A word from Aureole
Charlie Palmer's signature Progressive American cuisine first took root in the original townhouse location of Aureole, where the chef made an early commitment to farm over factory food. Today, Aureole continues to shine at One Bryant Park under the kitchen leadership of Executive Chef Marcus Gleadow-Ware. Dining at the contemporary Aureole is staged in two venues: the formal Dining Room and more casual Bar Room. In the Dining Room, terra-rich colors and golden lighting combine to create a comfortable environment and opulent warm glow, reminiscent of Aureole’s original townhouse intimacy. Evening guests may select from a 3-course prix fixe or tasting dinner menu. For lunch, a seasonal 3-course prix fixe menu is available as well as a la carte selections. Reservations can be made here for the Dining Room only. To reserve in our more casual bar room, please visit Aureole - Liberty Room.

Diner Reviews
  • "A nice lunch...it's my 2nd time at the new Aureole, once for dinner. Just not as good as the original."

  • "We booked a reservation through OPEN TABLE for a 6 pm this past Sunday evening (July 6th) and arrived at the restaurant to find out that it was closed. In the future I will call the restaurant directly (especially on weekends) because you did not have the correct information in your reservation system. Needless to say, I was disappointed."

  • "Excellent pre- fix dinner, not your usual overpriced and poor quality pre-theater fare."

  • "This was our second time at Aureole. Both times have been fantastic. The staff is very attentive and the food is from heaven."

  • "It was our first time at this place. We got there with my husband for our anniversary. The food is outstanding, the service's great. wine menu- awesome. Its pricey though, not for often visits. But for special occasions, wonderful place."

  • "My friend and I were in NYC for the July 4th weekend. I had tix to see Beautiful, which is playing next door. This restaurant is areal find. The server was excellent. We had a nice leisurely meal and it was delicious. My friend ordered the baby arugula salad and loved the citrus notes in the dressing. I had the ravioli in a heirloom tomato sauce which was very tasty. I also had the salmon entree. Excellent! The skin was crispy and the fish cooked to perfect medium. My friend had the steak with potatoes and vegetables. She enjoyed it very much. We both had the fresh melon and lemon sorbet dessert and it proved to be the perfect palate cleanser. Very refreshing. Next time I am in town I will be going to Aureole."

  • "This is the perfect spot for pre theater dinner. The food is outstanding and the theaters are just around the corner. Service and execution were excellent as well."

  • "Restaurant is a good selection for a casual business lunch in Times Square, although the tables are very close together. Service was very efficient. Food was good."

  • "Have been a regular guest at Aureole...this recent experience was not up to par. While the food was its usual 5 star, Service in the main dining room was extremely poor with long waits and no one to check in on us."

  • "very good service, good location if attending the theatre, good ambience and vibe. The negative would be the price vs. amount of food. We live in NY and dine out a lot - not looking for a plate full of food, but my husband ordered the pork chop and recvd one small bone of which they carved out 2 small slices of meat. By the time he took the fat off - there was almost nothing to eat. The bill was over $200 with one glass of wine. My husband was starving and ready to hit Porter House for some sliders. Now that is a restaurant that gets it right."

  • "We had been to Aureole a number of times before while it was in its old location and decided to go try it in its new place for lunch as we were in town. The food and service were excellent as before, the larger restaurant very impressive in a more formal sort of way. We enjoyed it very much, although I must admit, the old layout in a townhouse had a friendlier character."

  • "This restaurant served excellent food with outstanding service. Wait staff was very careful about the time and we made the theater with ease. It is a great find."

  • "We opted for the Liberty Room with the ala carte menu. The room is so noisey from the active bar scene you couldn`t hear the waiter. The supposedly more casual menu was anything but. After ordering at 6:15, (Pre-theater), the first course came 20 minutes later and the main course came out at 7:25. All 6 meals were cold. 5 out of 6 meals were not that good for the price paid. Steaks very small, duck for 2 was not tasty at all. Cheeseburger was mediocre. (It was so cold that the cheese shrunk back to the original size after it had melted). The chicken was excellent but cold. Fries were good. Of course, we had to gobble some of the dinner to make our show."

  • "Everything was really great. The good was amazing and had a bottle of Turley Zin that was $110. When I got the bill it showed it at $155. Correction made and moved on. No other Turley win was even close to that price."

  • "chef's tasting menu was amazing. get it with the wine pairing. amazing food and wines. foie gras was one of the best i've ever tasted."

  • "Surprised there were few gluten free options for celiacs. They would make substitutions or alter some dishes, but at these prices my choices were very limited. Other top restaurants in the City offer better alternatives for gluten free meals. Aureole needs to address this issue."

