Babette's is something special, and I'm so glad we celebrated our 15th anniversary there. Unlike most restaurants in Atlanta (trendy, warehouse sized, and with an overly extensive menu), Babette's is cozy and truly romantic. It's small, the lighting and decor are perfect, service is outstanding, and it's not at all noisy. Words cannot describe how good the food is; it's definitely the best french cuisine in Atlanta. We started with the mussels, which were extraordinary, and the mushroom and spinach crepe. My husband had the wild mushroom broth and the cassoulet, and luckily, he let me sample both. I had the pork special - simply amazing. We finished with a very special dessert. I cannot wait to dine at Babette's again!

My wife and I were entertaining friends from Boston. The food was beyond excellent as was the service. The only thing that marred the evening was the presence at a nearby table of a large group who was extremely noisy making conversation at our table difficult. Our dinner selections included the sole, roasted chicken, and scallops. I am anxious to return on, hopefully, a less noisy night.

My wife and I went to Babette's, our favorite restaurant, last Friday. As always, the food was outstanding. My wife had the short rib special and I had the cassoulet. Both were prepared to perfection. Robin's service was typically attentive and friendly. Can't say enough good things about this fantastic restaurant.

It's convenient to midtown and a very nice local place. Complimentary valet parking is nice. Food was excellent, though portions somewhat on the smallish side (not necessarily a bad thing, just good to know). This restaurant has been on my 'bucket list' for a while, so I'm glad we finally had a chance to go and experience for ourselves.

Babette's Cafe never disappoints. The food is meticulously prepared and delicious. Servers are professional, attentive and very helpful. Valet parking makes it easy to arrive and depart, and there's a first-rate bartender in addition to a very fine selection of wines. Babette's Cafe is not about "show," it is conscientiously about, quality -- never over-the-top, but consistently satisfying food featuring tried-and-true favorites augmented by seasonal dishes, all offered in a wonderful atmosphere at exceptionally reasonable prices. White-table-cloth but not stuffy. Even when the dining room is full, it's not so loud that you can't have a pleasant conversation at the table without having to shout.

In my world, one resource for restaurants is OpenTable. While searching for a place for dinner, I came across Babette's Cafe. I love the name, the reviews were good, and so I reserved a table for my husband and I. What a gem! The ambience is attractive with original art. The service is helpful, friendly and attentive (ask for Stephen P.). And, the food attractively plated and delicious. We recommend the Veal Piccata and Beef Tenderloin, the Beets with Feta and the Spaghetti with Pancetta, oh, and for a finishing touch, the Chocolate Bread Pudding. Babette's does fine dining well.

We have never had less than an outstanding meal and experience coming to Babette's. We seem to be stuck on one wine, though. It seems to pair perfectly with everything in the last three visits. I will not tell you which wine that is, though. Election night across the street at Manuel's was the hot spot while we chose to visit Babette's .... nice and quiet.

Babette's Cafe is nicely tucked away in the Virginia Highland area; an old house that has been converted into a restaurant. The menu was small but interesting. The service and prices were reasonable, but the food just didn't do it for me. Food presentation could have been better. I tasted the lamb chops which were ridiculously TENDER. I ordered the Chicken Chantrelle which was a wrong choice. The restaurant is tight on space, so keep your dining group small. Nice wine menu. Rosalyn Ladies Fine Dining Club

My mom was visiting from out of town and is extremely picky about where she dines. A friend recommended Babette's so we tried it. It is the only time in the last 5 years that my mom liked a restaurant that we have tried with her here in Atlanta. She liked the quiet comfortable atmosphere, our waitress was outstanding and the food was great. We all tried the price fixe menu that is offered Tues-Thurs evenings. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be back!

When will Marla celebrate a quarter century here? It may be our 25th return for an anniversary, or close. Of course, we've "returned" in the intervals, too, as we've explored elsewhere on important occasions, but we've always returned for the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere. This visit, we departed from our "usual" entrees, and weren't disappointed, but our infidelity demands that we return for our treasured tenderloin beef and seafood very soon. We'll be back and back again.

