"I think Axel's is hit or miss. We had a very bad experience with both our food and service a few years back and had not visited since. We decided to give it a try again. This time we had great service but again not great at all food. 3 of the 5 dinners were ok. Nothing was hot when it came to our table and my prime rib was very undercooked, very tough and had no flavor. It was also very cold. They did bring me a new dinner but by that time I was eating alone since the rest in my party had finished eating. Our server was great. When I told her about the food she did order me something else and said a manager would come out. A manager never did show up."

"We tried this place when they first opened in our area. It was very bad. So we thought we would try again, after a few years have gone by. The waitress was great, the wait time between food items was atrocious. The noise level was very loud, even with us sitting in the more secluded porch/room. We could bearly hear each other.

We ordered the Spinich Artichoke dip, which was very runny and not great. Our entree's were declicious, except my wife found chicken bones in her Alfredo w/chicken. My cowboy burger was very good. We ordered Death by Chocolate and the italian donuts (which take longer to make) only to find out they were out of the donuts, yet it still took 20 minutes for our desserts to get to us."

"Went for easter brunch. Extensive food selection. Almost too much but it was good. A little noisy. The tv was playing a food contest show. It was a little disconcerting. Overall a good place."

"The Easter Brunch was on the costly side at over $100 for the four of us (before taxes and tip), but the variety was great, and the food was well prepared. As in all brunches, for those that don't "brunch" often, it is best to take small quantities to start as the food quickly gets cold and you end up with a "garbage" look on your plate, unappetizing at best. Axel's Bonfire had enough to choose from that you could have gone back 5 or 6 times for smaller platters of related food that go well together and would please many different pallets. The children (3 and 1) enjoyed the experience as well."

"Went for Easter Brunch buffet. Some items were excellent like the prime rib they were carving and the pizzas were good when right out of the oven. I would have like a few more vegetable options that were less caloric and the walleye was overdone, but overall the buffet had a very good selection including a whole section for the kids and the desserts were excellent! The staff was also friendly and gracious!"

"axels bonfire in Blaine was an amazing experience for my family and I. We were looking for a place that had a wide selection of menu options that was different from your neighborhood cafe. There was something for every pallet and price range. At Axels Bonfire, you can order ordinary chicken or a burger and still have never tasted anything like it. At Axels Bonfire ordinary is extraordinary and exceptional is their standard."

"Our small party went for Sunday brunch buffet at about 11:30. Unfortunately, most of the breakfast food was cold (french toast, bacon) or unappetizing. There appeared to be only one server who was also the bartender. The lack of customers should have tipped us off. For the price ($17) the buffet was not at all worth it. Very disappointing experience--I expected better from this restaurant."
