A word from Ayalas
Chef Juan welcomes you to his hometown of Galena and his unique cultural blend of Mexican and American cuisine at Ayalas. Born in the state of VeraCruz, Mexico, Juan Dorantes grew up with a love and appetite for food. As a child, he looked forward to his visits at Grandma Ayala's house for dinner.

He then learned how she blended the freshest ingredients from the markets to create her many wonderful dishes, which Juan has used as inspiration in his diverse menu. Enjoy!

We were the only two in the restaurant and we had such personal service. I had the fish tacos and they were delicious. The only thing is, I wish I could have tried a tamale. We were to early and it was not high season yet. Friendly people and good food.

We ordered the Guacamole which was good but had a little too much lime. I ordered the Steak Mexicana (not sure of the exact name) medium rare. It came out bloody and the server was very attentive and asked if the steaks were done to our liking.I said mine was too rare. She took it back and it came back very well done. My wife also ordered a steak dish and hers was cooked properly but both our steaks were as tough as shoe leather. The menu also said the the steak was covered with tomatoes and jalapenos but had little of either but lots of green and red bell pepper and onion. The chef came out to check on us but did not seem concerned when we told him the steaks were tough. This was a very forgettable meal.
