  • "We have been there many times before so we knew the food would be awesome. We needed a place for Easter Brunch and it was amazing. Even during a busy time the staff was on it and attentive. The food was amazing as always. Can't wait to go back. "

  • "We had a great meal with our 2 boys, ages 14 and 11. We will come back! "

  • "Rude waiter! He seemed like we were a bother. He raised his eyebrows and did a head-tilt thing to indicate he was ready to take our order. As oppose to saying anything along the lines of "may I take your order." We asked to hear about the business lunch special. He brought the chalk board over with the specials and left it by our table. Other waiters would read the menu to their table, we did not get that same courtesy. Lamb sliders were overcooked. When we brought it to the hostess' attention (since our waiter was nowhere to be found), the waiter came over and told us even if they re-fired it we "would not see pink in the middle because lamb meat is not pink.""

  • "We loved it. I love the classic French ideas behind every dish."

  • "Food was not as good as I have experienced in past visits. Probably just an off night."

  • "This restaurant had been highly recommended by someone in the neighborhood, so my wife and I had one night in Sugar Land and chose to go there. Ordered civiche for appetizer and it was warm and uneatable. Server took it back and did not charge. Then ordered the lemon sole for entree. It was very raw. Had it been turned over and cooked for another minute, it would have been fine. Some people seem to love the place as it was full. It was far too noisy for me. I don't plan on returning. Too many other good restaurants in the area."

  • "This was my first time at Aura Brasserie. I was meeting a friend for lunch and we were in no rush. The server took great care of us, never rushed us, and even offered to charge my friend's phone when her battery died. Great wine, food and service!"

  • "Overall food was fair. We had the flounder dish and chicken sandwich and both were okay. We did enjoy the bread even though it was cold but the spread was good. Apparently the bread is never warm bc we saw other customers asking to heat the bread. The waiter did not do a good job at all. He had a flat affect and didn't seem like he enjoyed doing his job."

  • "Looking for a change from the typical upscale steakhouse scene? Aura's brasserie has a casual & eclectic ambience with enough noise to keep you awake but not enough that you can't hear conversation at your table. For appetizers, the chicken liver pâté was smooth but not overpowering. My wife and daughter loved the lobster bisque to the point they wanted to lick the bowl! The wedge salad and caesar salad were good. My family was in a fishy mood that night and my wife and daughter both had the Brooke Trout and I had the Lemon Sole. The presentation was very eye appealing but of course we were hungry, not looking for art. We were not disappointed! Our waiter was good and our orders were perfect but service was a little slow. We will go back!"

  • "Been here before, and it was better last time. Food was way overpriced and the portions were small. They were out of 3-4 of the dessert options that night. Waiter didn't know the menu well."

  • "This was our first visit. We heard the food was spectacular and it was! We enjoyed our experience very much. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "It was an evening out. Restaurant was a little noisy. Price was reasonable. Service okay."

  • "Overall, great atmosphere and great service. Our meal was enjoyable and priced nicely. I thought the server's presentation of the specials and dessert was a bit distracting."

  • "What can we say? If you like you food perfect, as promised, look no further. If you want to treat yourself to a one of a kind meal, Aura is it! The owners are almost always (99%) there and working non stop. The fish is always cooked like it just leaped out of the Gulf, the pesto crusted lamb chops over goat cheese polenta (need no sauce or mint jellies), four of them are more than satisfying, The little surprises like lobster cakes hidden below the surface of the deep dish corn poblano soup bowl, pork cheeks paired with crispy shrimp, will keep us coming back....oh did I mention the melt in your mouth Cocoa Dusted Breast of Pheasant with Foie Gras, Prunes and Armagnac Sauce. All in all a great anniversary/valentine dinner. Thanks."

  • "One of the top restaurants in Sugar Land. Innovative menu and superior service."

  • "The food was heavy. The onion soup was too sweet. The grapefruit ceviche was awesome. The steak was pricey and not very good. The blackberry cobbler was nice. The exterior door opens into the restaurant so the winds blows in a lot. We drank cocktails and beer, The wine glasses were on the table when we were seated, and remained there until we left. The service was not too good. I wouldn't recommend this place."

  • "While there was no complaint about the food, we were disappointed not to find the excellent flatbread and corn muffins we recall from the old Aura. Also the Chefs Pate plate was a bit abreviated from what we had come to expect."

  • "Great food, great service, reasonable price. A little bit noisy so not suitable for Romantics. We will most definitely return. A sure sign of a great restaurant is when the owner/chef comes out to greet the clientele."

