Diner Reviews
  • "This was my second time visiting this restaurant. The first time I attended a buffet that was pretty good. This time my wife, daughter and I had dinner. I ordered a 6 ounce filet that was cooked properly and was very good. In my opinion the price was a little high for what I got. The service was ok but not 5 star. I would recomend the reseraunt for a decent steak and great ambiance but I was not overly impressed for what the dinner cost."

  • "In all fairness, I have dined here several times and the food is usually excellent so this review is based on my personal palate for one dinner. We had the 3-course summer meal special. It was a great value compared to their regular prices. You get a choice between 2 salads (and only two), a choice between 3 entries (limited choice offered) and a choice between 2 desserts (key lime pie which they were out and lemon sorbet which we had). All in all, I enjoyed my blackened tilapia but my son thought his brisket was just okay. Not a big since this is the first time in five years we had a dish we weren't crazy about. We will return whenever we can. Service is outstanding as usual."

  • "The first time we went to Augustinos over the weekend was on Friday evening. We had just missed the cutoff for certain menu items but I ordered the BLT and the waitress said "no problem." Everyone else got their food and when I eventually decided to ask about it, she said that it was past the time to order that menu item. So thanks for the heads up. Second time was Sunday morning for brunch and I had made reservations on open table prior. When we arrived we were informed that they were completely booked and they do not honor open table reservations. We stayed anyways and waited about 30 minutes for a table. Throughout the meal we proceeded to get up and pour our own water 3 different times. Surprisingly, the good actually tasted great. "

  • "We had four in our party. Three ordered from the menu and 1 opted for the pasta bar. Our waitress was attentive and gave great service. She recommended that the person getting the salad bar get in line because the other food was coming out shortly. Unfortunately, the line was long and most of our food was gone, by the time she got back to the table. The next day, two of our party returned for lunch. The same person opted for the pasta bar. This time she got in line in time and actually had her food before the other party got his. Apparently, their ticket was "lost" so it took some time for him to get his meal. If you are on a limited lunch hour, you may not want to go here. But the food and ambience are excellent if you have time."

  • "Lovely resturant. I took for boyfriend here for his birthday dinner, because this is his favorite resturant, but on this specific night the dining experience was not so enjoyable. I have never been before so I was not quiet sure what to expect. It was Masters week in Augusta, but that aside our service was slack the menu had been changed for masters week and it was very loud could not enjoy our evening because we could not hear each other talking. I hope if we do decide to go again our experience will be much better."

  • "The manager visited the table to say thank you and struck up a conversation. However, i am not sure who my server was, as i had 4 people visit my table over dinner. I was the only person in the restaurant as the closing time was the time i made my reservation. The items i ordered were not what i received, but, adequate none the less. Perhaps the service was due to the closing of the restaurant."

  • "I went on a Valetine's Date and I made reservations online. The restaurant was very peaceful and enjoyable. The host and waiters are very friendly and helpful. The Alfredo taste delicious and I also had a salad which was extremely small. The prices are reasonable and it's worth it."

  • "Michael was our waiter and he was on his game! We did not want for anything. He always checked up on us and when we did need something, he brought it right away. The manager came to greet and thank us for coming to the restaurant too. Everyone was friendly. Definitely will go back."

  • "After driving all day we didn't want to have to go out and look for a restaurant. Fortunately, the Marriott we selected has one of their finer restaurants.. The place was deserted when we went in for a late meal, but that didn't stop their team from providing us with an excellent dining experience. My wife had a chicken dish that was tender and perfectly cooked and I had the veal Marsala. Both were superb. Coupled with a unique Brussels sprouts and wilted spinach and a fine bottle of wine. It put a nice finish on a long day."

  • "We are new to the area and have found only one restaurant that has really wow'd us. Unfortunately this isn't it! Augustino's has a spectacular wine list, the food is medicore at best. There's really not much else to say about the food. The service was medicore at best, we tend to leave around 50% tips as we know how this industry operates. We left a $100 tip and our server never even came over to thank us, I can only assume that $100 tips are normal for the restaurant. I would recommend this reataurant for the wine list and I would say get the steak as I'd like to think that even with a medicore steak and exceptional bottle of wine will make the most of it, as for the service they are kind but certainly don't reflect the exceptional wine."

  • "GREAT EXPERIENCE! I made the reservation on line with a special request for coffee on the table when we arrived & it was there! One employee made the dining experience "over the top" , Alberto! He was fantastic! I believe he is the floor manager in the restaurant. WOW! Great customer skills & he even took our picture in the lobby at our request! Augustinos is blessed to have Alberto, he made the dining very special!"

