A word from Babette's Cafe
Dining at Babette’s Café is like stepping into Chef/Owner Marla Adams’ home. She is equally as known for the incredibly creative Rustic European cuisine that she creates, as she is for her welcoming personality.
For twenty-one, Babette’s Café has offered the flavor of a restaurant that is tucked into the French countryside. The dining room offers a relaxed setting and the outdoor patio, which overlooks the serene setting of Freedom Park, makes diners forget that they are just minutes away from downtown Atlanta.
Dishes such as Chef Adams’ Steamed Mussels with Strawberries and Serrano Peppers, Artichoke and Olive Ravioli in a White Wine Butter Sauce and Beef Tenderloin drizzled with Gorgonzola Sauce have kept locals and tourists alike flocking to this culinary haven.
Brunch is served on Sundays from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm and offers the "lightest Pancakes with Blueberry Compote", the "richest Shrimp and Grits" and the most "luscious Croque Madame", in town.

Diner Reviews
  • "Fantastic French cuisine topped with five star service. Our server Lisa G has waited on us twice now and the experience she provided reflects the the pride Babette's employees put into making this dining experience one of a kind. This place is well worth the dollar, as I recommend Babette's to all of my family and friends for their future dinner excursions. As my fiance and I have collectively traveled to Paris three times, along with Nice and Monaco, I encourage you to try this authentic French flavor domestically located in our warm city of Atlanta. For first timers, try the lamb chop or veal, and leave room for desert! Their creme brulee is exquisite. Note: plan on making a reservation."

  • "It must be true that you must suffer to obtain good results. The food here was divine however one must suffer to obtain it. While having a reservation and empty tables in the restaurant, we were required to wait uncomfortably in the anteroom until the other 2 people in our party arrived. Additionally, when going to seating, I requested not to be seated next to the door and away from the cold. The hostess stated that other tables were reserved? although no one was seated at the table next to us until 30 minutes after we were seated and upon questioning the other hostess, no tables were reserved. Due to lack of professionalism, we will not return although the food is wonderful. Kat1"

  • "As I told Marla Adams, chef-owner, when I die, my heaven would be to have dinner every night at Babette's Cafe and have the lovely service and their wonderful food. When we go there I want to pick up my plate and lick it clean!"

  • "My wife and I gravitate to comfortable places for Friday dinner. Our favorite, and most frequent, is Babette's. Marla and staff do a consistently good job. On our most recent visit, the veal meatloaf was flavorful and moist; the swordfish was cooked just right. We also love the bar here. Campari orange (for her) and Campari soda (for him) seem the drinks that go perfectly with the atmosphere of the restaurant. The service is always great here. Since the staff changes so infrequently we have come to know several of the servers; they are all professionals; they know just how much attention to pay to you. Marla has had Babette's for over twenty years I believe. It has earned its place in the Atlanta dining community as a classic place. "

  • "Food portion is small but overall great dining experience and beautiful restaurant!!!"

  • "This is such a special restaurant. The food is wonderful, everything we had was delicious. The wine by the glass list is small but pairs so well with the food. The service is excellent, attentive yet unobtrusive, and the ambiance is really lovely. Try to get an outdoor seat if the weather is nice. On top of all of this, the price point is so reasonable for such a great experience."

  • "Babette's Cafe is a great dining experience starting with valet parking, a friendly greeting, a varied menu, well-prepared food and terrific service. The experience ends with a "thanks for coming". We'll be back."

  • "When choosing a place to celebrate, we always choose Babette's. The fish dishes always superb - that's really the second reason we choose Babette's."

  • "We want before going to The Fox and it was perfect. Their prix fixe menu is a great choice, service was spot-on, and we'd come back against for sure."

  • "We love this restaurant. We have been many times and each time is different and wonderful. From the attitude of the staff, to the special seasonal dishes, it is always a wonderful experience."

  • "We took dear friends from NYC to Babette's Saturday night, confident that they would enjoy both the food and the setting. We were right, of course. Although they have their pick of some of the world's finest restaurants, our friends made it clear that Babette's made the grade. My only criticism is that the waitress failed to take our wine order in a timely fashion."

  • "We always feel like we are dining at our favorite Parisian Bistro!"

  • "This was great experience. Exceptional food and service. Babette's lists itself as French but Continental would be more accurate. Each course was delicious and beautifully presented. Next time we may just order all the appetizers because they were excellent and, like every dish, very nicely priced. Each entree had excellent sides and the wine list was brief but good. (Corkage is only $15.) This is high-end restaurant without high-end prices."

  • "The evening could not have been better. The halibut was prepared to perfection, with the sauce itself worthy of separate praise. Our pinot gris wine was perfect and just the right temperature. The service was very personable. Great evening."

