Ba Restaurant takes a fresh look at Cal-French cuisine. Chef James Graham selects seasonal local ingredients to craft his daily menu with French inspired flavors and rustic techniques. Seasonal favorites include Chicken Croquettes, and Duck Confit.

The artist curated modern eclectic interior is perfect for casual weeknight dinners, special occasions, and late night snacks. It's also a favorite neighborhood spot for weekend brunch.

The winelist changes often and features unique French wines, and Ba Restaurant offers a great selection of local micro brews.

Join us for Brunch Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and weekday lunch Tuesday through Friday 11:00a.m. - 2:00p.m.

  • "Although the menu is short, everything is presented and prepared very thoughtfully. That includes the wines. We had a green salad, which was fresh and very green, but on the bland side with barely any dressing, if any. The variety of greens made it interesting, though. However, the asparagus spinach soup was full of flavor and spicy if you don't mind heavily peppered soup. The beef bourguingnon fell apart with the fork, and didn't disappoint our taste buds either. Same with the butternut squash souffle. Service is attentive and friendly, but not overly done. The design of the room is clever and artful with the appropriate lighting level - a feeling of warm French modern. I hate to let on about this place because it's a little gem."

  • "This was my second visit to BA - this time for brunch, the first time for lunch during a quiet weekday. Service pleasant, not attentive. Food took forever - finally told a large party's order was put in before ours (really? 5 minutes later food arrived piping hot (at 1:50pm after a 1pm seating) - seemed our order was not even put in. A few items not available from the menu including their specialty Mushroom Brulee (which I had during my first visit and it is delish)....small glasses of champagne overpriced in my opinion at $9 each (a bottle is $36 - which we should have done not thinking we would want a second glass). There are more choices out there now in Highland Park. Next time, I'll try another."

  • "I would've given it 5 stars if all the dishes where all equally good. The filet was perfect, the mushroom brûlée was amazing, but they fell flat on the chicken. Chicken is always hard so I can't fault them too much, but it was too dry. And the winter salad was a bit boring. Outside of that the service was genuinely friendly, not fake/forced and i Always appreciate that. The good dishes were very very good, for sure worth going back many times."

  • "My vet is in Highland Park so I end up spending a lot of time there and I have to say, I love it. This is our second time to Ba. It's small, very nice inside, great, kind of a little off beat vibe but in a good way. I love the food. My dad was a chef and a foodie before there were foodies. The chef's style is very similar to my dad's. Fresh food, organic and locally sourced. Sauces and seasonings complent the food, so you taste the amazing piece of meat or fish. We like this as kind of a special occasion place but I could eat here a few times a week. We are not drinkers so I can't comment on the wine list. Save room for dessert. The cream puff they served on V Day was to die for. An elevated version but still simple."

  • "We were staying in Highland Park so thought we would give it try. Very nice food. friendly staff. Wine list is short so check for the corkage fee and bring something you want to drink. I had the duck terrine. a local salad and a very good sea bass dish. French in style cooking enhanced by locally sourced food. Only open about 18 months, the work is starting to leak out about this sport. The table next to us was some film industry types from the west side who were congratulating themselves for coming into the 'hipster' neighborhood. We'll definitely return to sample this chef again!"

  • "What a lovely way to start a weekend - Brunch at Ba Restaurant. Now in its second year, Ba has been shinning up York Blvd. in Highland Park with its interesting menu and bright, lively service. My first adventure to Ba, more than a year and a half ago, was a bumpy affair as the newly opened venue struggled to find its culinary footing, but now (I'm thrilled to say!) Ba has found its food voice! My vegetarian quiche with a mesclun salad was both delicious and beautifully prepared. All of the plates at our table of friends were spotless at the meal's end - always a great sign."

