We went for a 70th birthday. They acknowledged with table note and free dessert. The food was delicious...get the steak. It was quiet enough to have a conversation without yelling. Service was top notch. We will definitely return.

Our family of 6 (3 adults, 2 seniors and a teenager)ate at Axel's for Thanksgiving. They had an amazing, over-the-top, buffet. Everything tasted great and there was something for everyone. It was a bit crowded in the dining area and it was loud. Staff was friendly. I think we all would go again.

I am a frequesnt visitor and bring people there regularly. Although the service was very friendly as always, it was exceptionally slow on Monday lunch. It took "forever" to get a couple of glasses of wine before lunch, and didn't improve much after that. Sorry, but I think you would want to know!

Loved the signature pop-over bread and maple butter. Walley was delicious! The chicken soup had dumplings like my Mom makes ....mmmmmm. I appreciated that there wasn't loud background music so conversation was not a problem at our table as is often the case at some restaurants.

Ordered the artichoke crab appetizer, would not do it again. artichoke was left in large pieces and sauce was thin. My rib eye steak was good. My wife's walleye was ok. The service and food are much better at the Chanhassen location over the Roseville location that we went to tonight.

The bull bites, prime rib and accompanying potatoes were good. The coconut shrimp, I've had better at Red Lobster. The popovers were hard like bread not crispy, the maple butter was excellent with the inside of the popover though. The salad my fiance got with his dinner was just a wedge of iceberg, some carrots and cucumbers on the side with a side of blue cheese dressing, it could have used some creativity, I've had better looking salads at Friday's. The chicken and dumpling soup was so salty all I did was eat the dumplings because I couldn't finish the rest. I feel like if you're going to spend over $70 on food, it should be better!

Food was excellent; my steak could be cut with a fork. They also have a very large gluten free menu. Our server Kristy was very pleasant but the reason I give service a good is because drinks and food took a long time to get to our table. My group of five were offered a free appetizer to make up for the delay.

Our waiter should have been working at a Denny's not a restraunt that serves $36 steaks. Awful service. Embarassing really. Took a client there and we were not even able to order for almost 2 hours and it was hardly busy. Quite frustrating for a $200+ meal for 3 with little or no booze.

We keep returning to this restraunt. Have had mixed reviews, but this time we were very pleased with our experience. We were celebrating my birthday and noted this in our reservation. There was a card signed by staff, nice touch. We had all you can eat crab legs. They were great! My husband is still talking about them this time. My only criticism is the popovers are always overcooked and the baked potato undercooked and hard. The Caesar salad and the teriyaki green beans (my personal fave) are very good. I was also offered a slice of chocolate cake for my birthday which I got to-go. This was very good and a nice surprise! Overall, I am very pleased with the changes made by management over the past year, and we will be back!!!

Although the service was good, our food was not. My fish was terribly overcooked and had to be sent back. By the time my second meal was done, my husband was also finished with his food. Even the second try with the halibut was not that great. My husband's meal was so so. Way over priced for the quality of food. Try somewhere else.

Service was painfully slow. We recieved water and it was almost 30 minutes before someone took our order. And the restaurant was not busy. The waitstaff seemed more interested in standing together talking than in serving us. The male waiter at the next table was quick and efficient. The table was seated at the same time as us. They were finished and leaving before we had recieved our dinner.

We have eaten at this particulat restaurant quite a few times, and every time, it delivers. And OH those popovers are to DIE for! :-) Best I've found anywhere. The maple butter they serve with it is amazing! My husband and I went with our best friends, and were it not for having to get back for the babysitter, we would never have left. Wonderful, cozy, quiet little spot for a small get together.
