Babette's CafeExcellent dinner again atExcellent dinner again at Babettes! We will keep coming back!!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMRomantic AmbianceThe service and the food was great! Nice and quaint, great for couples.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA lovely birthday brunchOur selections from the various menu options were attractive and flavorful. My quiche was both rich but light, with small pieces of lean bacon and the very mildest flavor of onion, served with a few perfectly crisp leaves of romaine in a light dressing. Two in our party shared the generous desert of creme brulet while I chose the small date "cookies" - two small crescent tarts filled with a heavenly recipe of dates and nuts. We remained at the table chatting a few minutes after finishing our meals without interruption. We will definitely be back for more from this little treasure of a restaurant!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMA standard for fine dining. We have been going to Babbettes for over eighteen years. We have gone for a quiet dinner for two, with other couples, with parties of ten, and once for a party of twenty, and always have been well cared for. Not only have they never disappointed, they are consistently outstanding. Their best entree is most often not even on the menu: the seasonal vegetable plate. It is also remarkable that when Marla is on extended vacation, the operation of the restaurant remains perfect. They could only improve if they relocated closer to my home.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways GreatBabette's has always been a consistently great dining experience. High quality ingredients and creative combinations.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBest dinner in townWe love going to dinner at Babette's . We always have the best service . Most of the wait staff has been there for awhile. For me this shows me the owner is good to them.
I love that they chance up the menu every Seasons.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA rare combination of perfectA rare combination of perfect service (quiet, attentive, informed) and wonderful food. Dining at Babette's feels like a trip to a little gem of a restaurant, hidden in the French countryside. I hesitate revealing how nice Babette's is because it's the opposite of trendy, overcrowded, loud. If you decide to dine at Babette's, respect how special this place is.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful surprise! Food andWonderful surprise! Food and service were beyond expectations. We will definitely return. Halibut in season now and it is not to miss.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is always good. TheThe food is always good. The menu changes but always in keeping with the philosophy of the restaurant.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe drive 90 mins rd-tripWe drive 1-1/2 hrs. round-trip to eat at Babette's Cafe. I think that says it all! Food is always delicious, chef-prepared. Service is impeccable. Ambiance is fun, very French. We always enjoy the food, service and ambiance. One of our most favorite restaurants.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways enjoy Babette'sGreat atmosphere and wonderful food. My theatre dines at Babette's regularly after performances at Horizon, and always enjoys it. The bread is addictive, the wine list is very good, and I have never been disappointed with the food.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst brunch with babyHave been to Babette's for lunch many times. First visit with our new baby. Early brunch to coincide with his feeding schedule, so not super busy. Great food & attentive service as always.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary DinnerWe had a marvelous experience at Babette's Cafe for our anniversary dinner. The staff was friendly and attentive without being obnoxious. The food was delicious, prepared very well, really tasty, and with the right portion sizes. I had a Filet Mignon that was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. The mashed potatoes were great and I wanted to take an order of the spicy onion rings to go. My wife had the Veal Picatta which looked and tasted wonderful. To top everything off, the valet parking attendant noticed we were leaving and brought my car out before I provided him with our ticket. I would definitely recommend Babette's Cafe for a excellent meal for a special occasion, even if the special occasion is Thursday.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAfter Work Quiet Bar StopI love to sneek away to this neighborhood gem right after work. Quiet laid back atmosphere. The wine list is good, affordable prices and my favorite appetizer of mussels in a stawberry creme sauce is delicious. Unsual but delicious. Mussels and a glass Pinot Grigio, call it a rap.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful serviceBabettes's is always the same, i.e., wonderful. Robin is an especially good waiter, and I always ask for him. If you like to try different places, Babette's offers a $21 prix fixe menu that's completely satisfying. I had Beef Bourgoinone, my fiancé* had paella. Robin's service never disappoints; he listens for special requests, he's good at picking out suitable wines, and he's always prompt, even when his station is full. He will NEVER hover or rush his patrons. Unfortunately, same can't be said for ALL the waitstaff.
* I gave her her engagement ring here over dinner!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe brunch was excellent. The brunch was excellent. I have eaten dinner here many times and loved it, but this was my first brunch experience -- I was not disappointed. Don't miss out on this gem!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMIn Town Character - Great FoodBabette's is one of Atlanta's best kept secrets. In a city of franchised food establishments, the short drive to the Inman Park / Virginia Highlands area is worth the time. From the outstanding staff, the dedication of the owner, to the food that is nothing short of fantastic, all at a very reasonable price point. This is 4 star cafe dining.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways A Treat!Babette's is always wonderful! The food is delicious. There are numerous tables inside but it still feels small and intimate. It's one of my favorite places in Atlanta!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful! This was my 2nd time dining at Babette's and it was great. Food and service were excellent. Only down fall was my husband's chair was right next to a floor vent and he had cold air blowing on him the entire meal.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, not disappointed!A quick last minute decision to go there or a planned celebration (as was our recent visit) we are never disappointed with our experience.
