"
The restaurant was perhaps 30% full when we were seated. It took 15 minutes before anyone waited on us - and the overall service never really improved the entire night. Wine list not being kept current, they did not have the first 2 wines I ordered. Food was poor. I had a beef short rib "special" that was so tough and overcooked, it would be an insult to shoes to call it the consistency of shoe leather. I will not return to this restaurant.

Without question one of the very best restaurants in Ft Bend County. The food is generally outstanding ... although the deserts could use a little work . Aura would not be out of place in New York or LA and is well worth seeking out.

Chef Perrier consistently delivers fantastic food. The pig trotters with poached egg were very tasty with the hint of mustard sauce. Monk fish with a slice of crispy ham and melting leeks was a wonderful combination of sweet and salty. The Pears Helene was just the perfect ending to the meal. A beautiful fan of poached pear laid out with the rich chocolate sauce and ice cream was heavenly.

We had a wonderful time at Aura. One reason is you can hear the conversation at your table without yelling. The food and service were very good. I think the desserts could be improved, but salads, appetizers, main dishes are very good. My husband loves the filet, but orders extra mashed potatoes because they go a little light. I wasn't wild about the apple tart I had for dessert, but my fish was perfectly cooked.

This was our first visit, but will not be our last. We ordered salad and crab cakes for appetizers. Both were very good and portion size was perfect - not too much. My wife ordered the pork tenderloin and I ordered the walleye perch. The tenderloin was cooked perfectly, was tender and had great flavor. The mac and cheese in truffle oil was a good compliment to the entree as were the snap peas. My perch was cooked perfectly, but my grilled vegetables seemed a little overcooked, but tasted good. For desert, my wife had the molten chocolate cake. It seems a little over done, or maybe she is just used to the way I cook mine... I had a desert comprised of 4 small eclairs stuffed with ice cream and topped with a dark chocolate. Excellent!

This was my first visit. I live in a rural setting, but am a foodie and love to find new places to explore that do not involve fighting Houston traffic. This little bistro is charming and has a French inspired feel to it and yet is very pleasing to American taste buds. They have a very nice wine list and I especially appreciated nice choices by the glass, as I was the only wine drinker at the table so a bottle was not an option. I loved the smoked salmon and potato pancake starter. My only complaint was the screaming toddler at the table next to us, which was not the fault of the restaurant. I will definitely add this little place to my list of local favorites.
