A word from Auberge du Pommier
An exquisite French restaurant constructed around the rustic vestiges of two 1860's woodcutter's cottages. Cozy wood burning fireplaces in winter and lush garden terraces in summer. Inspired modern French cuisine, seasonal tasting menus lunch and dinner, and a 500 label wine selection has something for every palate. One of Toronto's Top 10 Restaurants. "The service at Auberge du Pommier is silken smooth and deliciously attentive; the ambiance is luxe; and the food is very good French technique using impeccable ingredients." Diner Reviews
  • "Who enjoys driving for 10 days, especially when the last hour involves dealing with the heavy traffic of rush hour in Toronto? Dinner at Auberge du Pommier was a great way to forget our long drive from Chicago to Toronto. We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu that the chef put together for us. Its highlight was the lamb main course. Definitely one of the best lamb dishes we've ever had. Highly recommended."

  • "So refreshing to go to a restaurant participating in summerlicious that treats you as if you were a regular patron and not a table they had to put up with. We'll be back. Wish all restaurants understood this."

  • "ambiance was top notch, appetizer and entree absolutely delicious. the dessert (from the summerlicious menu) was unfortunately sub par."

  • "this time around we were very disappointed within the fillet mignon. It was tasteless , no seasoning, burned outside or it had some light black coating. As other diners were not saying anything I felt it was me having a problem until later on way out others were also complaining to themselves. Waiter ignored us on the patio --i guess he did not KNOW us."

  • "I went there with a group of 6 persons for a friend's birthday occasion. The service was excellent, friendly environment. I highly recommend for this restaurant, but only I spent $10 for parking ($5/hour) The restaurant only validate parking for dinner, after 5:30pm. Overall, it was a good experience."

  • "She had: Watermelon Gazpacho, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Ice Cream Sandwich. He had: Shrimp Salad Crostini, Crispy Fish Brandade, Olive Oil Cake. The Shrimp Salad and Ice Cream Sandwich were delicious but the other meals felt a little flat, especially the gazpacho (not as interesting as Bymark's) and cake (dry and bland). We went in with high expectations for the highest rated restaurant in Toronto and went away satisfied that we had tried their Summerlicious prix fixe lunch but glad we hadn't dropped a few hundred dollars for dinner on a regular night."

  • "My friends and I went for summerlicious and it was great! It was a Monday night and the place was very busy. I had a watermelon gazpacho, a file mignon and as dessert olive oil cake. Everything was to die for!! To drink I had a ginger lemonade that came in a very tiny glass it tasted good bit I thought that $7 for that was way to much. My friend got their tasting pairing wine for $20, she loved the 3 wines and the waitress was very generous in serving her a full glass every course.. Overall incredible experience. Great service, great food and great ambiance!"

  • "Amazing food and service Went there for summerlicious. Did not bring a high expectation as summerlicious usually present cheaper product. This place, however, amazed me so much with the quality of food and service."

  • "The restaurant has a beautiful setting and it is suitable for romantic dinner or special occasion. The service was amazing and attentive although it was super busy during Summerlicious lunch time. Overall, dining at Auberge du Pommier is a great experience."

  • "We were 10 minutes early in our reservation, both hostesses were very "cold" (too formal) in our reception. The waiter(s) were professional and servcie was fast in getting us water, wine & food. The wine was only a quarter full in the glass of wine? The busboy brought us 3 buns which were in the warmer for too long: hard & crusty. The favoured butter was great. The starters (salad, shrimp) was well-plated. The fish cake & chicken con cordon bleu were great. The two desserts (Cheese and ice cream) were the highlight in both plating and taste. The cappuccina was excellent. the small dining area with low ceiling was noisy. May I suggest the owner (Mr Oliver) to install sound absorbing material on the wall and ceiling next time he decorates."

  • "My recent visit to Auberge du Pommier was great. Entered the terrace, what a relaxing area, it was just breathtaking it comes to mind of a neighbourhood restaurant in Paris where you would come for a late lunch and just there there for a couple of hours during a nice crisp white wine, perhaps a Gewürztraminer. Started with bread, warm sourdough whose roof is golden, crisp and interior pillowy. The artichoke spread also, was also very good, earthy artichokes puréed with olive oil. Opted for shrimp crostini for an appetizer, which was large meaty shrimp nestled upon a chili mayo suggesting pure indulgence. The plate had a spear of crostini and was garnished with dressed arugula and a flurry of dried chili. What a lunch, in a beautiful terrace"

  • "Our family went here for dinner with a dear friend the day of our son's move. We were bending the "business casual description" right around the block, but the person at the front desk said all they wanted was for us to be comfortable. And comfortable we were. Our server was friendly and attentive, making us comfortable and well looked-after. We were there for Summerlicious and we thought the selections were perfect and all of our meals were prepared perfectly: filet motion, salmon and Chicken Cordon Bleu. We weren't rushed by our server at all, once he realized we were there for a viapsit as well as a meal. Basically, a perfect dinner."

