  • One of our favorites in Miami Beach

We keep going back to Augello's every time we go to Miami Beach. We love the original retro details - the garden dining with the fountain makes you feel far from the craziness that exists on the other side of the wall, and of course, the food is delicious. We had a parmesan-crusted eggplant that was amazing. The service with friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I checked "Kid-friendly" as well as "Romantic" which seems contradictory, but it really is both.

HORRIBLE!! WALKED OUT!!Ive worked in the restaurant industry for 16 years, this could make me critical, but actually makes me VERY patient and understanding.I also used to dine at this restaurant when it was Wish and REALLY enjoyed it..We were sat at our table (we had reservations at 8:00pm)and LITERALLY sat there until 8:35 and NO ONE said one word to us, except to ask if anyone had been over(including the manager once), but then never did anything about it!! FINALLY a waiter looked like he was approaching us, but went to the table next to us, didn't say a WORD to us, and walked away. That was the final straw, we got up and left, without anyone noticing, and went for pizza down the street. Thanks for making Valentines Day so special!!GEEZ!

The service was confused - it wasn't clear who was serving at times, and the timing was off. They could definitely plan better in the future, particularly when they're not busy as was the case when we were there.

I came to this restaurant because my friend wants to check it out. Oh well. Here I go. I am not good at writing.. i will say... First of all. Staffs are working hard keep it up... but It is new restaurant. New concept. This place was used to be one of best restaurant in miami. ("Wish") and i think they get pressure from it ? And as we all know it is hard to find good server around Miami... My waiter was nice but enligh was ... Hum... I was lucky because my friend came from Italy... So we were able to enjoy our dinner. Okay ! Now the food. Food wow. Food was great.. Decoration were very pretty. Some of ingredients that they used make me surprised. I will come again... But I really do wish them good luck with staffing

Wish, the restaurant previously located at Augello's, was amazing. However, Augello's is a far cry from Wish (despite that the menus and door still say Wish). The food was fair but service attrocious. Granted this is an Italian restaurant, but the Italian waiter spoke little English and understood even less. He did not know how plates were prepared or what basic ingredients were in them (i.e. he stated that there was rice and meat in one but there was no meat; instead it was stuffed with an olive mixture). The waiter offered fresh pepper but returned with an old pepper shaker. The restaurant was empty (understandably) and yet the service was extraordinaly slow. When requesting Captain Morgan at the bar, the bartender tried to serve Patron.

Reviews say it's "FANTASTIC" ---maybe if you order a la carte it's fab, but I did the tasting menu and spent $300, and the food was nowhere near what it should've been for that price. I'm accustomed to paying for great food, and would've had no problem spending this much if the food was of the quality, but the flavors were unbalanced, the vermicelli with the cod had way too much salt and ginger, the truffled mac and cheese was less than average, and over all totally unsatisfactory for the amount I've spent.

This restaurant is decent, but truly overrated and not worth the money. My qualifications: extensive restaurant experience, everything from cocktail waiter to white glove service, Captain, sommelier, manager, for over 35 restaurants in Northeast. Wine collector and cook. If you are the epicurean, wine collecting, foodie type who knows good food and enjoys wine along with it, you really would rather find another place. The food was good - no complaints - not great. Want a glass of red wine to go with your steak? You can choose from California cabernet (mostly Napa) and one Australian Shiraz too). No old world by the glass. It's a place to say you went to, but really nothing special.

