For this evening it should be a zero- service was dreadful - arrived at 6:00 but at 7:30 we hadn’t received our entrees yet - had to leave for theater- delayed drink service (bar overwhelmed per waitress as well as kitchen) all tables around us that arrived after us were served - we will try elsewhere. Note that Charlie Palmer advertises as the ideal pre theatre experience- missed the mark by a wide margin,

The food was delicious. I might say that the steak at Peter Luger's is a bit better, but they clearly know how to grill up porterhouse here. Service was random. The head of the front of the house was really great; he was on top of things, could tell when we were anxious about the time, stepped in when our waiter didn't, and was super helpful. Our actual waiter we didn't see very much; he sort of popped in occasionally to ask if we got our appetizer (like, after we finished our mains); he was mansplaining what gnocchi was to the table to the left of us (the diner asked "is this gnocchi?") and then made an offhand comment, "Oh man, I wish I was rich"; and got into a strangely heated discussion with the woman to the right of us when she asked which receipt she needed to sign (he went on to talk about how they bill hotel patrons differently, and she was like, "Okay, I'm not staying here... What do you need me to do?"). I'm hoping it was just an off night for our waiter. Oh, we also got a different table's check when we were about to leave. Luckily, the head waiter fixed that promptly. So, yeah, head waiter, clearly experienced and great with customers; the actual waiter put up the most comically incompetent displays of how to treat customers that I've ever seen.

Waiter brought wrong food Wrong drinks , extremely slow service and the food. Well they called it gnocchi’s but it was just pasta shells. They even charged me for the 3 wrong drinks they brought me. Extremely disappointing! Will not be returning anytime soon.

Not very happy about the service in the steak house to be honest. Waited 5 mins at the podium until someone came and was confused why I was there. I asked if I seat myself and he kind of just waved me to a table. I left since I thought it was the sushi place and came back when I found the sushi was closed. When I came back, I was sat right away but I waited 20 mins at my table and nobody came until I stood up and asked the hostess if there was a server. There were 4 people standing behind the bar at this point. 5 mins passed and the server finally came by. Food was good but the male bartenders are awful at customer service.

Cesare salad from the lunch prox fix menu was served on an ice cold plate, indicating that the salad was made in advance and then stored in the fridge. It was fine, but less than ideal. Steak frites aux poivre sauce and fries were too salty. Host was not at the stand when we arrived. Table side server was excellent and attentive.

The food and service were excellent. We got the Roundabout Theater pre-theater Prix Fix and it was a good bargain for delicious food.
