Augustine Grille at Sawgrass Marriott reviews from OpenTable diners
  • Very good food but overpriced

The food was very good to excellent but there is absolutely nothing special about the ambience, views, etc. The service was good but not nearly to the same level as you get at Morton's, Ruth's Chris, Fleming's, or other restaurants in this price category. Based upon the combination of food, ambience, and service ... in my opinion, the Augustine Grill is significantly overpriced. I would recommend this restaurant be considered strictly for 'special occasions'.

For a hotel restuarant, this was outstanding. The venue obviously is fantastic to begin with, but Augustine Grill heads the list of resort amenities other than golf of course. Food was excellent, while expensive as ecpected, service impeccable and decor warm and inviting. Don't miss before you pass.

I had the Black Grouper and my spouse had the NY Strip (I think that was the cut). The Black Grouper was beautifully prepared. It was firm, but not dried out on the outside; moist and tender on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The steak was amazing. I don't know if it was aged, but it was beautifully seasoned and prepared. I haven't had a steak this good since Morton's closed. I'm definitely ordering steak when I return. Also had the Farm Tomatoes and Romaine salad. Both also excellent. Drinks are very tasty -I got something called the Tea-Off (vodka & iced tea): YUM!!! Desserts are nothing to write home about.

We were so disappointed. It was a very special occasion and they seated us right next to the front door. Our servers were rushed and inattentive. Some of the worst service I've ever had in a restaurant. It really put a damper on what should have been a special night. This is a very expensive place to eat and when you make an investment like that, you hope it will be a special experience. It was not. The food was delicious, though. I love that it's locally sourced. I wish we had had a better experience. This is in our backyard and we would probably have become regulars had the service been better. If you decide to go here, ask to sit in the back of the restaurant, the ambience seemed nicer back there.

Very comfortable and cozy setting with pictures of some of the most famous golf holes in the world. Definitely a fine dining menu and prices but with Florida casual attire. Dress slacks, shirt and sweater or even a suit fits the bill for this special occasion night out. The chef sent out a nice appetizer that was fabulous as was the entire dinner. The seafood was cooked to perfection as was the rib eye steak. The service was top notch. Again, a great quiet, comfortable and fine dining like restaurant in a relaxed dress atmosphere. The prices are little pricey for this area but you'll enjoy the evening

We had a wonderful Valentines Day experience. We made reservations and got a great comfortable seat. The service was flawless. The 4-course meal was very well prepared (steak, lobster, etc). And The Lady received a complimentary rose. I definitely recommend it.

My first visit to this restaurant after many years of meaning to try this highly regarded spot. The overall experience was disappointing. While the food was generally good, the look and feel of the restaurant was old and worn, the service staff was average at best leaving me underwhelmed given the prices I was charged. These folks have some work to claim their old stellar reputation.

kelly our server was excellant, the meal was also. Two negative items:one, the hostess failed to read our special request,a certain table, she admitted she had just seated a couple there before we arrived. She then said pick a table,we did and she didn't like our choice, too bad we sat there anyway. The manager and servers wore very casual clothes, unlike the past. The guests were in suits and jackets. You have to ask why use opentable weeks in advance when the staff could care less about your request?

The sea bass was recommended by the waiter. Quality was dissappointing. Either over-cooked or frozen, or both. Sea Bass is frozen at sea and then refreshed and sold fresh on shore. This product I suspect was re-froze and hence the poor quality. Roasted chicken was over cooked and dry as well. The lobster appetizer was excellent and the dessert was good too. Service was very friendly. Food quality needs to be higher and more consistent in order to achieve a high rating.

Very dissapointed on this trip. My wife and I have been here a few times before and always blown away with food and service, this time was not so good. They advertise dry aged 'Prime' beef, that is supposed to be hand cut. Well, my wife got a Strip Steak that was about 40% fat, not the nice well marbled fat you would expect with a 'Prime' cut, but the kind you cut off and set aside. Not typical for a "usually" leaner cut of meat. This should have never passed quality control from the chef. I had the Cowboy Ribeye that was ok at best. They now serve steaks with a top of green and red onion "for color" is what we were told & also a worcestershire butter sauce...together more suited for a hamburger than Prime Dry Aged Steak. Had menu said this

It is almost a tale of two different dining experiences! My wife and friend ordered the filet and it was seasoned nicely but overcooked. ( both order med rare came med+). Our other friend order shrimp and scallops and I order the cobia and the dishes were phenomenal! The desert trio was very good. The pork belly and cheese plate was great starter. The wine selection is extremely impressive and fair priced for a restaurant. The morale of the story..stick with the seafood and get a great bottle of wine or two!

The chef came out and chatted with us several times, explaining the dishes. They were able to oblige my dietary restrictions and create a fabulous meal. The focus on local seasonal foods, fish and meat makes for an exciting menu - figuring out who is going to try what so you can share with each other.
