  • "Service was initially slow. Found out later that there was only one waiter; the young man was working as fast as he could, and he did a great job! Shame on Avanti for putting him in that position though! The food was fantastic for the price, a great value. The seafood risotto portion was tiny, but the salmon was generous. On a downside, the guest guitar player had his amp turned up so loud that we literally could not carry on a conversation. I asked the waiter if he would ask the gentleman to turn it down, and he did. The gentleman did apologize for the volume after his set. So all in all, a mixed review, great food at a great price, but the poor waiter was being asked to do too much. But would I go back? Yes, I would!"

  • "My husband And I came here for a first visit for Valentines Day Dinner. Although we were a little upset that there was a set menu for that night, it was amazing food. The steak was so tender and delicious. You couldn't tell it was live music unless he stopped playing in the middle of a piece (when someone would give him a tip he would stop and than them). He was a great musician. I went to work the following Monday and told everyone to go there! Thank you for the great night"

  • "Made these reservations because the establishment boasted world cuisine, but discovered after arriving it was a fixed menu. We asked to see the dinner plan and our server brought a piece of paper over that outlined three courses with no price attached and we didn't ask. The salad was awful, then a steak, fish and potatoes meal that lacked any unique flavor. Finally, a fancy hostess snack in strawberry yogurt. The food was mediocre at best, so imagine my surprise when our bill arrived for $150! Service was poor and the scheduled entertainment left the scene during the first course. Huge disappointment for what was otherwise a great date valentine's day date. Won't visit this place again. Bait and switch seems to be the game."

  • "So I booked a reservation here and when we got there it was a set menu, which was NOT noted at the time of the reservation. We thought nothing of it and decided to give it a shot (first mistake). After a sub-par appetizer, a tasty filet Mignon, and then a bundt cake dessert that could've come from Target, we received the check to find out that this exceptionally lacking dinner had the lovely price point of $60 a head. If it was $60 total, I might have been okay with its mediocrity, but at $130 for a couple it was utterly appalling. Lessons learned : don't stay when they drop a set menu on you & always ask how much it will cost."

  • "Mediocre service and the food tasted as if it was heated in a microwave and then brought out. Not to mention all of it could easily be replicated. I and many of the couples around me did not know until the server told us that the menu was set. Mind you I had a reservation and this was for valentines day. It was very apparent that they had issues with not telling people. IN fact one customer voiced it very loudly stating he was not happy with the fact that he was not told about the fixed menu until he was seated. He also stated that he had reservations just as I did. I expect much more than mediocre service at a place with a fixed menu and very expensive at that. Mediocre food, mediocre service, and immature servers."

  • "Avante is great for Valentine's Day! The pre-fixed menu is always good (filet & salmon), and they usually have live music - lovely! It is worth every penny which is $60 per meal. Liquor costs extra but is reasonably priced. Had to mark down food from outstanding to very good, because the dessert (chocolate cake) was a little dry. Also, there was no bread served. All other food was outstanding, and the plating was beautiful. Ambience was lovely with black tables and red cloth napkins. Our waiter accommodated us by substituting ice cream for the cake on 1 of our desserts. If you're looking for a special Valentine meal, this restaurant is definitely for you! We plan to come back every year. A Valentine winner!"

  • "I had only been to this restaurant previously for drinks at the bar & really enjoyed the ambience! I decided to take my family here for my grandmother's 92nd birthday! The food was wonderful; appetizers including sauted mushrooms served covered in Brie with toastettes, fried calamari & amazing caesar salads were all very tasty & beautiful presentation! Entrees were good, but not fabulous. The spaghetti and meatballs were awesome, pizzas were split, one was very fair & the other was great! They had a great dessert selection, but accomodated us with the cake we brought especially for my grandma! They all sang to her & it was a great evening! I will definitely recommend this place as well as return!"

  • "I had the steak and it was just scrumptious. We all loved our food except for the child's pizza but what do you expect on that. They did mess up our appetizers and soups but it was NYE. They where courteous and apologized a lot for it."

  • "It appears they were VERY short handed, and the service was extremely poor to almost non-existent. Reservation at 7:30, seated at 7:55. No water until 7:20. No bread at all. Finally got our food, which was actually great, but didn't get the wine we ordered, and then had to remind them to take it off the bill. Pretty exhausting experience overall, and not at all how we wanted to spend my birthday, and the holiday! By the time we left we almost felt lucky that we got what we did!!"

  • "This was our first visit. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the "mood music". The Caesar Salad and the Creme Brulee were both exceptional, and I enjoyed them very much. The main courses were 'good' but nothing to write home about. Would come back for the music, the Caesar Salad, Brulee and Coffee."