  • "We were in town for the half Ironman and pleasantly surprised by the pasta bar...perfect for the athletes! Our service was excellent. I had the lasagna off the menu and it was a large, delicious portion. Staff was extremely friendly...would definitely go back!"

  • "Although the cooking was competent, there wasn't anything that made it special. Portion sizes were way too large, my biggest pet peeve with restaurants these days, and each course could have easily fed two. The Tiramisu was basically a pile of mascarpone on top of some lady fingers that was sprinkled with cocoa. If it had been made with any espresso, it was hardly evident. I suggest that the pastry chef find a copy of Jeff Smith's "The Frugal Gourmet Cooks Italian" for a much better rendition. It was a very quiet evening at the restaurant (hardly any diners), so our server was able to be attentive. Can't say that we were impressed enough to go back again. The restaurant atmosphere was typical of a large hotel, i.e. corporate looking."

  • "Our group loved the private room which gave us the privacy to talk about business. The dinners and service were wonderful and the desserts were yummy. We booked through Open Table and are so happy we did. We will go back when we return to Augusta."

  • "This was the first time my wife and I tried Augustino's. We were both well pleased with the polite, prompt service and the fine food. The food was well prepared and presented. Our server kept the dinner experience moving at a comfortable pace, removing dishes, filling glasses, serving food; we didn't feel rushed nor did we have to wait. Pleasant and relaxed dining. I had the "Shrimp and Italian Grits". A very pleasant twist to a southern staple - shrimp and grits. The "Lobster and Artichoke Fonduto" was very good as an appetizer. We dined around 5:30 in the early evening."

  • "We have dined at Augustino's many times. The food is good even if the entrees are a bit expensive. Everything is a la carte and wine by the glass is really high. We love the portobella mushroom appetizer, the martini salad, the salmon, and the pasta. This place could use a bit more ambiance but it isn't bad. Make a reservation. Park by Morris Museum across the traffic circle."

  • "This place is an underrated gem in the Augusta food scene. I had their veal and it was fantastic! My husband had a ribeye, which he said tasted amazing. We are known to be spoiled when it comes to good food, and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere is low key luxury, and the restaurant is not obsessed with being "southern" (which is a rare find in the area!). Overall it was a great experience that we plan on repeating."

  • "We have been dining at this restaurant for a couple of years but this was the first time with the "new" menu. We loved the Portobello Mushroom appetizer, the Martini Salad, and the flourless chocolate torte. My grilled salmon was also very nice and my spouse enjoyed his pasta. The service was great. We wish the restaurant had more booths for two instead of the less comfortable half booths and a bit more ambiance--dimmer lights and music at night."

  • "Food was ok, service was ok. For an Italian restaurant I was surprised that we had to ask for bread. Not a place I would necessarily recommend."

  • "Went to Augustino's to celebrate a family birthday. Have been there before and decided to give it a try again. The food was prepared well with steaks coming out as ordered. That said, the quality of beef used appeared to be "choice" at best and little natural flavor. The Martini salad was very nice presentation and has a great taste. The wild mushroom risotto was below average. The wine list was very limited and considerably smaller than I remember. The service was superb, attentive and friendly."

  • "I made a lunch reservation because I was part of a large group attending a conference at the Convention Center. My group of 4 arrived a few minutes early and were seated within a few minutes. We had the option to order off the menu or select the lunch buffet. Two of us ordered off the menu and two of us opted for the buffet. Food came out quickly and was very good. I had the minestrone soup and the Italian Shrimp & Grits. I liked the shrimp & grits but the presentation (bowl) made it difficult to handle the shrimp (to cut off the tail to eat). I had to have Tiramisu for dessert and it was fabulous. The atmosphere was relaxing despite the lunch rush. I would definitely dine here again when coming to Augusta."

  • "My husband and I both had the ribeye; each cooked to perfection. I had the beet salad and my husband had the calamari: both excellent. The portions are large. It's a sophisticated location, yet the acceptable dress ranges from dressy casual to elegant. The server, Elizabeth, was careful to time the courses so that we were able to enjoy each at our leisure. I ordered a special martini to my taste, not a menu item, and it was perfect. The cost is rather pricey; however, it is wonderful to know that there is a place in town where you can dress up. So many places are too casual for really nice evenings out."

  • "My husband and I go here for quiet dinners. Most restaurants in town have too much noise, school cafeteria volume groups, birthday whooping, or just loud music which is all fine if you are in a hurry or party mood. After a busy week we seek the peace. Our blood pressure drops at Augustino's."