The dining experience was, in a word, splendid. Re. Our waitress - Misty: Friendly and professional. She knew the menu inside out and gave us chapter and verse on the ingredients/prep and after asking a few questions about our preferences suggested...Hamachi Sashimi which was wonderfully fresh and silky. The charred scallions had just a bit of sweetness, heat and smoke. Crunchy couscous made it fun - loved it. Main Courses: New York strip was right on the money at medium rare and the bliss potatoes were amazingly good. The pork chop with shallots/cilantro and parmesan was a big winner, too. Really fine dining, very comfortable room with banquets for getting close to your dining companion. Did I say "loved it"....yes I did!

after researching Miami's best restaurants for our trip there we chose Wish. we were completely disappointed. canned artichokes were used for the charred artichoke salad. dressings on both salads were bad and that is something that is almost impossible to mess up. the main waiter almost completely ignored us. we weren't drinking alcohol so perhaps that was the reason. 18% +gratuity added to bill so i guess they don't have to try very hard. i could go on - chicken was tough, fish was bland..etc. we ate at three other fine restaurants and this was by far the worst.

The food was very good but between appetizer and main entree we had to wait 30 minutes and that kills the experience. Also, there was a lot of noise outside the restaurant with a couple of cars revving up their engines and playing music very loud. The smell of the exhaust from the cars invaded and took over the space since this is an open area restaurant.

The setting is wonderful with big colorful umbrellas, water fountain and tropical feel. However, the food was disappointing. The charred artichoke salad was pretty but the salad leaves were very bitter and I'm a huge fan of artichokes and these were nondescript. The highly recommended Branzino was a small portion and very bland in flavor. True lover of mediterranean food but the babbaganoush was tasteless. My hudband's grilled lobster tails were very average. Very disappointing because we had such wonderful meals at other South Beach Restaurants that were not as highly reviewed. Our waiter was new but he was efficient and personable.

I was disappointed with the noise around the restaurant. We were seated by a gate in the courtyard as a fight had broke out on the street behind us. It was difficult to relax and enjoy a fine meal with screaming, profanity and police sirens. I was disappointed when our waiter brought our coffee without spoons to mix cream and sugar and waited 5 minutes to get his attention again while our coffee became cold. It began to rain and rather than repositioning umbrellas or asking us if we'd prefer to dine inside as other waiters were cautioning guests, we sat outside getting wet. Once our check arrived we were overcharged for items we didn't order. I circled the charges on our bill when presenting my credit card but they were never removed.

The restaurant had a good ambiance. We got a waiter that was a bite to eager to be of service (we were there for a nice romantic dinner). We stated with an appetizer, Carpaccio, which was hardly ok but we didn’t send it back. As the entrée we had the chicken as well as the pork. The pork was really dry and the chicken was not done properly. We send the food back and left. The food was not in line with the price and we will never go back. This experience almost ruined our whole night. The chef might have had a day off but three mistakes the same night is not ok. There are so many good places at SB, my advice is to go on Lincoln road instead or Ocean drive.

Never a misstep from the bread basket with adzuki bean, avocado and ginger guacamole to the cheesecake with fresh berries and caramel sauce. Our waiter, Willie, was unobtrusively attentive and genial. It was no problem to order a side (Tempura Bok Choy with Yuzu-Soy Dressing) as a starter before the moist Branzino(Babaganoush, Cherry Tomatoes, Tempura Maitake Mushrooms, Tomato Broth, Frisee Salad. My companion was equally happy with the Wish Salad (Endive, Radish, Cucumber, Cashews, Ginger-Lime Dressing) and NY Strip (Red Bliss Potato, Cippolini Onion, Blue Cheese, Radicchio, Red Wine Syrup). We last dined at Wish six years ago. The quality and atmosphere have remained consistently fun, comfortable and impressive. We'll be back!

I was really excited to have dinner here with my husband during our two night stay in SoBe. We thought the food was excellent and I would have loved to try almost everything on the menu! We also thought the prices were good as compared to other pricing we'd seen in SoBe. Service was great, too. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The only complaint we had was the lack of air-flow! We were sitting outside but you would hardly know it. It seemed like all the umbrellas that were up somehow blocked the breeze and we were really warm and sweaty during dinner. Yes, I know we were in Miami and yes, we expected hot and humid, but some fans would have been nice. All in all, though, this is a place I'd recommend to friends.