This was the last Sunday for brunch at Babette's and maybe that was a contributing factor, but service was slow. The restaurant wasn't as full as it has been on previous visits, so it didn't appear to be an issue with too many patrons. The food was fine, but took a long time to come out and our coffees were never replenished, so by the time the food came out our cups were empty. Maybe it's better that brunch is no longer an option.

As per usual, Babette's Cafe does it again. Went here for my anniversary dinner and it was spectacular. I have been here before and this was hubby's first time. Put it this way...the next morning, the first words out of his mouth was "Can we make reservations for Babette's?" Such great value here and the wait staff is friendly and not too stiff, which is what we usually encounter at other restaurants. Babette's doesn't ever feel stuffy but still feels special. That's hard to achieve. Chef Marla has taken care of all of the little things, including the amazing lighting(not too dim, not too bright), and acoustic panels that keep the noise way down. The art work is fantastic. Feels like you could have been dropped right into France. Love!

We call this the "perfect restaurant" because of its consistency. You can see our ratings above, and it is the same every time. And we've been going to Babette's Cafe since it opened on Highland down the street decades ago. We’re home cooks and we unhesitatingly recommend Babette’s Café to locals and tourists. Marla knows how to cook, how to hire, how to schmooze with her guests and how to do all the other things that we have no clue about involved in running a good restaurant. One surprise, a unique blemish for this place: The slight, short, youngish woman who greeted us was, for this restaurant, unprecedentedly unpleasant, practically snarling.

I had not been to Babette's in many years since moving outside the perimeter int he 90's. I am compelled to revisit any place that has remained in business for over 20 years. I was not disappointed. The food was fabulous and the portions were a perfect size! Prices all reasonable or comparable to similar establishments. The atmosphere, lighting , etc are warm and welcoming. Our server was attentive and courteous. I would call this gourmet comfort food. Something as simple as french bread and butter was a sublime transport to any cafe in France. As the place filled up the noise level rose but thankfully not to shouting levels. I can't wait to go back!

Service was excellent; our foursome each had different meals, one from the fixed price menu. We all enjoyed our food. I had sole which may have been slightly under seasoned but was still very good. I appreciate the fact that portion size were appropriate rather than overwhelming. The wine list was reasonably priced, with, according to some at the table more knowledgable than me, a number of excellent selections.

Was really looking forward to our meal, reviews were great, everything looked great. Sadly though everything went downhill after meeting our waitress. We were sitting at a table by the kitchen and staircase, normally would be an issue, the food made it a non issue. The waitress though took all the pleasure away. I would give her name but she never introduced herself. All the food was great, but anything we asked for was met with a scowl. The only time a smile came close was when we were given the check. We had to ask for our wine well into the meal, that was an issue, also it hadn't been chilled down and would never had been ready to drink during our meal. Shame as it would have been a great meal if we had a nice waiter.

Babette's is a lovely place with reliably delicious food and wonderful service. This was our third time eating there. The spinach/mushroom crepes appetizer were excellent, and the grilled swordfish my husband got was as well. I gave 4/5 stars for two reasons: the mushroom soup we had as a appetizer was fine, but not great, and our server was not having a good day. She was fine, but crabby; she made me want to cheer her up. But it's such a cozy place the rest of the ambience made up for it.

Was here with my new GF (I'm mid-60s) on October 17, 2014 to celebrate her b'day, just the two of us. Love the atmosphere, service was okay, but I had snuck in a b'day cake and somehow the waitress didn't get tipped off, brought us a dessert menu -- so I had to spoil the surprise for my GF and go tell the waitress about the cake lying back in the kitchen. Food was good, but frankly, not worth the price paid . . . and I'm soon giving up on higher-priced restaurants in part due to this visit. It was my "tipping point." I am SO SO SO tired of paying eight or nine dollars for the least expensive glass of wine on the menu; at Babette's our glasses were barely half full. My scallops on risotto were warm, not hot. Overall food amount = bit skimpy
