  • "Interesting use of wholesome grains, however, the food was just ok. The bread with one of the appetizers, and my salmon were burned "charred". Not a flavor I enjoy. The industrial look, is cold, uninviting. The bar-stools are not functional, in that there is only one rung in the front, not on the sides, therefore your feet are dangling if you turn sideways to talk to someone behind you or next to you. However, the service was superb, and they are aiming to please. I am very hopeful for their future."

  • "The food here is good and affordable, and it is a very kid-friendly place. It almost annoys me, as I do not have children of my own. I went here twice. Once was with a friend for lunch. This is the perfect lunch spot! The other was for a big group dinner. It was just too loud and there was a kid that wouldn't stop fussing and because of the logistics of the restaurant, you can hear everything. We had the same waitress and she didn't seem to like her job all that much and seemed overwhelmed with the large group. The manager made up for it by sending out free appetizers to our table. Very affordable and diverse menu- anything from burgers to fancy fish entrees. "

  • "Duck was more risotto than duck by a long margin. Shortbread steak and cheese was wet and mushy. But what annoys me the most is when a restaurant is essentially empty and the waitstaff decides it's more important to chat it up with each other at the bar then it is to wait on the customer"

  • "We've eaten at Avenue Kitchen several times and have never been disappointed. This time I had the Branzino (new to the menu) which was excellent. Ambiance is "upscale casual." If you come early you can bring older kids for a burger or flatbread pizza, but you never feel like you're at a "family" restaurant, and usually by 7:30 it's mainly adults. Our servers have always been friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. If you come, stay for dessert - we have had several and they've all been very good."

  • "we went to Avenue Kitchen and the noise level was deafening. At the end of the meal the waitress said we had an off night, that there were two birthday parties going on and it was louder and crazier than usual- including diners running amongst the tables greeting each other. However, if the food had warranted it, I would return. But the food was merely ok, my husband had the tuna tartar and while he said it was okay, the portion was tiny. I had the spinach salad which again was fine, but nothing exceptional and no elegance to the preparation or presentation. The new short rib pizza was bland and the crust was lacking any crispyness. The desserts are all served in the same very shallow dish, so if you want even a bite get your own!"

  • "Four friends getting together for dinner found this spot to be perfect. We went during the week and got a quiet table in the rear where we could chat and be heard. Our server was efficient and helpful and all of us were very satisfied with our meals which included bronzino, salmon prepared as requested, shrimp cavatelli, and a burger. Would definitely return."

  • "I was very excited to try Kitchen Avenue. Their menu looked amazing online. The food was good and I would definitely recommend people to eat here if it wasn't for the service. The staff seemed distracted socializing amongst each other from the minute we walked in up until we left. Our waiter came by once to check up on us and then we never saw him again until he realized we were ready to get the bill. A lot of the staff walked by our table yet no one came by to fill our waters. I am so glad I had a water bottle in my bag. We walked out and none of the 4 girls standing at the reception desk seemed to acknowledge us or greet us goodbye."

There's so many good choices at Avenue kitchen that it was hard to make this decision. what might seem to be a simple choice turned out great, it was really really good. I highly recommend it. If you have a large crowd maybe order and each share a slice for appetizer."

We were not at all disappointed. We all had salads and different entrees. Each one was delish. Mine was a short rib - tender, moist, flavorful. The portions are the right size. The decor is fun and upbeat. We'll be back."

  • "Out of all the local options, Avenue Kitchen provides the best option for a casual business lunch. I had heard complaints about the noise level, but I was able to hear the two people who I invited to lunch. We were in a booth and there were only 3 of us, so that may have helped. We were seated immediately and the level of service was perfect. We were in no hurry. We all had salads with a meat (chicken or steak) added. The cost for 3 lunches was a bit high, so I would not recommend this place if you are paying your own bill. The bill was $72 with tip for 3 salads and soft drinks. If you are looking to just eat, comparable food could be had at Panera for less than half the price. I would recommend this place for a business lunch."

  • "I have been to Avenue kitchen before and have only had wonderful experiences. However this time was a significant disappointment. The waiter could not seem to be bothered with us he was seemingly annoyed by a question about the specials if any that day. He was extremely under attempted to our table and only return to deliver our bill. Our food came and looked like somebody had prepared it in about 30 seconds nothing extraordinary nothing outstanding like I had experienced previously there. It will be very difficult for me to return again."

  • "This was my second time at this restaurant. I went with my husband and another couple. The food might have been good if it were served properly. Everything from appetizers to dessert was served one person at a time so we each waited for the other to get their food. My friend said his salmon was dry and my scallops were cold. Even my husband's coffee was cold. It does not live up to its prices. When I told the host about our disappointing meal, he said he was sorry, but never got the manager or offered to accommodate us in any way. What a shame; I won't go back there. I'd rather go to Appleby's, ha ha!"

  • "We ate here on Valentine's Day and all around each dish was a disaster. My daughter and wife both had a Caesar salad. It was over-dressed and had a load of dry mustard in the dressing -- totally gross. I had Tuna tar tar which tasted really fishy -- the fish was not fresh. I also ordered potato gnocchi which was a complete mushy mess -- under cooked, sloppy and slimy. They tried to hide it by drowning it in Bolognese sauce. My son had the filet which came burnt and overcooked. My daughter had the hummus -- they tried to deep fry the pita (WHY?) which caused them to be burnt and greasy. My wife had the salmon burger -- which again was not fresh. We have eaten here before and been pleased -- NEVER AGAIN."
