Diner Reviews
  • "Our server Alex was phenomenal and the food was amazing. We would highly recommend this restaurant!"

  • "Our food was just delightful, creatively prepared and presented. The music being played over the speaker system seemed a bit disconnected from what I would have expected in a finer dining restaurant. It was more fitting for a sports bar perhaps. Service was good but not great, though the staff was friendly."

  • "Our search for excellent food, ambiance AND a restaurant to accommodate the tastes our family (2 Vegans and 2 Meat Eaters), ended when we dined at Aura. The service was impeccable and the manager, Stephanie, visited all the tables to make sure everything was to their liking while the chef came out to carve his special salt beets at our table. The Steak Tartare, Gnochi and fish were fabulous AND the Vegans were delighted to have a HEARTY and tasteful selection of English Pea Soup, Kale Chia Salad and Vegan Raviolis. We all ended with the homemade sorbets!"

  • "When I ordered the server noted the portion of my meal was going to be small. OK - so I then ordered a side dish as I was hungry. But when the meal came the entree was crazy small. So watch out for very small portions"

  • "The choice to have Aura's five course dinner was the best decision. This way, we could try many flavors. Every dish topped the next and I didn't want to stop tasting. The gnocchi was my absolute favorite. Multidimensional flavors, complemented each other. Superb. Hands down, the best meal I've ever had. Thank you for making our dining experience unforgettable."

  • "We visited this location because of the deal $30 for 3 course which most of us choose to get. The food was flavorful and very nicely plated. Service was a bit slower (we spent 2.5hrs eating). It might be because of our large group (7 people). I did like the fact that the had several servers come out with all our food at the same time. It was a nice touch. My fiancee didn't want dessert so he opt out of the 3 for $30 deal and got a appetizer and and a regular size steak (6oz) instead. We quickly found out that the appetizers were the same size and the entrees were slightly smaller. Unfortunately it seemed that he had chosen to pay an additional $12 more for 2oz steak and no dessert."

  • "When did restaurants stop viewing Valentines day as a time to go over the top and really create a special atmosphere for their guests. Instead they now use it as an excuse to jack up their prices and mass produce average food. Our bill with tip for 2 people was $330!! We have been to every restaurant in Whistler on numerous occasions. Aura was last on our list and we were very excited to eat there. We were hoping to order off the regular menu but were told we must choose from the set menu. ( the table beside us was eating off the regular menu??) ....cont"

  • "Food is good, but a notch below the standard of some similarly priced Whistler restaurants. The wine list is short and unimaginative, and our waiters knowledge of the short wine list appeared to be lacking. For my tastes some work on the wine list would go a long way. Service was attentive, and the cocktails were tasty. Good atmosphere, we had a lovely dinner with the family."

  • "The meal I had was average at best. Not worth hitting up if you have limited time in Whistler."

  • "My husband and I took advantage of the amazing special offered during the month of February and amazing it was! The service was excellent and the food beautifully and creatively presented, impeccably prepared using the highest quality ingredients and delicious. Many thanks to the good people at Nita Lake Lodge and The Aura Restaurant. You're doing it right and we appreciate it."

  • "We came here as we were looking for a well-priced fine dining experience in Whistler. We were staying in creekside, so figured this was a walkable option. As we arrived, we were informed that it was a busy night, though later found out that the restaurant wasn't actually full. I imagine that this season had been low and the particular evening we attended was uncharacteristically busy. Overall the food and flavours were great, but the execution was not fantastic (8/10 for execution), and that's where the meal faltered. If we had paid closer to fine dining prices (~$40 per main) we'd have been upset, but I think since it was not, we were quite satisfied. Nice beer selection and decent cocktails."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Aura recently and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, food selection, drinks, and overall dining. Our only disappointment was the extremely slow service. On several occasions throughout our 2.5 hour stay we waited for 10+ minutes while watching the servers chat away with other tables. And, while we appreciated the privacy, it got a little silly that we had to wait, for example, for almost 15 minutes for our bill to be brought to us. But, I don't want to harp too much on that as the food (I had the delicious short rib mac n cheese for an appie followed by the scallops and then the mouth watering brownie for dessert) and atmosphere were outstanding."

  • "This is a nice alternative to eating in Whistler Village. It is an expensive restaurant with excellent food and wonderful ambiance."

  • "Very good food .... service was a little slow but friendly and efficient. Family enjoyed it, for me the restaurant was a bit noisy.... might have something to do with the space itself. Would certainly go back and would recommend to a friend."

  • "We used open table to find the Aura on a free evening when we didn't think anything would be available. Aura exceeded our expectations in all ways but especially the food and service. Highly recommend."

  • "If you love interesting different food that is completely delicious go to this restaurant. They were completely prepared for gluten free preferences and went out of their way to ensure everyone needs were taken care of."

  • "We had a reservation this past Saturday. Arrived and 2/3 of the restaurant was empty. When we asked for a different table near the window the host said "it would be a few minutes." Two such tables were visibly empty and fully set up so this was odd. Food was good. My lamb confit was exceptionally flavorful. My wife's bison was also very good. More on the service - we ordered another glass of wine with dinner. it didn't arrive until after we had finished our mains (20+ minutes). Staff seemed quite disorganized - walking rapidly around, looking stressed, talking in hushed tones with the guy who appeared to be the front of house manager. This same manager bought us after dinner drinks to make up which was a good recovery."

  • "Attentive service, beautiful lake view, delicious food, this restaurant is a step above the touristy places in the village. The three course menu gives you a variety of food to taste. The chili chocolate cake was unique. Worth the short drive there."
