Aya SofiaGreat St. Louis GemA not to be missed eating experience in St. Louis.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome! We went to celebrate my birthday and had a great time as usual. We got there a little early and were seated in the bar. The bartender asked if we would like cocktails. We were seated after a short wait. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The waiter was attentive without being obnoxious. The appetizer was delicious and just the perfect portion. Our entrées were delicious (kofte and roasted lamb) and well prepared. This is our go to restaurant for special occasions and average weekdays!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food; would go to againThis is not my first time at Aya Sophia, but it was my first "date brunch" with my husband at Aya. He said 1.5/2 thumbs up. The last time I was there I had the eggs benedict, and it was to die for. This time I tried eggs Florentine and it was a bit underwhelming. The biscuits were delish, and so were the potatoes, but the eggs were inconsistent. The only other complaint was that the waiter gave us straws (without wrappers) using his bare hands. That was a bit of a turnoff for me. I would go again but I think I would stick with my norm. I will say my hubby's pancakes looked really really good.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat time at Aya Sofia! My friends and I got together at Aya Sofia for dinner. The server was very attentive and helpful. We enjoyed our meal and it arrived to our table promptly. We will be back, thank you so much!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat new findFound online looking for a romantic dinner and was very pleased.
Wife ordered lamb chops and I had one of two catch the day selections. Both were outstanding. I almost never use that word but the food quality was just that. Fresh and not overstated. Nice, simple, perfect.
Seemed like there was somewhere else our server would have rather been, but he handled everything perfectly and was nice enough.
New favorite place we think.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFoodThe food was fantastic! I went for Mother's Day for something a little different and my mom and two sisters loved it! I will be going back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great meal.Consistency is the keyword here. The restaurant knows how to do it right. The food is always great and the calamari may be the best in the STL.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Meditteranean food in STLAya Sofia has the best Mediterranean food in St. Louis, hands down. I've ordered something different every time I've been, and been blown away each time. Be sure to order a side of hummus -- it's unbelievable.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst VisitThis was our first visit to Aya Sofia. We enjoyed the Mother's Day brunch.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Mediterranean foodWhile they are billed as Turkish, they have all sorts of other dishes, more Mediterranean in focus. Very good lamb dish and the grilled fish special was perfectly cooked.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've always found the foodWe've always found the food to be delicious and varied. Our most recent visit was no exception. They were very accommodating of one member of our group with some dietary restrictions. Excellent, as always.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently a favorite!Consistently a favorite! Once again, Aya Sofia didn't disappoint. ReservationsFood very good. Reservations were late due to heavy business, but was worth the wait.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed our lunch--previouslyWe enjoyed our lunch--previously only had dinner there, but choices for lunch were great.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat can I say? Our partyWhat can I say? Our party of 7 had a great time at Aya Sophia. The only possible criticism that I might have is that the room was slightly noisy, but when a room is full, that tends to happen. I should also point out that the room being full is a sign of a popular restaurant. I have been to Aya Sophia before, and I have never had a bad experience. I would be happy to rave about the food, but you really need to experience it for yourself.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe lamb chops were so perfect! The lamb chops were so perfect! The seasonings were interesting, and the lamb was cooked exactly as requested. They were so tender and tasty.

Everything was delicious.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAya Sofia- Lovely!I have been to Ayay Sofia a number of times in the past.
I took my mother and father here for their birthdays a few years ago and returned with them just last month for their anniversary dinner. It's hard to get them to try things that are different from "American", but even they love the food here.
From Filet Mignon to Salmon, to chicken and beef skewers and lamb, there is nothing not to love on this menu. Everything is so well-seasoned that it's hard to pick a favorite. For me, another selling point is that the meat of any dish always fall right off the bone. That's when you know that it has been cooked/ grilled perfectly!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first visit. This was our first visit. Loved it and can't wait to come back.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Mediterranean Food in St. LouiFood was excellent - captures the ethnic qualities of the Middle East.
As with many fantastic restaurantes, the ambient noise moves from your categories of moderate to "ENERGETIC."
This is part and partial to your success.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love this wonderful restaurant! What a wonderful little restaurant! My husband and I ate here again (2nd time in 2 weeks) after we initially came in with a group of friends. So far we have enjoyed the lamb chops, mousaka, kofte meatballs, and the fresh fish special for 2 people. Everything was very delicious but I can't stop thinking of the fish. I am going back again this week for more to satisfy my new craving. Hopefully they will still have that. I love the sampler platter of apps and their homemade baklava was the best I've ever had. We have had a different server on each occasion and both were pleasant and professional. The restaurant itself is very pretty. I hope the weather is nice so that we can eat and drink wine on the patio next time we go.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was fabulous withThe food was fabulous with a terrific wine list. Beautiful day so we sat outside. Not a buffet, which was fine. Refined menu that day with generally lower prices than the regular menu (nice suprise). Food was fantastic. Service initially was good, but once we got our food the waiter was very slow to come check on us. Had to flag down waiter to get check. It was Easter though, and they were busy, so we cut him some slack. Definitely would go again!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great Easter brunchHad a great Easter brunch here.
