Outstanding food, attentive (but not overwhelming) service, amazing view, excellent drinks! Perfect spot for brunch on a special occasion. I began with a kir royale, which was perfect. We were brought complimentary pastries and breads which were absolutely delicious. I followed with the poached shrimp, followed by the lobster omelette. The lobster was definitely fresh. The food was flavorful, but was not too heavy. My mom had the pumpkin soup and the lemon risotto; she loved both. We ended with poached pears and the peanut butter mousse. My mom said that she wished she had more pear on the plate, but loved it. The mousse was a perfect, rich end to a wonderful meal.

Our visit to Auberge du Soleil was on a Tuesday evening, the last night of our stay in Napa. The restaurant itself is just gorgeous but we have found that atmosphere, service and food don't usually all hit the same high mark despite a restaurant's reputation. In this case, however, they all were perfection. My husband loves sweetbreads but objected to one of the ingredients listed in the menu. "No problem" said our wonderful server, Kathy, who then made sure he got the best sweetbreads he'd ever tasted. After I warned the restaurant about my severe gluten intolerance, aggravated by an accidental gluten exposure a few days previous,Kathy and the very caring chef and kitchen staff made sure that I got a meal that was wonderful and safe. It was such a relief to realize how very knowledgeable and capable Kathy was so I could just relax and enjoy the great food without worrying about another 'accidental glutening'. We will certainly go back to Auberge on our next visit to Napa.

For a completely pleasurable dining experience, nothing surpasses Sunday brunch at Auberge. The gorgeous setting on the terrace overlooking the Napa Valley, the thoughtfulness of the servers, the beautifully set tables, the abundance of luscious food, the soft jazz playing in the background delight the senses - and satisfy the soul. Beginning with heavenly house-made muffins, scones, and breads, along with a special beverage (I had the mimosa and my dining companion had a bloody Mary) is such a great way to start brunch. I always order coffee, as well; to me, it wouldn't feel like brunch without some java. This was our fourth visit to Auberge, so we arrived with certain favorite dishes in mind. I had ordered the fairytale pumpkin soup and my companion had ordered the onion tartelette with smoked salmon and crème fraiche on at least one previous occasion. Both dishes were every bit as delicious as we remembered. And, despite many other tempting choices, I always stick with the Kurobuta pork chop - a mainstay of the menu, but prepared differently every time (with seasonal ingredients). On this occasion, it was served with braised red cabbage (which I didn't think I would like, but its sweetness wonderfully complemented the pork), Filo gold apples, bacon spaetzele, and cider sauce. Sensational! If I have one minor criticism - consider it a suggestion - it has to do with the desserts. Although I enjoyed my dessert this time (the chocolate peanut butter mousse / cocoa génoise, caramel, and nougat concoction with milk sorbet), there are many "deconstructed" options that I find somewhat disappointing. After such a luxurious meal, I'm primed for a more traditional sweet taste. It doesn't have to be super-sized; just a yummy bite to savor (with or without coffee) would be the perfect finish. Perhaps the dessert chef could offer a few more traditional items along with the "deconstructed" options. Either way, Auberge is simply stellar!

Dinner for two was expensive and the wait staff was a bit snooty. However, the food was great, and it was a romantic spot. With that said - when you spend over $400 for dinner - I expect the entire experience to be 5 stars. I can understand why it is Michelin rated (for the food) but my overall experience was A bit disappointing.

This restaurant came as a recommendation and when I saw the photos of the views it was a definite must to fit into our trip to California's wine country and it certainly made a lasting memory for our trip. Not only was the breakfast menu amazing but the views of the Napa Valley from the outdoor terrace were breathtaking. The service was exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast selections. I honestly didn't want the moment to end. Breakfast was a perfect choice because it gave us sustenance as well as a full day in Napa Valley to enjoy visiting the vineyards. This restaurant will be on the must-do list for all future trips to wine country.

Friends recommended this restaurant to us; said it was one of their favorites. We were not disappointed! The service, food and ambience was wonderful. I wish we could have dined outside as I've heard the property is beautiful, but the cool, rainy weather prohibited that. The wine list is huge, but the staff is knowledgable & helped out with our choice. We will come back here again when we're in town.

This was our second trip to Napa Valley and we wanted to return to Auberge du Soleil for dinner. It was a beautiful night with a light breeze but the heaters in the ceiling took away the chill in the air. The food was spectacular! We enjoyed the 4 course selection which included wonderful desserts. Each course was superb as was the service. The courses are spaced perfectly to be able to enjoy the wine. A truly memorable dining experience.

This is my favorite place in the world to dine, and I have been pretty much to a lot of places. The title describes everything in a capsule. Above all, it is the graciousness of all staff you encounter here that makes it well worth the cost in travel and money. I take friends here to celebrate their birthdays and my own, and anniversaries, oh, anything that calls for something special. The food is varied enough for folks to find something to their taste, and superb. Wine list, same. View overlooking the Napa Valley to die for. I happily drive an hour each way to dine here. For the best daytime treat, try for a table on the terrace for lunch. For a super splurge, stay at the Inn and experience heaven on earth. Oh, and invite me for lunch!

We had a wonderful brunch here on Sunday. Good spot with a beautiful view and good service. Food is excellent and a pretty good deal for what you get. Only gripe is it was quite a hot day and sitting out on the terrace was a bit warmer than ideal. Not the restaurant's fault, but just a forewarning to check the forecast before booking the terrace. Otherwise you're probably better inside where there's air conditioning. Would definitely return.
