  • "The food sounded so fancy on the menu and came in with ordinary presentation and blend taste. A lot of french words on the menu, but little typical french recipes of ingredients in our plates. And after an appetizer, a main course and a desert, we were both still hungry! So disappointing… Some people were in huge groups and speaking so loud we could barely hear ourselves talk. Others were so snobs they spent all they time looking us and other people with disgust. Very weird social experience. Luckily the servers were polite and kind. Won't be going back or recommend it."

  • "We took advantage of Summerlicious at Auberge and are glad we did. Seated on a charming patio, we were treated to white table linens, excellent service and a fabulous 3 course meal, including the choice of mini wine pairings or larger (glass) of wine pairings with every course. Although the restaurant and patio were full, the ambience was quiet and serene, the sun setting outside the edge of the private, treed outdoor patio. Our server encouraged us to enjoy a breather to settle in and enjoy a summer cooler (I had the white sangria which was delicious) before we 'took service' of food. Everything was excellent. I am a critical consumer and could find no fault, only joy, beauty and complex flavours in food and wine."

  • "What a beautiful resto, we ate outside and it was lovely. I was waiting to ask the waiter for a steak knife, but quickly realized my filet mignon could be cut with my butter knife! Everything was delicious. I think its great that they do a Summerlicious menu as now I will go back for the regular one!"

  • "Have to say that I was very disappointed with the summerliscious offerings at this resto. It's still a beautiful place and if not for the service and attention of our server (though a bit over the top), I would have rated my overall experience a 1 or 2. Food was blah. My roasted pepper stuffed with couscous was drier than a the desert sand. The fish balls were nothing but batter and if not for the cheese sauce, the chicken breast would have been a write off. Dry dry dry. Desserts were fine. No complaints there. And why does it take so long in between courses? We waited almost 30 minutes between apps abd mains. Guys...bring it up a notch, will ya? You owe it to your reputation."

Dinner at Auberge du Pommier was a great way to forget our long drive from Chicago to Toronto. We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu that the chef put together for us. Its highlight was the lamb main course. Definitely one of the best lamb dishes we've ever had. Highly recommended."

  • "She had: Watermelon Gazpacho, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Ice Cream Sandwich. He had: Shrimp Salad Crostini, Crispy Fish Brandade, Olive Oil Cake. The Shrimp Salad and Ice Cream Sandwich were delicious but the other meals felt a little flat, especially the gazpacho (not as interesting as Bymark's) and cake (dry and bland). We went in with high expectations for the highest rated restaurant in Toronto and went away satisfied that we had tried their Summerlicious prix fixe lunch but glad we hadn't dropped a few hundred dollars for dinner on a regular night."

  • "My friends and I went for summerlicious and it was great! It was a Monday night and the place was very busy. I had a watermelon gazpacho, a file mignon and as dessert olive oil cake. Everything was to die for!! To drink I had a ginger lemonade that came in a very tiny glass it tasted good bit I thought that $7 for that was way to much. My friend got their tasting pairing wine for $20, she loved the 3 wines and the waitress was very generous in serving her a full glass every course.. Overall incredible experience. Great service, great food and great ambiance!"

  • "We were 10 minutes early in our reservation, both hostesses were very "cold" (too formal) in our reception. The waiter(s) were professional and servcie was fast in getting us water, wine & food. The wine was only a quarter full in the glass of wine? The busboy brought us 3 buns which were in the warmer for too long: hard & crusty. The favoured butter was great. The starters (salad, shrimp) was well-plated. The fish cake & chicken con cordon bleu were great. The two desserts (Cheese and ice cream) were the highlight in both plating and taste. The cappuccina was excellent. the small dining area with low ceiling was noisy. May I suggest the owner (Mr Oliver) to install sound absorbing material on the wall and ceiling next time he decorates."

  • "My recent visit to Auberge du Pommier was great. Entered the terrace, what a relaxing area, it was just breathtaking it comes to mind of a neighbourhood restaurant in Paris where you would come for a late lunch and just there there for a couple of hours during a nice crisp white wine, perhaps a Gewürztraminer. Started with bread, warm sourdough whose roof is golden, crisp and interior pillowy. The artichoke spread also, was also very good, earthy artichokes puréed with olive oil. Opted for shrimp crostini for an appetizer, which was large meaty shrimp nestled upon a chili mayo suggesting pure indulgence. The plate had a spear of crostini and was garnished with dressed arugula and a flurry of dried chili. What a lunch, in a beautiful terrace"

  • "Our family went here for dinner with a dear friend the day of our son's move. We were bending the "business casual description" right around the block, but the person at the front desk said all they wanted was for us to be comfortable. And comfortable we were. Our server was friendly and attentive, making us comfortable and well looked-after. We were there for Summerlicious and we thought the selections were perfect and all of our meals were prepared perfectly: filet motion, salmon and Chicken Cordon Bleu. We weren't rushed by our server at all, once he realized we were there for a viapsit as well as a meal. Basically, a perfect dinner."

However the Summerlicious menu was very disappointing; watermelon soup was too sweet & crispy fish just fish cakes by another name. The 2 year old at the next table loved it! The chicken was equally bland. If they are going to participate - they should 'show their stuff'. Was not an encouragement to return. Service as always excellent."

  • "The atmosphere and service was excellent to none. It was a very romantic setting for my girl and I to celebrate her birthday. Its pricey but good. All of the food was cooked wonderfully and was served hot, however the main course on both our dishes (i had halibut and she had lamb) were cooked well but lacked flavour. That was the only downside. The complimentary olives and bread were tasty. I reccomend this restaraunt to couples celebrating or to high end business partners."

  • "I have enjoyed the Auberge numerous times but they let me down on this last visit. I ordered the set menu that starte out very well but following the 3rd course timing seemed to stretch on for much, much too long. A table beside us was also enjoying the same menu but having started 1 hour after us they were at around the same point the menu. I also have to mention the restroom. It was in pleasant shape at the beginning of the evening but as the night progressed it became quite rough. The hand towels ran out and patrons began using the facial tissue to dry their hands, numerous were strewn on the floor."