My husband sat with his empty beer glass for the entire evenign and was never asked if he wanted another. We have been to Ba many times, usually the chef is engaging the waiter is too and you feel like you are part of something special. Not this night. Too bad"

  • "My friend had told me about this restaurant over a year ago and it took me a long time to finally get there. Now that I have had dinner there I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK! I went there to celebrate a birthday with girlfriends and it turned out to be a great evening. The atmosphere is quiet and there is a cool intelligent vibe going on around you exemplified in the restaurant design, the staff and the people dining. The food was delicious and I was thrilled to see ample servings. Two of us ordered the mussels which were divine, but be ready for a large bed of french fries enveloping the mussels. We also ordered a chocolate cake slice for dessert and it was out of this world delicious and moist."

  • "Ba is just adorable - I love what they've done with the space. Overall, it's really just a kitchen and the dining area, and they really make the best of it. Good/comfortable seating and beautifully decorated. The wine list is comprehensive and the menu, though short, has something for everyone. The food was well-executed and was presented beautifully (we eat with our eyes first!). I think the lack of a bar scene is a plus in a little place like this - I would definitely return for a nice dinner or to try their brunch."

  • "We've been to Ba at least eight times how, and every meal has been great. We go there to meet one couple or another, and it makes for easy talking. I recommend the fruit-and-cheese plate not listed on the menu for appetizers. If you can't choose among the half dozen entrees (which changes nightly), steak frites is usually on there, which is always good. It's a 6 oz. sirloin with shoe-string french fries. There are always fish and vegetarian meals, too. York Blvd. is becoming a "in" street in Los Angeles, and Ba is a gem."

  • "interior is quite nice and makes great use of the space, the efforts at noise reduction are excellent. The service was perfunctory. The waiters stood gabbing with the hostess at the door leaving patrons to fend for themselves. Menu was nicely done. Grungy jeans, if you are going to do high end then dress it. The scallop appetizer was good. Scallops perfect and the duck fat and bacon were tasty. However, the deep fried brussel sprout accompaniment was too much oily. The dish would have benefited from some sharp contrasts of lemon or vinegar. Beef Wellington, chicken livers were over the top. The Bouillabaisse was too mush anise-w fennel and star anise. Seafood here overcooked. Creme brulee was great. Not bad but could be better."

  • "My fiancé and I moved to the area recently and stumbled upon Ba while taking a stroll on York. It's a small, intimate setting but the food really is so great and fresh! We ordered the charcuterie plate to start and it was beautiful. More food than you'd expect from other spots.. Perfect portions. The mussels were also delicious. We wanted to order the mushroom soufflé but it was just too much food and we didn't want to skip on dessert. Bottles of wine are reasonably priced so definitely worth it to get a bottle. The server was very nice and knew a lot about the food. Overall we were really glad that we don't need to drive to downtown for great atmosphere and food! We are definitely coming back whether it's a special occasion or not."

  • "I heard good things about this spot and was excited to have a great restaurant in Highland Park but the food was uninspired, not exciting and not worth the expense. It wasn't as if the level of difficulty was so great either- mussels, seared ahi, steak frites...nothing crazy. The mussles had little garlic, overwhelming flavor was tarragon, and just not very flavorful...unexciting. The "seared ahi" was cooked through and tough, and the steak frites was just fine. The best thing about the meal was the wine and the wedding cake. Sadly, won't be back."

The food was excellent (salad was simple but fresh and good; potato croquettes were rich, tasty, not greasy, excellent; mushroom souffle was wonderful; mussels...over french fries...sounded weird but was delicious. Service could not have been better; decor is clean and contemporary but with a French influence--we found it very inviting. Everything about the restaurant indicated the owners have given a lot of thought to it--the design, the food, the service. it all seemed very genuine. We tried two wines (our server offered tastes). The first was an inexpensive French Pinot that we didn't find to our liking, the second was fine."

  • "Brunch here was just what we were looking for when we took our son off of the Occidental College campus for a meal. The gravlax benedict was perfect with a creamy benedict sauce obviously made from scratch. The other dishes were just as good. The potato side dish was a tiny bit undercooked (hard to poke a fork into) but flavored well. We will be back."
