  • "This is a nice place walking distance from Boston Court Theater. I had a calzone. The crust was amazing. But I'd asked for no peppers and it came with peppers. The sausage was OK but not great. This place is clean and good enough."

  • "We must have ordered the wrong thing...lots of other people were having pizza. We had pasta with a really bad marinara sauce. The sauce had a potent artificial taste. Like it had about 10 times too much dried oregano in it. It also tasted like canned tomato paste. Awful. Our salad had no green parts of the lettuce in it. My husband had a bite of the salad and a bite of the pasta dish. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. But, we won't go back. "

  • "I had a reservation for 8:30. When I walked in at 8:20, the man (owner?) couldn't seem to find me at first. Then he admitted to me that they had a table big enough but they broke it up and accused me of being late. The food was mediocre. Nothing to write home about. Bruschetta - Bread was soggy. Was very bland. Fried Mozzarella Sticks - Run of the mill, pretty bland as well Wood Burned Delight Pizza - Expected a lot more from the "best pizza place in town" Could've stayed home with a Digiorno Broccoli And Rainbow Rotelli - Very bland, no taste Chicken Tequila Fettuccine - This I actually liked. Pretty flavorful Chicken Florentine - Also pretty flavorful. Chicken was juicy Fettuccine Alfredo - SUPER bland. Had absolutely no taste"

  • "Service was quick, courteous, and mostly attentive. The food was good, noting that it was not outstanding or innovative. I had the antipasto salad and prosciutto pizzza, while my date had the spring mix salad and the Avanti special. My antipasto salad was OK. Something you could put together at home with little effort. The prosciutto pizza was tasty with a nice thin crust and a good amount of flavor. My date loved the spring mix salad's lime-herb dressing and i must agree after tasting, it was pretty good. The Avanti special pizza, though, left the taste of the salad flat and failed to impress. Enough so that we traded pizzas. I found it OK, but nothing deserving the "Best Pizza in Pasadena" advertisement. Would I return? Not sure"

Refreshingly yummy salads and a delightful list of wood-fired pizzas make Avanti a wonderful neighborhood gem. The owner is on hand to oversee everything and make sure that everything at your table is just perfect! It is no wonder the place has won so many awards. JUST GO."

  • "Avanti's wood fired pizzas are outstanding. Probably our all time favorite is the Avanti special with bacon. The pizza dough itself is flavorful but combined with the saltiness of the bacon, the sweetness of the onion, the creaminess of the cheese and the aroma of the basil is divine. The small with the Cesear Salad is usually enough for the two of us (neither of us are big eaters). If we're especially hungry, we may throw in an order of the garlic knots which are also great. They have alot of other items on the menu as well and alot of inventive pizza topping combinations but we always seem to end up ordering our favorite."

  • "Tasty well-prepared thin, wood-fired pizzas, and lots ofwide choices for toppings from traditional to gourmet. The service is awful. Servers go out of their way to avoid eye-contact so you don't bother them. Very unprofessional bordering on disrespectful attitudes. Part of the problem was there was no team work/lack of good management and also too few servers with little experience when place gets busy. It is really too bad, because place has a lot of potential, but guess the owner not on top of his game... No matter how good food is it is not so unique, so with all the competition out there would rather go to CPK even if chain resataurant.. Guess if driving by and place not busy, might give them another chance but not any time soon."
