This is a perfect neighborhood restaurant with small and large plates of delicious food. For a Thursday evening it became full by 7pm. The two of us split an order of mussels and frites, followed by a couple of small plates and a fabulous duck confit. The selection of wines by the glass is good, as are the bottled beers (no draft). Service was attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Prices are moderate and parking, surprisingly, was no problem.

Great food, friendly ambiance and service, not pretentious, not too noisy, nice varied crowd, very interesting old late-18th Century neighborhood...and they emphasize local, organic and sustainable sources, including their own farm! We were there on a Tuesday night, and found that on Tuesdays all their wines are half price. What more could we want?

Having had wonderful dinners at b, we decided to try a Sunday brunch and were not disappointed. The service was impeccable. We were quickly seated and asked if we wanted juice, coffee or another beverage. Our beverages were served quickly. The menu offered a wide variety of brunch selections. I opted for the eggs benedicts on ciabatta with serano jambon that was served with a side of potatoes. It was fabulous. The service was great and we felt comfortable enjoying our coffee and didn't feel that the waitstaff was anxious for us to leave.

The food and service here was just outstanding across the board. The one thing I would caution folks on is that the noise level in here is very high. This is not the place for a quiet romantic dinner. That aside, from a food standpoint this place is wonderful. We drove in from Pennsylvania, but we would go back again.

Yummy, yummy food. Excellent wine selection. Our reservation got us a table in the windows...great for viewing the spring blossoms, slightly uncomfortable for being placed by the front door on a wet day w/ customer traffic. Pacing of meal & attention to details well done.

First visit-We arrived to a nearly empty restaurant but were seated at a table far in the back. Why do restaurants seat those with reservations at the most undesirable tables? The dorade & rockfish entrees were both very good (dorade special the most expensive item on the menu at $29-next time I'll ask before ordering!). The braised lamb shank over white beans-a special-was served barely warm and was absolutely tasteless. Tried to add some salt (had to ask for it-no salt and pepper on the tables)-no luck. But for $25 we took it home in hope of revving it up in some leftover use. Appetizers were ok but expensive considering the portion size. Desserts-$7-were good. Dinner/tip for 3 w/ 1 $36 bottle of wine: $190.

I enjoy going to b, and the food, service, and cozy ambiance are always lovely. Neither of the appetizers my dining companion and I had hoped to try (the pumpkin and the pear with ricotta) were in stock, but the beet salad I chose instead was great. My roasted forest mushrooms with parmesan fondue were delicious, but the gnocchi served with them was a miss...much of the gnocchi melded together into a strange, gummy, paste-like substance...eek! Not very appetizing. The pot de creme was simply wonderful.

I made a reservation for 4 and even though opentable wouldn't let me change it to 5 the day of , when I called b bistro they were very accommodating. b is tucked into the Bolton Hill neighborhood but was easy to find. The vibe is very laid back, just as you would expect when you hear the word bistro. The staff is so unpretentious but attentive and knowledgeable. All of their small plates looked so amazing and none of us were especially starving so we shared 2 rounds of small plates and salads (10 total) between the 5 of us and it was plenty. I'd have to say the highlights of the night were the pumpkin small plate, the green curried mussels, and the pork belly small plate. So good my friend went back the next morning for brunch!!!

Outstanding restaurant! We will 100% go back in the future. Our meals were excellent and the staff was friendly and knew the menu very well. It is a little small and you are close to other dinners but not unlike other neighborhood places. The menu offers some different options (bone marrow, rabbit, etc) which really separate this from other places.

Our second time at b, our first time quite a few years ago I had forgotten what a great place this restaurant is! I'm not going to forget to go back soon. It was a wow. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a really good meal, which, in all candor, isn't easy to find in this town. Intimate space, attention to detail, well-cooked food. My one negative comment: the mussels were on the large side. I prefer my mussels small. They may have been a tad undercooked as many didn't come easily away from the shell. We didn't have time for dessert so i can't comment on that course. Otherwise: terrific!

The Bolton Hill Bistro does a lot with the space they have. It's just that they don't have much space. It's comfortable but not cozy. The food was good but not haute cuisine. I wasn't drinking that night but the wine list looked very good. For lunch and lite fare it's a great place and probably fun to eat outside in the summer (we were there in the spring).

The food was excellent, a good variety of choices on the menu, cheese selection was very good. The server was attentive to our needs and explained the menu and specials well. The cafe was relatively empty when we arrived and food came out quickly, by the time we were finished our meal the restaurant was full. The tables are a bit close together, but there was a good ambiance in the cafe. Prices were reasonable and serving portions were very good. Good location for dinner prior to the symphony at the Meyerhoff. Will definitely return and we would recommend to others for a nice meal.

B Bistro, in historic Bolton Hill, is a restaurant that never disappoints. Whether it is your first time or your 100th time, you will always discover something new. Jamie, the Chef, is the heart and soul of B and puts both into his cooking every night. The food is fresh, with much of it coming from the owners' local farm, and it is cooked amazingly well. You would not expect to find some of the more interesting choices--such as sweetbreads, rabbit or pork belly--in a neighborhood restaurant and these are balanced by more ordinary choices--such as the incredibly good Bistro Burger--but always with extraordinary flair and flavor. Some of my best nights in Baltimore have been spent at B--in fact most of my good nights! I simply love B.

The small plates that we ordered were very good. The menu is interesting but there was little tolerance for questions, the tone was somber and we were treated just plain badly for arriving at 4:58 for a 5:00 pm reservation...which we made so that we could then attend a film at the Charles. If the staff need to rise a half hour earlier to accommodate diners with a smile, maybe they should set the alarm accordingly. The overall experience was stiff and uncomfortable. The food was good, I would like the opportunity to order an entree, but must muster the courage to be treated badly again.

I was quite disappointed with our recent dinner. We have loved b for years; loved the food and the place. But the food was disappointing (chickpeas and rockfish?), the noise level ridiculous and the service lackluster. It was a special occasion dinner for my brother and I felt I let him down with such a dinner.

Great service, great food - the crispy pork belly with fried egg and tomatillo was sublime, the mussels - awesome, the pumpkin fantastic - considering The Helmand does pumpkin so well b-bistor's was good with similarity but a personality of its own, I liked the appetizers so much that I kept eating them for dinner so I added the forest mushrooms w/ thyme and calamari both super yummy and my date had the slow cooked rabbit leg. I have had confit of rabbit leg and this while cooked differently it was just as tender. The misses were simple: The sauce on the turnip green ravioli was so-so the bread served with the meal could have an equally alluring personality to the rest of the menu in actuality it was boring. I WILL BE BACK. Thanks!
