Babylon's radio ad and decided to make reservations for our 1 year anniversary. The restaurant was so relaxing and romantic. The service was impeccable! Our waiter took the time to explain the dishes to us, always had a pleasant attitude and smiling, and our water glasses were never empty. The food was exquisite. We decided to try a few things because everything sounded amazing. The prosciutto and cheese plate was divine and their hummus is almost too good to be true. My husband ordered the mussels and, while I do not care for the texture of mussels, the flavor was unbelievable. I really felt as though I were nestled among the spice belt of Morocco. This restaurant is most definitely worth the price.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous. Go there to experienceFabulous. Go there to experience it at least once. The atmosphere was festive and fun - lots of groups dining out on the patio. Our server was great at explaining the menu and the food was Moroccan-authentic. There was a good bit of road noise coming off of Capitol Blvd - but not so much a conversation couldn't be had. We are very much looking forward to our next visit to Babylon!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome food and service.Awesome food and service. Very cool place. I will be going back. Some parts of dining area are tight to pass when patrons are present due to proxmity of tables3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to Babylon for ourWe went to Babylon for our anniversary. Living in Raleigh, you tend to get alot of nice but boring restaurants. Babylon creates an ambiance of what you would expect in a large city and has an "edge" to it. Food was imaginative with just the right amount of exotic spices. Josh, the manager was very knowledgable and proud of Babylon. We are now looking forward to taking friends for late night dining outdoors as well trying Sunday Brunch. Great discovery that we are sharing with friends.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMMy lovely girlfriend and IMy lovely girlfriend and I visited Bablyon in Raleigh for the first time in early March this year. It was great - the food, specifically!
We shared the Fetard salad - Spinach, Apples, Raisins, Toasted Walnuts and Feta Tossed in Apple Sherry Vinaigrette and the PROSCIUTTO & CHEESE PLATE - San Daniele Prosciutto, Spanish Chorizo, Manchego & St. Andre, Moroccan Marinated Olives, almonds and honeycomb before we attacked out entrees!
And we both, uncharacteristically, chose the same entree as our main course this evening:
GRILLED LAMB, Royal Couscous Tfaya Grilled Lamb over a bed of couscous in a caramelized onion raisin sauce.
I must say we were not dissappointed in the least! This was a very delicious night out!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I ate at BabylonMy husband and I ate at Babylon on Friday night March 15th. We loved everything about this place. Food and service were superb. The only bad thing was we sat near the bar which was fine at first but then there was a party of 60 that came in and stood at the bar and were extremely loud. we will go back but just sit in another area.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGive your review a title (optional)Had an excellent dinner at an excellent restaurant.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