We have so many favorites we eat there...lamb, mussels, duck (when it's on the menu), soups, pasta selection and brunch, oh the brunch!
Try the deck if you can!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe halibut is delicious,The halibut is delicious, we will keep coming back.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat service and foodeverything was excellent, our waitress, our food and the atmosphere. Our favorite place.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb, High Marks OnMajor HolidaysA test of a great restaurant is how well it does on major holidays. We have been to Babette's for several Mothers Day Brunches and the staff and kitchen handle it incredibly well with every dish terrific. We always enjoy our meals there and walk away saying "we need to come here more often". Cheers to Babette's5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderfulWent for Mother's Day brunch. Sat outside on their lovely balcony. Great ambience and service. Food was fantastic. Finally, a real French omelet!! And the brunch punch mimosas were delicious. Can't wait to go back for dinner.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNight out without kidsWe went to Babette's for a night out without he kids. The food was excellent and the service was very good. The atmosphere in the restaurant was good but loud and certainly not a quiet romantic place.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful, as alwaysMy wife and I found Babette's years ago, and always come back when we are in town. Get a reservation, as it fills up. They provide a wondeful country french menu with a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Plan on eating and talking for a while. The service can be as fast as you want, but you want to take it slow.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBabette's remains one of ourBabette's remains one of our favorite escapes. The location is perfect, near Virginia Highlands and little five points, it's a great way to start the evening or just be the evening. We were seated on the porch for the first time and the ambiance was lovely. It rained a little which in the end, added to the romance. Servers were attentive, yet not overly present. As always the ravioli was excellent. We had Alaskan Halibut in a white sauce ... all I can say is YUM! Wine selection is good - you'll find what you want. If you are not a drinker and still like to live on the edge, I suggest one of the decadent desserts - we had the strawberry, rhubarb cobbler with vanilla bean ice cream and a cappuccino.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBabette's - Gem of Atlanta!Babette's is always a delightful experience! Food and presentation are consistently delicious and delectable! Free parking, great service, wonderful menu choices that change with the season -- Why go anywhere else?!!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal @ Babette's, gluten freeBabette's is superb for great food in a quiet environment. Perfect for us as one in our party is gluten free. They do an excellent job with gluten free and regular food ,too. The restaurant really gets the whole gluten free concept! One in our party (not g.f.) had the paella and really loved it! Service was excellent! They even have Lillett and offer a gluten free vodka.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe bestBabette's is by far one of the best restaurants in Atlanta. The food is exquisite and the service has never disappointed. You can count on this restaurant every time.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful eveningOn a rainy Sunday evening, there is no where else to be but Babette's! We had a cozy table last night with exceptional service from Robin, great cocktail recommendation & outstanding meals. The corn & crab chowder is back, and we are so glad! We were looking for a special place to celebrate with our daughters and we found it! What an enjoyable evening!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite RestaurantAs always, Babette's does not disappoint. It was pouring down rain the night we ate there and as luck would have it, we sat on the back porch. The sound of the rain and the view of the old trees made it memorable. The food never disappoints! Our server was attentive without hovering. This restaurant is a sentimental favorite introduced to me by a friend who is now deceased so my friends and I try to eat there several times a year and toast Ken.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved Babette's Cafe!First time diners & celebrating our wedding anniversary. We pulled up in pouring rain and the valet helped us make it through the door fast and dry. We were greeted and lead to our table straight away. The staff had placed a pretty glass container full of Rose petals (ok, they were fake but still a great touch which made our dinner even more enjoyable). Our server, Christina (?), was excellent. She helped us with decisions regarding drinks and dinner and her suggestions were perfect. From start to finish, we enjoyed every bite. After dinner, we walked out to take a look at their outdoor balcony where several people were seated having dinner. It looked awesome. Thanks to all at Babette's for a wonderful evening. We'll return soon!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMbetter than everWe went to Babette's after a hiatus of several years--mostly to avoid being in a rut. Our expectations were modest, but they were very much exceeded by the tasteful interior, skillful and personable service, and excellent food. We especially liked the 2-course fixed price menu, which I think is available T-Fr. Reasonably priced, decent choices, and no need to get a gooey dessert unless one wants one for a fair price.
