  • "We sat outside in their covered dining area, and it was perfect. The ambiance was superb. I had a bloody mary and an omelette, while my date had beglian waffles. YUM. Definitely going back to try to the pancakes."

  • "The breakfast sandwich here is amazing! I've been multiple times for brunch and it never fails me. The service was a little slow, but it was worth the wait for perfectly cooked eggs at a pretty good price."

  • "Very loud, even when 1/2 full. Must yell to hear table guests. Waiters rush you a bit and clear plates even though others are still eating. However, the food is very good. We will return."

  • "In my opinion everything is a little overpriced for what you get. The food portions are not that big, and even if the beers are imported, the standard beers are to expensive. I find it hard to deal with that a belgian bar charges more for belgian beers than the pub around the corner charges for belgian beers. I also feel the dining experience was rushed a little. There was hardly no time between our main course and when we received the dessert card. Waiters came by three or four times even when it was clear we preferred a break between the two courses. After dessert, the bill was rushed in and we felt we were obliged to leave directly afterwards. Overall the staff was very friendly though."

  • "Great spot on the UES to grab a delicious Beer and a bite to eat. Burger, Tuna Tartare and Mussels are my favorite and DON't forget to get the waffle for dessert."

  • "We were right by the door to the bathroom. I guess we were considered second class citizens because we were first timers and had booked through Open Table. Even though the food was very good and our waitress was lovely, I would not go back."

  • "My husband and I live nearby, but had never been to B. Cafe until we had house guests who love Belgian beer. So, we gave it a try. It was fantastic. We all loved the beers and the mussels were the freshest and plumpest we've ever had. Our server, Jennifer, was terrific and very helpful in suggesting beers we might like. We will return often!"

  • "We love this place,,local and yummy and authentic,,been coming for years..unfortunately on this occasion the small dining room was way too noisy once a very large group occupied 90% of the seats and tables??usually this place has twos and fours in quiet and lively conversation!!but 3/4 thru our dinner,,this large and boisterous group made noise levels unbearable to the point that we wanted to leave immediately,,we could not hold a conversation..We feel the owner should have warned us that they were having a very large party in a very small space and we would have selected another night."

  • "Warm welcome; engaging and efficient service; lively but not wild crowd; good food and wine although wine a bit pricey. Bartender has been there for years - serious, professional and attentive."

  • "While food was very good, the service was lacking. The waitresses were hard to find and the servers kept bumping into my chair to get to another table, which was very annoying."

  • "Nice and cozy place with great food. It's a bit tight in there but that's part of the charm."

  • "Only downside is that tables are on top of each other...so will try to go earlier or later in evening next time...but still enjoyable."

  • "Moule Frits and Beer are wonderful choices. Mussels served in five different preparations ranging from traditional to Malay. Main room is lovely with a small courtyard room (enclosed for the bitter winter). Must negotiate a six foot staircase at the front entrance."

  • "This place is much like great French brasserie, but with many really interesting beers available and a terrific Carbonade."

  • "I have been to B. Cafe multiple times and the food and service are consistently good. The menu has not varied much in the times that I have been there but everything always tastes good. The servers check in enough but not too much and food and service is quick. They had a good wine and great beer list especially if you like Belgian beers. Overall, it is a great place to visit for dinner on the upper east side."

  • "We discovered this place several years ago on UES..and while they have another location on us..this one is best..cozy. Warm. Friendly service..fantastic food and amazing array of beer..mussels,,frites. Steak. Pasta. • "Have been to B Cafe several times and the food doesn't disappoint. The service could be better. We were 3/4 through our meal, chatting and just taking a quick breather before we could finish what was left of our meals on our dishes, the wait staff came and took away our plates. They did it so quickly that we didn't have a chance to say we weren't finished. Other times we've been there, service was great. Food is good, services is touch and go but we'd still go back."

  • "Over priced.... Mussels were ok but vegetwbles with them had no taste. The special dessert , chocolate eclair, was dry and tasteless. Staff were very pushy, trying to take away glasses and dishes before we were done"

  • "Dependable, especially for the mussels and beef stew. Great beer list and friendly service. We were a party of 9 and they did a great job of staying on top of the different orders in a cramped space. Had a great time, other than an obnoxious couple who seemed to resent that we were having an enjoyable time."

  • "B Café is my favorite neighborhood drop-in spot for a cocktail or Belgian beer. I was delighted to hear they were open on Christmas Day, so I had a chance to share this special place with all my special people. We had a wonderful meal. Everyone's food and drinks were superb and as always, the service was great. I really love this place. They always exceed expectations."

  • "I found it very good for a holiday brunch. The food was very good as was the service. We sat in the enclosed and heated garden area on Christmas Day and we were very comfortable."

  • "You will feel like you have been transplanted to Belgium when you dine at this very authentic and delicious Belgium restaurant. The Pomme Frites rival those in Belgium, and the mussels melt in your mouth. The ambience only adds to this very enjoyable dining experience. Great for special occasions, or just a nice night out when you feel like indulging a bit. The dessert menu had my mouth watering, but the portions for the main course are so generous that I could not eat another bite. This restaurant is quite a neighborhood find for both the upper east and west side of Manhattan."

  • "The food is just wonderful. I have been there three times and had an overall great experience every time. The place is cozy and the ambiance quite nice."

  • "The East Side location of this Belgian restaurant is a nice addition to the neighborhood, but only the service and certain menu items lived up to the expectations. The crab cake appetizer was very bready and non-descript. The delicious tuna tartar appetizer was very fresh and sat on top of avocado puree and a light soy sauce. The durade entree was cooked perfectly. While it is known for its mussels, they were only so-so. The Madrid style was listed as including saffron, but only the white wine and fennel were noticiable. The mussels were on the small side. The staff was nice, helpful, and attentive, although a bit too eager to remove plates. The food and other menu options will encourage me to go back, but it won't be for the moules frites."

  • "Several styles of Moules Frite (try the red curry sauce for a delicious variation) and hundreds of beer choices make this fun and interesting dining with a difference. We go there when we want a quite neighborhood place for a good meal."

  • "What a gem this little hideaway is! It is known for it's mussels and fries. The entire menu was fantastic. In addition, they give very large portions so we all took home leftovers. This is a perfect, intimate restaurant with a diverse menu! Be sure to make a reservation."

  • "Defeaningly loud. The hanger steak was OK but the frites were not real ... the mushy center gives it away. The salad has poured dressing and was not tossed. All packed on to a plate with no room to keep food separate. Steak night in college dorm."

  • "We walked by B. Cafe East over the summer on a weekend and made a note to return. So glad we did, because it did not disappoint! The staff, in particular our waitress, were wonderful, and helped make the evening very special for my boyfriend's birthday. The food was excellent and we're looking forward to many more meals there!"

  • "Waited at the bar--very nice decor and friendly bartender. We were seated when my friend arrived and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Great specials, fabulous beer list and very nice wines. I'd go back for the pleasant and mellow atmosphere."

  • "This is our favorite place in our 'hood. Never had anything, from soup to apps to mains that wasn't really good. It is a Belgian cafe so mussels, fries, beef stew and beer are fabulous, but no matter where your appetite leads, you can't go wrong. Staff is attentive, atmosphere is warm and welcoming."

  • "what a delight and right in my neighborhood. The food was excellent and there are over 100 Belgium bottles beers to choose from. Not to mention the beer on tap. Went for brunch but am returning soon for dinner. Also a great happy hour - a lobster roll and beer or glass of wine for 15.00."
