  • "Our first visit to Azul. Heard great things. Not disappointed. Waitress was very good. Engaging, helpful, and happy. Got distracted by a large party at the end, but her helper jumped in to finish things up. I would recommend this restaurant, but be sure to bring a full wallet."

  • "Husband and I had 10 year anniversary dinner at Azul based on a sterling recommendation from a friend. It was a terrible meal. Husband's steak overcooked and served over sloppy, soggy root vegetables (and that's IT for sides for $44) and my lobster fettuccine was so bland, I asked my husband to taste it because he likes most anything. He agreed it was incredibly bland served with three anemic cherry tomatoes ($38). Tiramisu, a signature in any italian restaurant, was soggy and had zero taste. Two tables near us received complimentary desserts for their anniversary but we didn't even get a mention. Service was okay but waitress actually asked if my tiramisu was "iffy," as if she expected it to be. Will never book here again."

  • "Marco (co-owner) and Roxanne were so incredible in making certain every detail of our special evening (Jim's Birthday - romantic husband and wife dinner) was fabulous. The wine selection recommended by Marco was superb. The ribeye steaks were melt-in-your-mouth, cut with a fork, arguably the best steaks we have ever had (and we frequent high-end steak restaurants). Overall, we were so pleased with Azul's that we will return again and again with friends and family who visit. Our highest recommendation!"

  • "For a supposedly "premier" restaurant in a premier J W Marriott Resort, the general lack of a number of fresh seafood entrees was surprising. Almost no lobster in lobster bisque. Child friendly menu items almostnon-existent. Service was OK, but no offer of ground salt or pepper, parmesan cheese or balsamic vinegar for Caprese salad was shocking. Very expensive and definitley NOT worth the $$$. It's a no go for me at Azul in the future."

  • "Yes it is a beautiful setting - although it looks to an internal pond not the ocean. And the food is quite good. But for the money, even in the context of Ko Olina's very high prices, it's just not worth it. Which may be why it was basically empty on a recent Friday. Add to that one of the least well stocked wine lists - they were out of half the white wines on the already desultory list - and it just isn't a high end experience."

  • "The atmosphere is beautiful and romantic, somewhere between modern italian and tropical boutique. We had an excellent Italian 3 course feast at Azul sitting outside overlooking Rays swimming in a laggoon. The setting was great, food fresh, incredible and plentiful, and the wine list exhausting and mostly reasonable priced. Received excellent service from waiter Stuart who let us linger well passed closing to finish dessert and a delicious Sangiovese. And all for far, far less than one would expect from a luxury resort."

  • "Stuart was wonderful. He catered to our every need and helped us celebrate the end of our honeymoon as well as my husband's birthday with a very special dining experience. We would definitely return to Azul and ask for Stuart on our next vacation! We also overheard the table next to us and they were raving about their server as well, asking for his name to request for his section the following night. Looks like the management knows how to hire the right crew for the job!"

  • "We dined at Azulejo located in the Marriott Ihilani hotel. The ambience was lovely and relaxing. The good offerings were authentic and well prepared. The restaurant was quite large with indoor and outdoor dining. The canvas awnings provided relief from the sun and discouraged the birds which can be a problem for outdoor diners in Hawaii. Out meal was followed by impeccable desserts and espresso. We will definitely return!"

  • "My husband and I went to Azul which is set in the JW Marriott in Ko'Olina, for our 20th wedding anniversary. We asked for Bombay gin, which is a fairly common gin and we were told there was none. They may get it next month then when the entree came it was extremely spicy. The waitress did try to correct it and brought me another entree without as much spice. When we got the bill, the waitress told us they gave us a $7.95 discount on a $90 dinner bill. Instead at being a JW Marriott I must have been at a Walmart. I was very surprised the odd discount. They would have been better off offering us a complimentary dessert. I spoke to the manager and he was gracious and tried to repair the wrong. I still say don't go until they improve."

  • "We were sat at a romantic table at the side of a salt water pond and were able to watch the sunset over palm trees. Our waiter, Owen, was not only knowledgeable regarding the menu and wine list, but the fish in the water swimming by! He was an absolute delight and engaged in pleasant conversation throughout the evening. The food was perfecto! The fish, cooked to perfection and the vegetables were complementary to the fish. The tastes mingled in our mouths and created better flavors as the food was consumed. We chose Azul as it's close to home (Kapolei) to avoid the hassle of going downtown, but ended up pleasantly surprised at the professionalism displayed by all restaurant staff and the outstanding culinary treasures consumed! "

  • "Went to Azul to celebrate wife's birthday. Initial table was not good (next to noisy wedding reception) and had to ask to be moved. Second table was much better. But, server seemed to have too many tables to handle. Ordered bottle of wine which came after appetizers, and just minutes before dinner, so switched to just 2 glasses. Food was fine, but nothing to rave about, nothing special. Server made no mention of birthday celebration, no extra effort, no birthday dessert. Silver linings: received "birthday discount" off bill, and no charge for wine. Appreciated reductions to bill to make-up for service quality, but would rather have paid full price and had better experience."

