B. Smith's Restaurant RowHard wafflesI took my mother for Mother's Day brunch and I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was excellent, but the waffles were hard and very difficult to cut up. I want able to eat the entire waffle portion because it was so hard around the edges.

Smith's is open quite late. It's a lovely, comfortable spot with an efficient and gracious staff. I've been meaning to go for years. Unfortunately, considering the price, the food just wasn't good enough. My salad starter was excellent, but the main course -- short ribs -- was badly sauced (very heavy and clumpy), and the ribs were too fatty. The food was amazing, and as an exttra added attraction, we met B. Smith and her husband!!! They even bought our after dinner coffee.....They were very warm and friendly, not to mention, a beautiful couple!!!
We had the pre theatre specials and they did not disappoint, very good value, the chicken and salmon done to perfection!!

They have a nice variety, albeit not many items on the menu. They do, however, have some great specials to add to the short list. The food was tasty, with generous, yet not overwhelming, portions. They aren't shy with pricing...most entrees in the $30 plus range...which for chicken, fish and chips, etc. seemed a bit high.
The staff was friendly and efficient.

A broader selection of veggie dishes would be great, but she was happy with the fried green tomatoes and the hummus plate. The Mac and cheese got high praise, and my salmon was perfect, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Great greens. Also, I thought the theatre was at 8, and when I realized it was 7, our waitress moved things along quickly so that we were out in ample time. Our server was excellent. Food was served quickly and was piping hot. Can't go wrong with the staples of comfort food --- the Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer and Macaroni & Cheese entree.
