  • "My boyfriend and I are always looking for new/great restaurants to try. Reservations helped get a good table almost as soon as we walked in the door. Fried calamari was good, but not as crispy as I like it, however; I am very particular about what I eat and how it is prepared. Our server was attentive but did not rush us through each course. The beet salad was outstanding. The veal dish was okay- not quite enough meat for my boyfriend and it was prepared so - so. The only thing really missing for us was a Martini before dinner but the wine suggested by our server was outstanding. We will definitely return and I would like to have a girls night out soon!"

  • "This place was discovered by my partner and myself one morning as we were frequent visitors of Yellow Vase bistro in front of Avenue Italy Cucina Italiana. It was a good thing that they allow pets in the patio section or we would have never tried it. We always travel with our small dogs. This place was amazing. The food is out of this world. The Seafood soup is fantastic. The server Abel was great. He made sure we had bread, coffee and even water for the puppies. I will definately make this one of my regular spots when in the area. We will also bring friends from out of town. Can't get much better views that what you have here."

  • "Avenue Italy is relatively new and the chef and staff are eager to please. Had the clam linguine and it was perfect as it was light and clean in taste. The clams were fresh and the amount of clam juice was proportionate to the amount of pasta. Fresh herbs in all the dishes were a plus. The branzino fish seems to be on the daily special list often and is light and delicious with lemons and capers. They are a bit heavy handed with their olive oil in finishing a dish presentation. Ask them to make a mushroom risotto and your heart will cry out for more. The portions were a bit large for me but I'm certain the neighborhood dictates that perimeter in irder to ensure regular repeat business. Bravo Chef and I shall return."

  • "I was visiting from the east coast last Christmas. This restaurant had good food, nice ambience and quite good service. Problem is: I left a $100 jacket there accidentally and didn't realize it until I was boarding my plane home. I called the restaurant and they agreed to FedEx it to me. When the jacket did not arrive, I called them just to hear they still had it but had not sent it yet. I was promised by the manager it would be sent. After numerous phone calls (my favorite was "the manager is busy, can he call you back?"; never called back) and broken promises, the jacket never arrived, and it is three months later. Would you go to any business establishment who treats their "valued" customers this way? I sure wouldn't."

  • "The waiter kept forgetting to follow up. No oil & vinegar with the salad, no butter when requested, no parmesan cheese on our pasta. He spent more time trying to look busy than actually working his section. It's all about the service and this was weak."

  • "While we liked the ambience, the rest of our dining experience was so-so at best. Ordered a beer, which was on the list and they were out of it. Ordered another from the list and the waiter came back and said they were also out of that one. "The bartender forgot to order it." Drank water instead. While my pasta was very good, (capellini) as was my ceasar salad, my friends' pasta, penne arrabiata, was unpalatable. Over spiced and way too salty. He didn't bother saying anything to the waiter at this point. This location is so nice and I would love to have a local place to go but unfortunately, I'm still waiting for them to get it together."

  • "This was our first time dining @ Ave Italy and was excited that Osso Bucco was the Friday special. One would expect that the special of the day would be great but very disappointing.... meat was tough and hard to chew. They were nice to replace it. It tasted better but not as good as I expected. Other than the Osso Bucco our overall experience was very good and we would come back again."

  • "Our large monthly dining group really appreciatted receiving separate checks for each couple and individual, which is always a consideration in our choice of restaurants. Smaller salads should be offered as accompanments to entrees. The mussels were fine but the sauce was too salty. My tastes would prefer some tentacles with the calamari. Also the amount of dippimg sauce was too little for the quantity of squid. Tastier sauce wou7ld have been appreciated, and more lemon would be great. Grated cheese wasn't offered for pasta, nut had to be requested. Likewise, although there were no pepper shakers on the table, ground pepper was not offered for the salads."

  • "Food was top notch. Probably the best bruschetta I have ever had. Penne pasta with vodka sauce was also excellent. Only "issues" was our server charged us for the more expensive bottle of wine even though we were served the less expensive wine that we requested. We all got the feeling that this was intentionally done and I never feel this. Sad when you MUST to look closely at the check. Also, we did feel rushed through our meal although there were open tables."