  • "Each time we've been to Oahu, we pick a special night to dine at Azul (our anniversary). The table by the lagoon couldn't be more romantic. Unfortunately this time, there was a problem with the tiki torch by our table, so we had to move, but that was no problem because the restaurant owner, Marco, is more involved in the operation of this restaurant than I've ever seen anywhere. He snapped his fingers and we were set up at a new table in the blink of an eye. He welcomes all diners as if he were welcoming them into his home. With the friendly bartender and attentive waitstaff do NOT miss this restaurant when in Oahu! Andy (food and beverage mgr for the Ihilani?) also went over and above to make sure we had the table we requested."

  • "I was looking forward to a nice romantic meal. The prices are quite high, portions small, steak overlooked, and the dessert was so bad it was sent back. The crime brûlée was soupy. The ambience was nice but there was a loud wedding party right next to us.this was supposed to be the romantic end to our time on Oahu. It certainly was not!"

  • "This was our second time to Azul in 2 years and thought that dinner was just OK. The food was not impressive for what we paid. We ordered Linguine al Pesto Genovese (Linguine with original Pesto recipe, potatoes and green beans) and Fettuccine all’Aragosta (Homemade Fettuccine sautéed in olive oil, garlic, splash of white wine, Lobster and Cherry Tomatoes). Both were mediocre. My husband said that I make better pesto at home and they weren't very generous with the veggies. The 1/2 lobster in my pasta was not fresh, and slightly mushy. For dessert, we shared a strawberry cheesecake that was fine, but again was just OK. Overall, all flavors were kind of flat and we missed the WOW factor we expect from fine dining restaurants."

  • "My wife and I have eaten there many times and we were looking forward to our latest experience, however we were very disappointed this time. The food was not anything out of ordinary but expensive. Carpacchio was tough and stringy. We ordered Belvedere martinis and they brought Skyy vodka without asking permission for the substitution. The entre was just ordinary. We felt a definite decline in the restaurant and will probably not return."

  • "This is the second time I have tried Azul. The food is horrible. Steaks are subpar..and overpriced. I can cook a better one from Costco on my grill. No flavor at all. My wife had the Steak and Lobster and the Filet was like a hockey puck. The chef needs to take the night off and watch how they do it over at Ruth Chris. This is supposed to be an high end Italian restaurant with white table clothes etc. There were people in there with Flip flops on. Needs to have a dress code. The JW Marriott should be embarrassed at the quality of food. I will say on a positive note that the reservation on Open Table was smooth and the server knew what the occasion was for. That was nice. She did check on us throughout the meal but too much."

  • "Nice quiet atmosphere with a friendly wait staff, but the restaurant was running behind for Valentines Day. We didn't get our first course until over 40 mins after our reservation. Since they were behind the cooks rushed the food. Our risotto was hard and our steaks were very rare (a problem if you like them medium rare)."

  • "We were here Valentine's Day this year. I guess Italian food is not the thing to get in Hawaii. There was a prix fixe menu. The only course that was tasty was the fried arugula with mushroom salad. It was unique and well done. Everything else was a disappointment. The lobster in the risotto course and the shrimp in the surf and turf courses tasted as though they had been sitting under hot lamps for hours...something like you would expect ordering from a buffet in Las Vegas or something. The service was sad, too. They did not bring us a bread basket and did not refill my water glass. We were going to leave a low tip but then they slapped on a 20% automatic tip. Maybe it was just an off night given it was Valentine's Day? Who knows."

  • "Our reservation was at 8:30pm, but we arrived at 8:10 to request Stuart as our server -- we enjoyed having him at our first visit. The receptionist said a table would be ready in 10 minutes, so my wife and I waited outside. While we were having a great conversation, we noticed that it was already 8:50! After I complained to the receptionist, it took another 5 minutes before we were seated. After we sat, the server (it wasn't Stuart!) immediately served us with a fixed Valentine meal which we didn't know (nor were we told) we were limited to. I didn't complain since we were very hungry and I didn't want to make the mood worse. What ruined the evening for me was when the server automatically charged us gratuity and no kamaaina discount!"

  • "Due to wind we ate inside - otherwise the marks would have been outstanding across the board. The view out on the pool is beautiful. Food was outstanding anyway. Pasta sauces are genuine; appropriate amount as Italians would serve. We didn't have Secondis, but we did have dessert - gelato may have been from Italian receipe. If so, it was too cold and had ice crystals throughout."
