My wife and I just went for a "dating anniversary" dinner, and the evening was spectacular. The food was delicious. We had the scallop and the kona kampachi crudo. The former was sauteed perfectly, and the raw kampachi was a delicacy. A couple of glasses of sparkling wine rounded up the first course very well. Our main courses were the squab and the duck, which we paired with a bottle of Zinfandel, and both dishes were outstanding. We were also extremely pleased with the quality of the service. One example: we found a small piece of cloth lodged into the bread, and they immediately took it back to the kitchen to alert the chef, and then came out to apologize. They did their utmost to treat us well. We look forward to returning.

The terrace at L'Auberge has an enchantment factor that's hard to match. Service is impeccable but not intrusive. Elegant food. Only slight complaint - the wine list is now on an i-pad and takes longer to look at that way. So much for progress ! Otherwise an experience worth its price tag.

I expected more. I really wanted to come here because the scenic view from outdoor seating and that was lovely but the service was very slow and my fruit was sour, my bacon was too crispy/burnt. I was surprised my pancakes came out fine. My sister ordered the eggs Benedict and that was good too. I had high expectations but I would still give it a second try. Even though first impressions are the most important.

Enjoyed a fabulous brunch. The food is excellent and the service attentive, professional and friendly. Everyone in our party tried different items and all were happy with our respective choices. The food presentation is beautiful. Also enjoyed a great Bloody Mary - light, refreshing and very flavorful. Overall, an outstanding place for a special occasion or just to enjoy an extra special dining experience.

This is a very beautiful view on the hill top. Food was excellent for the most parts. Our duck was a quite salty, so we sent it back to the kitchen and they cooked it again for us, and it was perfect. Service was top notched and very accommodating. Loved it!

This place has everything - from food to service to location and views, pricey, but worth the experience if you are in Napa. If I had to choose one restaurant in Napa, this would be one of them. I haven't been to French Laundry to compare, but this one is not too far on Zagat reting, and much easier to get into - thanks to a remote location. Again, outstanding place for a special event.

We went to Auberge with high expectations and they came thru beautifully! We sat out on the veranda with stunning views. The service was impeccable and the food excellent in all respects. We ordered the 4 course price fixed menu, but given the size of the portions, could easily have done the three. We will certainly go back again.

This was a wonderful find and we would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves world class dining. Everything about this experience was an experience not too soon to be forgotten. The attention to detail was just fabulous. Our waiter was knowledgable about the menu and beyond. The presentation of the food was impeccable! That doesn't even touch on how delicious it all was. It happened to have been an engagement celebration and it was noted on the Open Table reservation and our desserts were brought to the table noting "congratulations to both". Kudos to Auberge!!

We kicked off our trip with lunch at Auberge. We had been there once before and this visit was as wonderful as the last. The scallops were perfect. My husband loved the fresh baked bread, the wine list was amazing and service was impeccable . We sat outside on the terrace and the views and weather topped off the afternoon. Will always be a very top choice for us when coming to the wine country!

Everything about this place is perfect for a romantic dinner or a special experience with friends and family. The food is above par and the setting is perfect. The service was also excellent, I only discounted one star because it was my friends birthday and they had indicated they would do something (not that I asked or expected anything) yet the dinner came and went with no acknowledgement. Even the best places sometimes slip but I did not hold it against them. Overall this was a 5 star experience.

we liked the technology aspect of how they presented the wine list on ipads, but the menu was underwhelming. at a place of this caliber every one of their wines by the glass should be irresistable but some were not worth the calorie intake. but give them points on the half glass option and the good selections were indeed superstars. on the food side, rather than wanting to try everything as in other restos, we were challenged to find something to order. what stood out was lamb tartar which was outstanding but the rest of the menu was uninspiring. they redeemed themselves on some great desserts which brought their average food rating to a good. The views were scenic and representative of a napa dining experience.

We enjoy Auberge du Soliel very much - the food. the service, the lovely setting and views from the veranda. This visit was no exception - our food was delicious and exceptional. The service, for the most part, was attentive. There was one glitch which surprised me, however, while awaiting the arrival of dessert - a waiter whom I had not seen before suddenly appeared with another bowl of the soup I had had as an appetizer and tried to serve it to me. I explained that I had already had that course as well as my entree and was awaiting dessert. Another 15 minutes passed before our waiter walked by and noticed that I still didn't have my dessert. Once it arrived, the dessert was delicious.

We arrived 20 minutes before our reservation and wanted to have a cocktail outside. We were ignored until I had to get up to ask a wait person to help us. However, service at our table was great. Food was good but not close to what I expected based on recommendations from friends, although desert was great. I would only recommend the Auberge du Soleil if you want to spend a lot of money and be able to tell your friends you ate there.

The food was awesome--can't say enough about it--hats off to the chef. However, what might have been an otherwise romantic experience was dimmed by a loud private party just below the terrance that started shortly after we were seated at 8:30pm, and some lack of service (that one would expect at such a high end restaurant, e.g., resisting a quite reasonable request to taste a wine before purchase, and having waiters pass our table 3x before taking away obviously completed plates with the fork down). These are touches that must be perfected when patrons spend probably 10x what they would pay for a meal in a regular fine restaurant. The value proposition declines markedly when they are missing.

Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford, CA has been one of my favorite restaurants for a long time. We make the trip from San Jose as often as we can. The food is the best I have ever tasted and it draws us back again and again. The hospitality of the staff is beyond measure.