  • "We have returned to this restaurant numerous times and I have not had a dish I didn't like. The lentil soup is hearty and healthy, pastas are tasty and are always cooked al dente! Although not what I would call "kid-friendly," there are some good options for kids on the menu. And there is an option for outdoor seating (bring a jacket, even in summer) where your kids can get up and walk around the fountain area without bothering other diners. Wine selection is ok, but we always opt to bring our own. Service is not the fastest, but if you come with a leisurely dining experience in mind, it won't bother you. We'll be back."

  • "Although the service and servers were very attentive, we felt rushed. We ordered the appetizer, fried calamari was outstanding, and it appeared about 5 minutes after we ordered it. The waiter asked for our order during the appetizer and we ordered. Before we finised the calamari, they brought out the entrees. We "wrapped-up" dinner in less than 1 hour. I understand that the customer can control the timing and flow of the service, but I expect the wait staff to provide an enjoyable and relaxing flow to the meal. Having said that, Ave Italy remains one of our favorite restaurants."

  • "I was a little concerned about going on New Year's Eve, but I needn't have been. We were promptly greeted and seated on the nearly fully enclosed patio (it was a bit cool, but not on the patio). Service was very friendly but a little harried, not surprising considering the night. The place was busy and bustling, but not overly noisy outside. Food was quite good: I had a veal chop special, which was excellent (but I should have asked the price—$50!) and my wife had a seafood pasta which she enjoyed. In the past, we have come with friends with special needs, and have always been well taken care of. All in all, a good "go to" place."

  • "I had been to this local restaurant on 2 prior occasions. I thought it would be perfect for Christmas Eve. My party of 6 was escorted to the back outdoor patio to a table suitable for 4. I asked for an alternative and the hostess just said "I'm so sorry". We passed many larger tables on our way out to the patio, but I assumed they were reserved. They remained empty during our entire dinner. We pushed a few tables together for a more comfortable dining experience. Unfortunately, our appetizer was served cold, my first salad and entree choices were not available (at 6pm!) and my fish was soggy and drenched in oil. Finally, the dessert canolli was so hard that when I cut it with my knife, it shattered and spread all over the table."

  • "We had our three grown children and their spouses for dinner there for our annual Christmas dinner minus the grandchildren. Appetizers were good, great calamari. The entrees were very good, but the service was what stood out that evening. Our waiter was busy handling the large parties including ours, but he was very attentive and keen on ensuring our comfort and satisfaction of the restaurant. Our children and their spouses enjoyed the evening and liked the meal."

  • "This restaurant has a very well known chef and I expected more. The noise level was horrible. I could hardly hear my friends across the table. The linguina al mer had chili flakes and there was no mention of this in the menu description. My friend checca had chili it in as well. This was not mentioned in the menu. The eggplant parmesan was tasteless. Not at all up to the standard that we expected."

  • "While attending a conference in the area we were referred to Avenue Italy Cucina Italiana by another attendee. We made reservations on the same day. When we arrive we were warmly greeted and offered three different table options. This was great because my dinner-mate would have been upset had we been seated at the small table just at the entrance. There is a great bar. The place is energetic. If you are looking for a quiet environment, this is not it. However, it was not so loud that you could not carry on a conversation. The service was good, the food was excellent. Great flavors. Big portions. I was looking at a bottle of wine in the $70-95 range and when asked the waiter recommended a much less expensive bottle! Love it!"

  • "The chef Nima has a great expertise with this dish. the finish that he used on this dish is incredible. If you are nice he can create something for you too. He has a lentil soup that is the same as grandmom would make back in the day. It is always creative as was my risotto sparigi last Thursday evening. Eaten with a glass or ronero arneis which was a perfect accompaniment. Very attentive service from John and Abel too. You too will feel like a player in this house. A bella note awaits you in this establishment. I find that every ingredient is of the highest quality. On my next visit I will finally try the pasta. Until the giovedi promxima Ciao"

  • "Recently we had our wedding rehearsal dinner here, we had been given a recommendation for a restaurant beside this one but opted for Avenue Italy, and I am soooo glad we did. The waiter brought us a glass of champagne on the house, which was delicious. Followed by that we had the bread basket, the tapenade is to die for and the calamari, that was very good. The chef was so courteous, he came out to congratulate us, and offer suggestions. I saw him visiting with other tables too, which was nice. The lasagne was out of this world, as was the salmon. Everyone enjoyed their dishes immensely. And to finish our meal we had the creme brûlée which was exceptional. It was so good we came back on one of our honeymoon nights!"