  • "We have always loved coming here as it is an excellent restaurant in the neighbourhood, even though it is pricey. However the Summerlicious menu was very disappointing; watermelon soup was too sweet & crispy fish just fish cakes by another name. The 2 year old at the next table loved it! The chicken was equally bland. If they are going to participate - they should 'show their stuff'. Was not an encouragement to return. Service as always excellent."

  • "great food presentation but bland food. Honestly most tender piece of chicken breast ive everrrrrr had in my life but very bland .Creative combination for the salmon dish .Fish was not over done the candies almond slivers was a good touch with the cranberry sauce with saved the dish in terms of flavour. Great atmosphere very competent and efficient staff ,great food concepts and presentation but bland food"

  • "The atmosphere and service was excellent to none. It was a very romantic setting for my girl and I to celebrate her birthday. Its pricey but good. All of the food was cooked wonderfully and was served hot, however the main course on both our dishes (i had halibut and she had lamb) were cooked well but lacked flavour. That was the only downside. The complimentary olives and bread were tasty. I reccomend this restaraunt to couples celebrating or to high end business partners."

  • "One of the best French restaurant in the GTA. The service is great. The menu is not very extensive but sufficient. The food is very good. Would be even better if it stays open Sunday."

  • "I have enjoyed the Auberge numerous times but they let me down on this last visit. I ordered the set menu that starte out very well but following the 3rd course timing seemed to stretch on for much, much too long. A table beside us was also enjoying the same menu but having started 1 hour after us they were at around the same point the menu. I also have to mention the restroom. It was in pleasant shape at the beginning of the evening but as the night progressed it became quite rough. The hand towels ran out and patrons began using the facial tissue to dry their hands, numerous were strewn on the floor."

  • "Had an excellent meal here but found the service, while friendly, to be inconsistent. I had expected better service - we waited almost half an hour to make a drink order and that only happened because I flagged down a waiter. Not good enough."

  • "The ambiance alone is worth the trip. My girlfriend and I both enjoyed the tasting menu and although I have had better tasting menus elsewhere, it was still very good and highly recommended. We dined inside but the patio/courtyard looked beautiful. The service was spot on and the wine list fantastic. If your looking for a great French meal then definitely give it a shot. Overall a 4 out of 5."

  • "Auberge is our "go to" restaurant for special occasion quiet dinning. The atmosphere either in summer, dinning outdoors on the patio or inside, or in winter dinning by the real wood burning fireplace, lets you "leave the city" and enjoy the French country side. The menu is always enticing and changed enough to never be the "same old thing". Wine list is extensive and varied enough for all tastes. The pairings meals are very well done and every server knows how to explain every detail of the meal and pairing with it. Top notch, food and wine, knowledgeable staff."

  • "Our group enjoyed a beautiful dinner at Auberge du Pommier for a special occasion (our first time at the restaurant) and I cannot wait to return and recommend it to our friends. Of particular note was their flawless ability to go above and beyond a dietary restriction (one of our guests is celiac, and she was incredibly impressed with their ability to accommodate her). The service was also impeccable, and the quality of the ingredients and presentation was beautiful: we thoroughly enjoyed the asparagus soup, aged beef/ox tail, hamachi and lamb dish. If you are looking for the perfect venue for a special occasion you not be disappointed at Auberge du Pommier."

  • "I have been to this restaurant many times, always for special occasion. Service is great even for Winterlicious and Summerlicious versus some restaurants that participate in the Toronto-licious events thinking they are doing their guests a favour for providing cheap food and rude wait staffs."

  • "If you are looking for an above average lunch experience, be it business or personal, Auberge du Pommier will not dissappoint. A relaxed, almost country like ambience, is matched by attentive service, impressive food and beverage choices and prices well in line with comparable restaurants. Easy parking, which can be a problem in Toronto, is an additional bonus. I will certainly be back."

  • "We recently celebrated our anniversary at Auberge. After some deliberation we chose the tasting menu. Every course was beautifully presented, served and paired. The food is imaginitive, and the taste is nothing short of 'wow'. Our server took the time to explain each course and how the wine compliments the dish. She clearly has great respect for the chef and a passion for his food. Her understanding of wine is impressive and much discussion ensued for each course. An exceptional evening!"

  • "the service was nonexistent - i had to go searching for spoons for our linguini - and the food was nothing special - 170 bucks for three for lunch with just water to drink was about 100+ bucks too much! we didn't bother staying for desert...i won't be back... too bad, the place has pontential..."

  • "We has never been to this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. We were warmly greeted, seated right away and enjoyed a delightful evening. Great champagnes on the wine list, so we ordered a vintage. We had delicious fois gras, duck and halibut and enjoyed them all. We indulged in a short cheese course and split a lemon soufflé for dessert. It was all delicious and our server was extremely attentive and helpful. We will be back when we come to Toronto. Thanks for a great evening."

  • "Impeccable service and ambiance, but I'm less optimistic about the food - we ordered the gourmand tasting menu, all the dishes were beautiful and the wine parings were perfect until the main course, the tastless and artless big chunck of lamb, ruined everything. It's the ability to master lamb dishes that really shows the standard of a french restaurant. Sadly to say, the restaurant's food taste does not live up to its michelin-starred price."
