Auberge du PommierAnother memorable eveningWe celebrated a special family birthday last week at Auberge du Pommier. This was not our first visit, so we have very high expectations. The staff not only met those expectations, but they exceeded them. Staff were professional, friendly and knowledgeble about all aspects of the food and wine. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but this is a special place and you get value for the dollars spent. Our food was outstanding from appetizer to entree. The service was unrushed and very attentive from our arrival until the time we said goodnight. Every course was presented well and arrived prepared as we had ordered. The food was fabulous the presentation and the flavours were outstanding. Our waiter was charming and very helpful. We enjoyed our wine and the ambience was classy and calming. I Googled "top resaturants in Toronto" and several places came up, one being Auberge du Pommier. After some thought I picked it even though it seemed to be some distance from where we were staying downtown. How thankfully we all are that I stuck with it. Quite simply it was the best meal any of us has had in our entire lives (that adds up to 180 years!! We have given 5 stars for all the above headings, but this establishment deserves 10! And why it has not got 3 Michelin stars is a clearly an oversight on the part of that guide.