  • "I and my wife are celebrating 15 years of wedding in this night. We made a special choice. Everything are perfect. And in the ending of our dinner, we received at table a dessert wit a special congratulations. Last year we celebrate in Le Bernardin, this year we celebrate in Aureole. Both are perfect."

  • "A wonderfully intimate dining experience! Chef Lo should be commended for exciting combinations of flavors, beautiful colors and the freshest meats and fishes I've ever had! And the desserts (we ordered five), each 'out of this world'! Impeccable service and lovely ambiance! Thank you!!"

  • "The gracious Somalier , adorable waitress and magnificent food make for a memorable dining experience . Every Captain stops by the table to ask if everything is to your satisfaction. A truly great evening !"

  • "Had a wonderful dinner at Aureole's! Excellent service and great food! Only thing to remember is a sweater/jacket as it gets cold sitting close to the air con. (this might just be an issue for people not being used to the air con and really this is the case in all restaurants in US) Also the tables are a bit close (not great is you want a private conversation)"

  • "We spent Mothers day at the restaurant and it was spectacular as always. Food, Service, Décor - the restaurant has it all."

  • "Loved the french service and extra treats! Wine listing pricing is on the high side not many moderate priced bottles but opt for a special bottle for our special occassion. Food was lusious, limited selectins but enjoyed every bite. Little touches is what make this dining experience special. Will return next trip to NYC"

  • "The more formal restaurant in back is a quiet oasis. The food, the service and the ambiance deserve those stars, if not the excruciating bill. The front is noisy, crowded with over-confident after-work suits and skirts. "

  • "Dinner was a treat of sophisticated tastes and aromas. Great effort obviously went into preparing each dish and it was worth it. The 3 course prix fixe offered inviting choices and all three courses stood on their own The lobster minestrone, for example, was perhaps the best soup I have tasted! If that were the meal, I would have been satisfied. I am glad I also had the Roasted Wagyu Beef and the Meyer Lemon Parfait. They, too, were among the best dishes I've had. Aureole really lives up to its reputation. It is a dining must."

  • "Arrived early for a 1 pm lunch reservation, and table in dining room was not available, so we were offered a table in the front bar room. It's a nice space, but we were seated very close to a large pillar. Food was very good - we had tuna salad, stuffed calamari, and salmon entrees. Unfortunately, service was abysmal. We asked for extra butter THREE times before it arrived at our table. We had to remind the waiter that we ordered fries when they did not arrive with our entrees. We had to request mayonnaise FOUR times - twice from server, once from hostess, and once from manager before it was finally delivered to us. We walked in a few weeks ago and dined at bar with no reservation, and we had much better service when seated at the bar."

  • "My wife and I were staying at the Hyatt Time Square and looking for a romantic dinner, and are happy to say Aureole did not disappoint. It was a very nice change from the hustle of Time Square, and a wonderful way to spend a few hours over an amazing dinner. Food, wine and service were all extraordinary and I'd highly recommend Aureole."

  • "We cancelled our reservation at 11:12am one half hour or so after we made it . But first OpenTable sent emails that said we missed our reservation and now they ask for a review. open Table fouled up another reservation this weekend. ????? V"

  • "Celebrated my husband's birthday @ Aureole. They did a great job with the Chef's Selection of 7 courses with wine pairings. Very memorable evening."

  • "When I confirmed my reservation, I was surprised to learn the main dining room serves only prix fix, however, when I checked the tasting menu, the selections were so spot on to what I would have ordered - so I was happy to confirm. When we arrived, we saw the first course had been changed, but the extremely pleasant and accommodating server allowed us to switch it to another dish. The dinner was incredible. Highlights were the fois gras and the black cod as well as the amazing chocolate ganache cake with espresso ice cream. The flavors were well balanced with dishes having elements of sweet, salty, creamy, crunchy...even the palate cleanser was delicious. Service was quick, friendly, unpretentious, right on point. Can't wait to return!"

  • "Aureole is a Michelin starred restaurant, and the food certainly reflects that. It's a popular restaurant and even on a weekday night it was very busy. Since the dining room is relatively small it can be somewhat noisy, especially if your table is near the bar area. So, try to get one in the back. Service was up to par with other high end restaurants, but not superior. Overall a restaurant fit for a special occasion and romance, but not the most romantic you can find in town. "

  • "Perfect food and great service. If seeing a show in New York and want dinner before or after this place is just the ticket. Was there with my bride Friday night. Not cheap but excellent value all the same. This is a place were every one is striving for and in most instances attaining perfection both the front of the house and the kitchen cares and it shows."

  • "Took my wife there for pre-theatre on our anniversary. Food and service were excellent-- we had the black cod and wagyu tenderloin -- and both were excellent. We tried two of the specialty drinks too -- and they were terrific. The service was very attentive and crisp in execution. Really made for a fine memorable evening out."
