Don't be fooled by the location, August Moon has food and service that you'd expect to find in Center City. Some of the best sushi we've had anywhere. Their specialty rolls in particular are inventive and well-executed. We tend to come here for the sushi, but other menu items that I've tried have been very good as well.

This was the second time I had eaten at this restaurant but a first for my husband. We made an early reservation to fit dinner in before a movie. We were seated promptly at a window table. We ordered the tempura appetizer, the korean pork gui (bar-b-que), and a shrek roll all to share. My husband also ordered a couple of pieces of sashimi. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and were quite full after finishing all that we ordered. Our favorite was the shrek roll. We would definitely return here.

For the second time in just over a month, we enjoyed a wonderful night out at August Moon. Recently renovated, August Moon has beautiful, spacious decor, attentive service and flat out terrific food. On both occasions we brought along out of town guests who raved about their menu selections. One actually took a picture of the restaurant exterior and teamed it with his cell phone GPS so he can refer others who travel in this area to August Moon. The sushi offerings are plentiful, fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. Appetizers are extremely varied, sometimes adventurous but always well prepared and full of flavor. Main dishes are beautifully presented, extremely generous and delicious. We can't say enough good things about August Moon.

I've been eating here since 2002, and I think they have the best bibimbap around Philly. Now that it's been remodeled, the restaurant has a nicer atmosphere, but I do find their prices a bit high, considering the location and type of food. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying for good food, but it just seems a bit out of scale considering it's Asian food and it's in Norristown. With that said, I would still go there because I like the food.

  • BEST SUSHI IN THE REGION
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 2/24/2012
We've been hearing about their sushi and decided to give them a shot (not knowing what to expect from a restaurant located in Norristown). We're big time sushi lovers and have been to many sushi restaurants including Osaka in Chestnut Hill & Bluefin (both our normal). This was by far the best sushi we've had! It was so fresh, portion big, & the flavors were so well put together! They also have a beer pairing list, which I've never seen in any Japanese restaurant before. I gave the beer a shot with the sushi and once again August Moon surprised me with yet another unique experience! Can't believe i used to pay big$ for mediocre sushi. Now I know why my friends keep telling me Bluefin is over-rated. Never again! August Moon is our new spot.

My first visit since the renovation and I though the choppy, stark white look had much less ambience than the previously more traditionally ethnic atmosphere. Sushi is still excellent, however the Korean BBQ tables are gone. The hot pot was well presented but somewhat bland for. $40. Would come back for sushi, but now that Bluefin has expanded, I'd probably choose there.

The dining room is much nicer after the renovation, and the food is just as good as before. They sushi is fresh and inventive (we had a Shrek roll with green seaweed and white fish - delicious), and the Korean fare is hearty and spicy. I think they have the best bibimbap around too. My only gripe is that the price is a bit high, but it's kind of worth it, since there are so few good restaurants in the Norristown area.

This was our second vist to August Moon. Consistency in food and service is very important in a restaurant and August Moon delivered. Having had a wonderful first experience we invited another couple to join us for dinner. Everything was very fresh and expertly prepared and served. We're looking forward to our next dinner there.

This was our first time at August Moon. It was difficult to pick a dinner selection given the huge variety on the menu. It will take us a long time to try everything that sounds great. We choose a stew for two which was served on a portable burner to keep the food hot. Fresh and delicious food good service and a relaxing atmosphere helped to make this an exciting dinner experience.
