AVOHappy family!Avo was the perfect place for a family celebration. Our server was attentive and professional, while also friendly. We all ordered different entrees and each one of us insisted ours was the best. Even my teens who don't eat avocado lapped up the Avo Dip, something I order every time I dine there. I had lamb a burger cooked med rare and it was delicious and of course the match stick fries are the best! I also ordered their margarita which is very well done. Fresh ingredients, no mix which is a pet peeve of mine! We sat out on the upstairs porch, which is great this time of year. It's quieter than the restaurant, when it's full. My only complaints concerned the ambience (the tables pushed againt the front wall are a bit plain) and the noise level (there's not much acoustic treatment and when busy, it can get quite loud). But you go to a restaurant for the food - and AVO will not disappoint. The staff are friendly, but not overbearing. The Sunday ha;f-price bottles of wine special gives you a chance to try wines that are a bit more pricey than you would normally order. The Salted Caramel Creme was amazing, but really all of the food was fantastic (bacon macaroni and cheese, tenderloin foie gras sliders, deviled eggs, pimento cheese burger). So much sounded good that we completely over-ordered at both visits just to be able to sample as much as possible. It was a collection of southern and traditional breakfast and lunch foods. I had a burger with a side of grits. It was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time, and the grits were delicious! I paired it with a pot of french press coffee and it was perfect. In fact, we were having so much fun that we opted to move to the lounge area after dinner to continue our conversation and drinks instead of heading out to the bars.
Our waiter, Brett, provided the best, most fun service we could have ever asked for and was able to make phenomenal dinner and drink suggestions. Your entire staff went above and beyond to accommodate our party with our pre-dinner lingerie party, dinner and post-dinner plans. Everyone I spoke with along the way was nothing but courteous and extremely helpful.
We will definitely be back to Avo and will suggest this restaurant to any of our friends looking for a unique dining experience!