  • "Walking into Babette's transports you away from the fast pace of Atlanta and into a cozy relaxed dining room. It truly does feel like you're eating at the chef's home. The wild mushroom and chestnut soup was divine and make sure to save room for the doberge cake or chocolate bread pudding. The quality alone makes me want to return but the prices ensure we'll be back."

  • "The food never disappoints, especially the Halibut and Lemon Mustard Sauce. It's the best in town! I could lick the platter clean!"

  • "Food was memorable...plump oysters lightly fried and dressed with vinaigrette and delectable mussels set the tone. Our entrees included the best clams and linguine topped with toasted breadcrumbs that I've had and hubby enjoyed moist flaky and tasty halibut and we finished up with a yummy creme brule. Service was efficient and attentive. Can't wait to return."

  • "I find Babette's (this is the third time I have been there, though the first time I made the reservation) consistent; this is important to me in that I know I will not be disappointed. My only criticism is that one has to order a meal to test a dish out; even a taste is impossible for some entrees, and I wish that were not the case. But the food has been very good and the service, which is very important to me, has been excellent. I would come again and I would recommend it. Also,I cannot eat milk (cheese is the real issue) with meat, and I am wondering the degree to which that constrains me at Babette's. Any suggestions as to how I might handle that?"

  • "Having dined there many times, somehow five years had passed between the last visit and this one. It is still a great dining experience. We had the lamb stew and the Alaskan Halibutt - both excellent !"

  • "The best food and wine in the neighborhood served by a very good waiter - Robin - I believe. Loved the feeling of the café. Reminded me of places I had eaten in Europe. I have taken a group there before and the food remains consistently good, atmosphere pleasant. All in all, a very pleasant experience."

  • "Our evening began with a delicious glass of wine at the bar and soon were escorted to our table. As always we were impressed with the excellent appearance of the restaurant and the prompt and friendly service. The food was fresh and delicious as ever. We're never disappointed and love to entertain out of town guests at Babette's; a real neighborhood gem."

  • "I love this place, I am never disappointed. This past visit we dined on braised short ribs and lobster ravioli. Both were excellent. The meal was bookended by an amazing mushroom soup and a towering slice of doberge cake. Great service and a pleasant vibe. Looking forward to my next visit!"

  • "We chose to dine at Babette's based on its already gleaming reviews on OpenTable, and were in no way disappointed. From our first course of escargots with puff pastry and red wine reduction onward, the food was exceptional. You can tell there is a great deal of "love" going into each dish they make. The portions were sized right for the price (albeit the restaurant itself felt a bit casual in comparison to the prices). Everything we ended up choosing was divine- wild mushroom soup, lamp chops, and filet mignon. We were somewhat disappointed when we were notified the kitchen had run out of horseradish mash though. The meal was made extra special by the attentive service of Noelie. She provided some of the best service we've ever had!"

  • "We have eaten at this restaurant at least 50 times over the last 20 years and have never been disappointed in the quality of the food and service. The food quality was as uusual Saturday night but the server was awful. She mixed up drink orders and food orders and disappeared for long periods. She was young and obviously inexperienced and spoke as though she was at a Waffle House and not a fine restaurant. We will go back because we know that this had to be an abberation. Marla continues to maintain a great place to have dinner."

  • "I've had it before, but the Filet Mignon was a very nice piece of meat and cooked perfectly with gorgonzola sauce over top. It's served with horseradish mashed potatoes (didn't notice the horseradish), vegetables and topped with onion rings. I recommend this dish! My husband had the lamb pie, which he thought was good once he added salt. The last time we were at Babettes, he had to add a bunch of salt to his pork cassoulet. We wonder if some of the dishes seem to lack salt due to the mature crowd that Babettes caters to. The service was fairly good, but our server was unusually quiet. The ambiance is warm and comfortable. Overall it was a very nice meal."

  • "We are always delighted with our experience at Nanette's. We bought friends for their first visit to Nanette's. They enjoyed their food, the ambiance, meeting Marla and the entire evening. We gladly drive from Roswell about once a month because the evening is just so good"

  • "As a 1st timer of Babette's Cafe, I must say that it was a memorable experience. The ambiance was extremely welcoming as if you'd been invited into a neighbor's home for dinner. The service was great and our server was happy to make emphatic recommendation on some of his favorite dishes and wine pairings. The wine list was diverse and reasonably priced then the food was worth the wait! We ordered the scallops dish and the lamb chops which were both respectfully delic! To round out our evening we finished our dinner experience with a chocolate bread pudding w/ banana ice cream which was nothing short of amazing! My palate thanks you! If you don't know Babette's you should get to know this place!"