  • "Aura is a favorite of ours; the food is well-prepared, from fresh ingredients, with tempting presentation. It has a certain European atmosphere, but with added American touches, such as servers who have been trained to be charming as well as efficient. The customer is always right at Aura Brasserie."

  • "My wife and I had a wonderful New Year's Eve dinner at Auras. Selection from 4 course menu was extensive - loved the lobster bisque! Wife had scallops and i had Chilean sea bass - both very good. She finished with creme brûlée and i had the blackberry cobbler (one of my favorite desserts and well done). Good wine list and reasonably priced. First time at this location - would certainly recommend and go again."

  • "Went there for NYE dinner. They had a pre-fixe menu with a set price of $85 per person. I made a reservation never having been there before but it was convenient to where we were staying and knowing that many restaurants book solid during prime time on NYE. Not sure what to expect, but, while the food was ok and the service was ok, it was no where near worth the $240 (two people) I paid with tax and gratuity. I don't think I'll be back. Lots of other places to choose from that are walking distance from here."

  • "We went for lunch on Black Friday. They were great giving directions and holding our reservation when we were late. The prices are reasonable. The menu is limited but good. I liked the lobster bisque."

  • "I have been here several times and have always gotten their pre fixe menu. Frederic is extremely talented and should really have a location in the Montrose area. His skill level is just as good or even better than all the best restaurants in Houston. HIs wife, Michelle, is what I would call "the lady of the front of the house." She is super friendly and goes around to all the tables and talk with the customers. This is how one create a loyal customer base. If you haven't tried Aura, you really ought to!"

  • "We wanted a special place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Aura was the perfect choice. Restaurant is small enough to be charming and the food was terrific. On a whole our evening was a big sucess. We will definitely be back. Loved the french music playing and the beautiful plates/bowls on the wall. My only complaint is that our candle on the table wasn't lit. Really no big deal. So pleased to have a place like this in Sugar Land!"

  • "I Loved Aura in its old location and this was our first visit in new digs. Was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews, but we had a GREAT dinner. I LOVED my fois gras, cooked to perfection in a whimsical combo with a creme brûlée offering (unusual, but wow!). My husband's entree was killer! He had pork shoulder, it was soo flavorful & cooked to perfection, no need for a knife, lovely bite sized pieces just jumped onto his fork. He had an appetizer with a big ravioli that he devoured so quickly I didn't get a chance to taste it. He assured me, between mouthfuls that it was delicious....gone before I could sneak my fork in. I prefer my French restaurants to feel more "French". This definitely feels like TownCenter, SugarLand"

  • "Service is outstanding. Starting with Christina as the hostess to mike as our server. Food is impeccable and drinks are well price. The lunch set menus are a steel. Don't order expresso if you are close to a coffe shop. It will cost us 3x. Still cannot figure that one."

  • "I called to let them know our party was running a little late, Miguel (?) had the right answer "no problem". It was nice to know that they would hold our reservation on a Saturday night. Hostess was very nice and welcoming. The menu is not extensive but sufficient for a variety of palates.. The calamari was very good, tender, not tough, lightly fried. Our party had the filet, the scallops and the trio (seafood mix). Every entree was very good, cooked appropriately and well presented !"

  • "I was there couple of weeks ago for my girlfriend birthday. We enjoyed our dinner. One thing i was disappointed ...they brought me wrong meat. I ordered Ribeyed with fries. They brought me Filet migon. But overall, it was a nice place and great food."

  • "After enjoying fabulous dinners several times, we thought we'd try Aura's new Brunch! Good move! The Lobster Bisque was so tasty and rich and the Eggs Benedict Scandanaive on potato pancakes were to die for. The Hollandaise was just lemony enough, not too overpowering. And a nice surprise: $3 glasses of Mimosas...now that's a deal."

  • "We were so much looking forward to a nice dinner on this evening after a very busy day. Wine list was just okay, crab begniets were good for the appetizer. I ordered Sea Bass expecting the beautiful, white, buttery Chilean variety , but what came was thin, still skinned, overdone, and muddy tasting. I could not eat it. I realize this was partly my mistake for not checking with the waiter, but also feel the restaurant was misleading by not advertising the type of sea bass on the menu. I would have asked for an explanation had I seen an unfamiliar name. My husband's tournedos of beef and pork were dry and over cooked for medium. The crusts on the berry cobbler were doughy and undercooked. We will not return."