We'll be back soon.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMIn n OutFriendly and welcoming, quickly seated. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal was just as quick, each course arrived in rapid-fire succession - from drink to dessert in just over 45 minutes. Also noticed that we were not presented with the specials, others were. Party of 10 was seated next to us garnered a large share of our waiter's focus. The meal itself was quite good: grilled shrimp and tabbouleh appetizer was a fresh note, salads were just meh; the dressings bland. Mains were the stars - short rib and beef tenderloin. We sat inside. The room is open and moderate in size, with warm ochre walls and a homey ambiance. Tables are nicely spaced. Recommend and would return, just ask them to slow the pace a bit.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful as always!I've eaten at Babette's often, never a disappointing experience (at least if you don't get the wrong watron.) Our waiter, Robin, was absolutely first-class, giving wine samples, offering to take our picture, not intruding into personal conversation, etc. Marla herself has never failed to appear at some point in the evening to welcome us. Don't expect large, American size portions. Quiet, lovely ambiance, suitable for either 1st. dates or engagements.
Go Tuesday - Friday and order off the $21 prix fixe menu! We had trout and lamb stew, beet salads, dessert, 2 glasses of wine, including tip we still got out way under $100.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our best dinners everWe had our anniversary dinner at Babettes where we had eaten once before and liked. This particular outing was absolutely outstanding, one of our best times eating out in Atlanta ever... and we eat out a lot.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely eveningOur first visit to Babette's Cafe was for a special occasion and it was a great pick. We had lovely service, great care for our old bottle of wine with a crumbly cork, a delicious meal, and, although the room was almost full, we could hear each other talk! We will return.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellentFood and wine were excellent , only the service was a bit slow but we were a big party. Recommended.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great dining experienceAnother great dining experience at Babette'sI missed the tart - i hope it comes back to the dessert menu soon4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely the best Shrimp & GritsAbsolutely the best Shrimp & Grits in town. Also, don't skip the pastries - delicious scones and muffins!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMI Miss the Moules MarinièresThis was the 3rd or 4th time my husband & I have eaten at Babette's over the years, & it's always been a very good experience. As always, the French bread was excellent - best I have had outside of France! We had the steamed mussels w/ strawberries & serrano peppers, the goat cheese & spinach agnolotti, a salad & the Colorado lamb loin chops. The mussels were good, but the sauce was not great; I miss the "old" mussels marinieres - THOSE were was divine. My agnolotti was SO delicious I almost licked the plate. The lamb chops were thick & perfectly cooked (there are 2 chops); however the shoestring potatoes that came with the lamb were thin, deep fried, crispy potato sticks (not our favorites). An appetizer + main makes a BIG dinner.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMUndoubtedly a Neighborhood GemBabette's is just a very good restaurant. Nothing flashy, just simple, neat surroundings paired with very good food and service. Portion sizes are reasonable, and presentations are pleasing without being "over the top." I started with a cup of the celeriac soup and my wife had the salad with beets, feta and oranges -- a seemingly strange combination which, however, my wife said worked very well. We both had the Chicken Breast Provencale which was nicely seasoned with herbs and garlic (which surprisingly, to me anyway, tasted more like rosemary than garlic). Couple the very good food and service with prompt valet parking and you have an extremely pleasant dining experience.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe celebrated the birthdaysWe celebrated the birthdays of our daughter and grandaughter at Babette's, and, as usual, everything was perfect. The food is always perfectly prepared, and the service was attentive and expert without being overwhelming. Good advice on the wine with my entre' and wonderful desserts. We can't get our children or grandchildren to try out any new place we suggest!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMNothing is better than a eveningNothing is better than a evening at Babette's . This is my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. This service is always amazing. The food is the best in Atlanta. No matter if we go for Brunch or Dimner it's the best. I had Scallops with grainy mustard sauce. They were so good I wanted to go back the next night to get them again. We also had their Mint chocolate chip ice cream. I love that it is home made. You can taste the real mint not just a Artificial flavoring that has been added.
Thank you Babbett's for always making the night special.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThis my first visit to Babette'sThis my first visit to Babette's and will definitely return and recommend to others. I went with my sister to celebrate her new job. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. The menu is not huge but there is something to suit every taste. I especially liked the Pris Fixe? menu available Mon- Thurs. a great value! The quality of the food was outstanding and I really enjoyed that Marla stopped by the table several times. Can't wait to visit again!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMElegant and deliciousConsistently exquisite dining in a simple, elegant, unpretentious setting. Impeccable service. One of my favorites in all of Atlanta.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently excellentMy wife and I dine frequently at Babette's. On this particular visit we selected the pork tenderloin with mushrooms special as our entree. It was unlike any pork tenderloin either of us have had, and far superior. We have no idea what Marla Adams did to make this dish so exceptional, but would love to see it added to the regular menu.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food, service and ambianceThe food, service and ambiance are consistently excellent!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
