"The food is very good and the views and setting spectacular. We expected excellent service at a restaurant that is suppose to be exceptional in all ways and where the prices are very steep. However the service was very disappointing. We sat for over 30 minutes before the waiter took our cocktail order and once the meal got started she all but disappeared. We both would have like more wine with dinner but were never asked and server never came back to ask how things were or to check on us. We were also never asked if we wanted coffee until dessert was over and we were ready to leave. The water power/bread server was very attentive, however. I would not return."

"We were there for breakfast; nothing special and rather expensive for the small portions we were served. Incomparable views. Brunch/lunch menus looked much more interesting, but very expensive."

"This was our third visit to Auberge and our most disappointing, food wise. My husband's Hopper shrimp salad was bland. My English pea risotto tasted like plastic. The only outstanding course was dessert. It was too bad the food did not live up to the view. That was spectacular."

"Phenomenal first time visit. Great cap to gastronomic week beginning in San Fran with Masa's and Napa Valley, including The French Laundry (for perspective). Excellent service, friendly, knowledgeable staff, perfectly executed. Chose three course menu over lengthier options. Burrata and sweet bread apps were excellent. Seasonal suckling pig was beautiful and delicious with a lovely crispy skin. Loved the unadorned, traditional-style cheese course (the lightly candied walnuts were outstanding!). Sorbet dessert was perfect. Wonderful dining room with fantastic view. Great wine list and excellent wine service. Good value. Highly, highly recommended."

"This is one of the best California restaurants we've ever visited. Lunch on a weekday with the special prix fixe menu was a relative bargain and the food (especially an asparagus soup, but also the onion crusted halibut and the profiteroles) was exceptionally well done. We even found a relatively reasonably priced Napa wine, a blend of Sangiovese, cabernet and syrah called Pazzo. Altogether a very nice experience."

"We both had a great meal at the Auberge du Soleil
The ambience is magnificent, the staff attentive and it makes a perfect place to visit for that special meal.
The food choices and layout of the menus were particularly good allowing lighter eaters a less heavy meal in terms of number of courses.
The individual dishes we had were all cooked and presented beautifully
The wine list was comprehensive and service unobtrusive but excellent"
