  • "I have been to Avenue kitchen before and have only had wonderful experiences. However this time was a significant disappointment. The waiter could not seem to be bothered with us he was seemingly annoyed by a question about the specials if any that day. He was extremely under attempted to our table and only return to deliver our bill. Our food came and looked like somebody had prepared it in about 30 seconds nothing extraordinary nothing outstanding like I had experienced previously there. It will be very difficult for me to return again."

  • "We obviously missed this local restaurant, slightly hidden behind businesses, but others didn't has it was quite a surprise to see the restaurant quite busy on this friday evening. Nice deco, simple yet sophisticated. The menu had a good mix of dishes. We had a nice meal and are likely to go back or send someone else there."

  • "This was my second time at this restaurant. I went with my husband and another couple. The food might have been good if it were served properly. Everything from appetizers to dessert was served one person at a time so we each waited for the other to get their food. My friend said his salmon was dry and my scallops were cold. Even my husband's coffee was cold. It does not live up to its prices. When I told the host about our disappointing meal, he said he was sorry, but never got the manager or offered to accommodate us in any way. What a shame; I won't go back there. I'd rather go to Appleby's, ha ha!"

  • "We had a nice Valentine's Day dinner at Avenue Kitchen--wonderful food, great service. Mussels, scallops, the beef filet were all excellent. I like that the menu is flexible enough that we would be able to come back on a not-so-special occasion and get a burger and a beer and spend much less."

  • "We ate here on Valentine's Day and all around each dish was a disaster. My daughter and wife both had a Caesar salad. It was over-dressed and had a load of dry mustard in the dressing -- totally gross. I had Tuna tar tar which tasted really fishy -- the fish was not fresh. I also ordered potato gnocchi which was a complete mushy mess -- under cooked, sloppy and slimy. They tried to hide it by drowning it in Bolognese sauce. My son had the filet which came burnt and overcooked. My daughter had the hummus -- they tried to deep fry the pita (WHY?) which caused them to be burnt and greasy. My wife had the salmon burger -- which again was not fresh. We have eaten here before and been pleased -- NEVER AGAIN."

  • "The white walls and high ceilings give this place a modern, open and lively atmosphere. The high ceilings make it a little noisy but the four of us had no problem hearing the conversation in our booth. Two of us had the short ribs and we both thought it was great. The pizza and poblano dinners were very good but maybe another choice next time. All of the meals could have been served hotter. Service was prompt, really friendly and knowledgable about the menu and drinks."

  • "We enjoyed our food, because it really was spectacularly good, but as it was our night out, we did want to sit and enjoy. We were in and out in 1 hour exactly. And we ordered dessert!! We were still working on our salads when our main courses arrived. We are willing to give them another try - but I sincerely hope we will not be rushed through our meal again."

There was a distinct gap in time between removal of the soup course and arrival of our lunches; which seemed a little off given the restaurant was not terribly busy while we were there."

  • "My husband and I dine out often and were thrilled when Avenue Kitchen opened. A new restaurant in our neighborhood was exciting and we looked forward to enjoying the experience. We have now been there 3 times and I'm sorry to say its been 3 strikes and we're out. The restaurant is great aesthetically but the food does not measure up. Everything looks better than it tastes and is average at best. We were there recently with friends and all of us were disappointed. We had a hard time finding something appealing to select and then none of us enjoyed what we did end up with. . Too bad since we thought it had potential. We hope they improve but for now we will not be going back any time soon."

  • "I've eaten here several times in the past few weeks! It has a wonderful atmosphere, clean- line interesting decor, delicious food, and very personable staff and service. Lunch was a delicious Avocado BLT and a side of the roasted Brussels sprouts that some friends had rightly raved about! Brunch time is or has been more quiet and very relaxed. A creme brulee waffle was superb and a quartino of mimosa the great drink find. I will be back again! Be sure to look for Avenue - as it is a little off Lancaster Avenue and not visible from the road. Worth the effort every time."

We had a reservation for 6pm and it was not crowded at all at this time, we ended up staying at the bar and eating, so my husband could see the TV and football game :). It filled up as the evening went on, but it didn't hamper the experience, it wasn't too loud. The food and drinks were great and I love the decor. Will definitely go back. Service was excellent, our bartender even chatted with us."

  • "The arancini balls are the best i have ever had. Do not miss them as an appetizer. The Board meeting - cheese and charcuterie was decent - could have used a knife on the board itself and a few more crackers or crostini for the cheese. i didn't care for the faro salad at all, but my lunch guests enjoyed a delicious butternut squash soup and the grilled cheese as well as a big thumbs up for the arugala salad."

Our group of four shared the tuna tartare and a salad. Two ordered entrees and two ordered sandwiches. All of the food was delicious and made with the food-conscious in mind! I look forward to trying more of the menu!"

  • "Great little hidden location in the middle of everything. Beautiful design, comfy seating and friendly, helpful staff. Two tv's in the bar to keep up on the game, but not overpowering. Food is fantastic, clean and simple but well prepared and fairly priced for a more upscale experience without all the "huff". Great place to start an evening out. My new local favorite. Get the chocolate filled donut dessert!"

  • "We went to Avenue Kitchen this weekend. Probably ought to have been a warning tht we could get in at 7 on a Saturday for a group of 5 wth four hours notice. The large salads were small. The tuna was overcooked. The "dressing on side" was ignored. Doubt we will go back anytime soon."
